The main attraction of this hotel is the location. It is right at the Rambla and close to Catalunya square. However, I was disappointed at the state if the property. It feels older than what it looks in the pictures. Needs better maintaining as there where some details as painting. It has food available 24/7, but they should inprove the options as they don’t look very tasty.

Right in the middle of the action. We saw police cars and ambulances. Plus lots of tourists...including us. The hotel was 3 stars. Only things that could be better would be change out the fruit more often on your buffet and offer a few more choices. Would i stay there again....heck yes!

The location is amazing. I would opt for the balcony room on La Rambla as you can watch the city with ease. The staff were wonderful and friendly. We will stay here again.

The hotel is a little odd in as much as it is 2-3 floors of a larger building with extremely floral wallpaper. That said it was clean and tidy, the rooms are a little on the small side but perfectly ok for a city break. The buffet was better than I had expected and there were plently eating their evening meal from there. We just had breakfast and the odd beer/wine and snack. All in all I would recomend it for the price and the buffet alone. It is in a centralish location, towards the top of La Rambla and close to busses and metro.

Our reservation at the Hotel Continental Barcelona was move to the Hotel Barcelona Palisade. The Palisade was fabulous and the staff were amazing!

really worth it
hotel is located in a building in the famous rambla street. we had a balcony rampbla room with a balcony on rambla stree. good things: room was great for price. there is safe, fridge and even microwave in the room. the balcony on rambla for our room was great and worth the difference with the standard room. really enjoid it. there is a free 24 hr snack bar with lots of options from rice, pasta, pastries, vegetables to the juices, colas, hot drinks and even icecream. it is the generousity of the property owner. the hotel aminities like corridors and stairs inside hotel are very nice and they are like a very well maintained property from 1900. also they are really clean. the bathroom was good also with a shower hoewver there was not bidet there. nice staffs. bad things: nearly there was very limited options in addition to the snack bar for breakfast. the common area of the building that hotel is placed in (not the hotel itself) is a bit old and maybe you got not good impression for the first time. but dont worry. as you enter the hotel, you will love it. overall: absolutely worth the price.

The room and bathroom were spotless and up to date. The location was right on the Ramblas which was great for walking. We had a balcony overlooking the Ramblas and it was surprisingly quiet. The halls and lobby were a little dated but okay. The free buffet was nice but not great. It was the same food every day. My big comment would be to not freak out when you see the exterior of the building from the street. All the good parts of the hotel only become visible once you get inside the final solid door. My wife commented that it was like a Harry Potter surprise!

We chose this hotel for it's location and that they have a 24 hour buffet. The entrance to the hotel is a set of steps and a lift. Once you enter the reception you are greeted by friendly staff who showed us all the amenities. What really blew my mind was the quality of our room. It was beautifully clean and well set out. It had all you'd expect including a small fridge and a microwave. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The property is well located in Las Ramblas. The room was clean and decent. However, it’s very outdated. The pictures online reflect the hotel years and years ago. It’s run down currently. Another downfall is the fact that they use an actual key for the rooms and before u leave the hotel you must leave the key with the receptionist and pick it up before heading to the room. This is very inconvenient considering you have to stop at reception first and then take the elevator to your room and the same on the way out. If you don’t care about these things and are looking for good location and low cost you might want to give this place a try.

The location is great, next to la Rambla. So many places to see and visit just by walking. They have breakfast and an open buffet all day long… even the beer was included. Room is small to my taste, but I was just there to sleep. I would book again.

Loved this hotel- it is an older location but very well maintained. The security of the location is excellent since it is a shared entrance, the staff always made sure that only those who were staying there entered. We had a balcony room overlooking La Rambla and it was great. We loved sitting on the chairs watching the hustle and bustle of activity. Although this is a very popular thoroughfare, it was not overly noisy. The room had very comfortable twin beds and a great bathroom with a rain shower head. It was always tidy and clean when we returned from our daily adventures. The breakfast food selection was great and we got our fill. Loved that they had snacks 24/7 if you wanted some. The outdoor eating area in the garden was tranquil and lovely, even with the pigeons. They added to the atmosphere. The staff was welcoming and friendly. They helped us by answering any questions that we had. The hotel itself is located very closely to the bus line, metro station and there were always taxi's to be found. We had a lovely three day stay and will most definitely be back. Thank you

Old dirty hotel. The room was the size of the bed and the window opened to a dark wall. The sheets were not washed with several hairs on the pillow case and when I asked for them to get changed when we went out was told they did get changed but in fact they were not as I marked them with a lip pencil. Do not go to this hotel.

We loved the hotel’s location on las Ramblas, as well as their outdoor terrace, where we would relax in the afternoon and evening after exploring Barcelona. Breakfast was varied and excellent and we especially enjoyed sitting on the front balcony watching Las Ramblas come to life. Our room was nicely furnished and had a large shower in the bathroom. Would highly recommend staying here!

This is one of the oldest hotels in Barcelona. It is right on Las Ramblas boulevard that runs through city center. This is a great location if you are in Barcelona to sight see, go to museums, go to the gothic quarter, explore the culture, shop, and have quick access to the metro, the bus, or cab, we walked to the beach one day as well. The hotel also offers breakfast and a small snack bar with cookies, pastries, fruit, vegetables and other offerings as well as beverages so bring your water bottle. It will save you time and money. It’s a clean and affordable hotel with the quaint feel of old Europe. The staff is excellent. It is old so if high end luxury is your thing this is not for you. It does however match the person who is on a budget has an appreciation for the authentic and classic as well as does not plan to spend the day in the hotel. There is no pool but a great open patio and one seating balcony does look out over Las Ramblas. There is an open market daily in walking distance, a primak clothing store on the corner, and the Hard Rock Cafe.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Continental. The location was central to the area we visited. We were able to walk to almost all the attractions we wanted to see. The metro station is close as well as the bus stop from the airport. They offer a continental breakfast for free as well as a snack barthat is available 24 hours for free. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, and the room was air conditioned. We would recommend this hotel to friends and definitely come back here for a future visit.

Close to everything. Literally the Rambla asters, Older, but rooms updated, AC works great, elevator, staff is super friendly and know hospitality!! Breakfast buffet , and some meals buffet through the day , which was an unexpected value!! Wish US hotels would follow like this

A property that needs to be experienced. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was not off La Rambla but was very quiet and spacious enough for our needs. While the decor is dated, we really warmed to it. We enjoyed the outside eating area and the 24 hour food and beverage availability. It is very conveniently located to many areas we wanted to visit. As opposed to other comments, we did not feel unsafe at any time. It was a great place to stay for a couple days prior to our cruise. It is a little difficult to gain entrance outside of using the elevator as you have to turn your room key in anytime you are leaving. But this was something we adapted to as we enjoyed the overall experience.
