Great location, lovely hotel.Posted 27-Aug-2014
Pros: Location, staff, room, character - a Soho-like boutique.
Cons: More of a concierge presence.
Location: Everything close by. A walk to all of the Gaudi sights.
Everything was top notch with one exception. Because it is a smaller boutique hotel, there was no dedicated concierge to help, either before arrival or during. The staff at the front desk do their best and they are lovely, but it's a busy crowded city and help is needed to arrange tours, guides, etc…Visitors must make arrangements before they arrive, or plan to take on that responsibility themselves. There are plenty of options, it's just that recommendations are helpful given the many choices.

Clean and Convenient with no surprisesPosted 24-Aug-2014
We stayed at Hotel Granvia for 6 nights. We booked a family suite that had a king and a pullout queen. We were with our daughter and it was our first time in Barcelona. This hotel is a real find. While not inexpensive, it has recently undergone renovations and now projects an air of old world grandeur with a distinctly modern feel. The hotel is walking distance to several metro line stations and just far enough away from the Plaza Catalunya's hustle and bustle to feel you are in a residential neighbourhood. Quality dining and shopping abound within a 1 km radius and the Gothic Quarter is a 15 minute stroll. The room service was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to people not looking for a lot of additional amenities such as fitness and pool. The courtyard in the rear, however, was a delightful oasis with comfortable couches with bar service. We will definitely stay there again.

Perfect locationPosted 6-Jul-2014
Brilliant central location perfect for exploring Barcelona. Hotel itself is beautiful. I had a superior room which was excellent plenty of space, big bathroom and plenty of storage. Had lovely door opening il onto the street to sit relax and people watch at the end of the day. Staff were really friendly and breakfast was a good continental selection.

Beautiful hotel, great location!Posted 5-Jul-2014
Pros: Roof terrace - great loungers, day beds and outdoor showers!
Cons: Our bathroom was very compact so could have been a little more spacious. Would have been nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the room.
Location: Great location! Walking distance to Las Ramblas and many Gaudi sights. Perfectly located for the airport shuttle and tourist bus too.
This was my 3rd time staying at this hotel and the recent renovations have really transformed it into a beaut! Its in a wonderful location, approx 3mins stroll to the top of Las Ramblas and really accessible for the tourist bus routes and airport shuttle bus (both located at Plaza Catalunya). Staff were friendly and hotel amenities were good. Super stay yet again....definitely recommendable!

Nice terrace and great breakfeast buffePosted 20-Jun-2014
Location: It is next to the great Passeig Gracia where you can find most high street stores and designer brands.
I stayed at Granvia during a business trip. It is a quiet hotel with friendly staff. There is a wonderful terrace where you can can work, relax and even invite clients for a drink. There is also a great library with good space and tranquility to work.

Can't really complain.Posted 12-Jun-2014
Pros: Location, staff, and cleanliness.
Cons: Can't think of anything, other than me losing a bit of weight, so could get into the bathroom a bit easier.
Location: Hotel Gran Via is in the heart of Barcelona; 5 minutes to La Ramblas, Placya Catalunya, fabulous Tapas Bars and Restaurants, and endless shops.
The room was small, but that was what we paid for; the bathroom was a bit too tight for me (and I'm a bit big), but was clean, and had a good selection of gels, shampoos, etc. No complaints whatsoever about the hotel, staff, and facilities. It's either the 3rd or 4th time we've stayed here; it was closed last year for refurbishment, and what a great job they've done. Will always be my No.1 hotel to stay in Barcelona.

clean hotel in central locationPosted 9-Jun-2014
This had to have been the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. While the room was on the small side (it is Europe after all), it had clearly recently been updated, and everything was new and immaculately clean. The hotel is in a great location, right on the Gran Via main drag, where you can easily walk to Las Ramblas, the fancy Passeig de Gracia shops, and the Metro train station. The concierge staff all spoke English and were very helpful in answering our questions. There's air conditioning in the rooms. The hotel has a delightful rooftop patio where we sat to sip tea a couple times, and even hear live music. We didn't get the breakfast package, and I'm glad we didn't, as there's so much good food to be found in the city (try Brunch & Cake!). If you hang out in your room during the day, be sure to keep the "do not disturb" sign hanging on the outside of your door: on two consecutive days housekeepers opened the door without knocking (there's no way to deadbolt it from the inside). The room had already been cleaned, but there didn't seem to be communication between the cleaning staff as to what rooms had been finished. The only slight negative, for me, is that there was little soundproofing between the door and the hallway to other rooms. Our room was inward-facing rather than street-facing, so I expected it to be dead silent. Regardless, I highly recommend this hotel, and would stay there again without hesitation if I find myself in Barcelona again. This had to have been the
