“Great Hotel”
The Ayre Hotel Rosellon was the perfect hotel for us. We arrived at around 12pm, with the intentions of asking the hotel to store our luggage until check in at 2pm, but when we went to ask they informed us our room was ready and we could go straight up. Our room was clean and comfortable and just like the images. We also made full use of the roof terrace - the views of Sagrada Familia are breathtaking. Unfortunatley, there is no bar up there so we did have to get drinks downstairs to bring up. We were only board and discovered on the second day that the bar area did a very reasonably priced breakfast deal - 3.50 euros for coffee, juice and a croissant. The hotel staff are all friendly and willing to help - we were provided with a map and info on checking in and even learnt some catalan from the barman. While there are alot of restaurants and shops around the hotel, we found it extremely easy to use the metro to get around, especially to La Rambla. There is a metro station about a minutes walk from the hotel and it was nice and cheap - only let down was that it shut at 12am. Would recommend sticking out the bus journey to the hotel, as cost us about 10 euros for two - with a bit of walking. But our taxi on the way back to the airport was 37 euros! Overall, we would recommend this hotel to anyone and would definatley go back.
“Amazing Views of La Sagrada Familia”
So long as you get a room on the elevation of the hotel facing La Sagraga Familia (room 601 - PERFECT!!) then the views are breathtaking. The hotel is band new so very clean and modern, the staff were all very attentive and helpful when required. Breakfast on the 1st floor restaurant was was help yourself buffet style continental (cold meat, cheese, cereal, scambled eggs, chorizo, fruit juice and coffee) which was fine but it is pricey. Better to go the coffee bar area in the lobby and get coffee, orange juice and pastry/croissant which is much more rerasonable. The hop on - hop off buses (both red and blue lines) both converge at La Sagrada Familia which is 2mins from the hotel & there is a metro (underground) line right there also which is dead easy to use - so all in all the perfect location to explore the whole of Barcelona which it has to be said is fantastic - we had three full days there and did everything possible in the time we had - oh the sangria is soooo good!!
“Enjoyed our stay”
The Ayre Hotel Rosellon is located around the corner from La Sagrada Familia and you can see this landmark from the hotel. The Metro station is very convenient so it is easy to get around Barcelona. The neighborhood also has many restaurants & stores within walking distance. The style of the hotel is very modern. We like the walk in shower and modern room, but it might not be to everyone's taste. Internet access from the room (with our own laptop) was free and fast. We were able to get a reasonably priced light breakfast in their cocktail/eating area. The hotel also offers a buffet breakfast. The staff were friendly and quickly responded to any requests. The only negative for our room--we were on the second floor on the street side so we got some street noise. It was not a major problem, but a room facing the opposite side would have been much quieter. In all, we enjoyed our stay and would consider the hotel again if we ever go to Barcelona.
“Clean, modern hotel, close tourist attractions”
All staff in the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and modern is style. The hotel is very close to the Sagrada Famila, the best view is from the roof terrace. You can pay an additional fee per night to have a view of the Cathedral from your room, but it is slightly obscured by the building in front. I would recommend the roof terrace or walking 3 mins around the block to see the full view! It is in a high tourist area, so you can hear slight traffic noise and people, if you want a quiet stay, it would be worth staying away from tourist attractions. The buffet breakfast is a selection of fruit, cereals, meats, cheeses and the will cook a eggs and bacon at request, this is included in the buffet price. There are plenty of cafes surrounding the hotel too. I didn't eat an evening meal, but light bites are available from the bar. Lost of restaurants are close by. The only downside to the stay, was that it was advertised as a double room. The room was actually two single beds pushed together to create a double. This wasn't very comfortable for two people sharing. But overall was a good a good stay.
“Excellent service”
This hotel was excellent value for money. Breakfast though was expensive, but plenty of places to take breakfast nearby therefore this wasn't a problem. Really helpful and pleasant staff. Approx 250 metres from the nearest Metro stop which is a cheap and quick way of getting around. Very convenient for the Sagrada (great view from hotel terrace), and the wonderful modernist buildings at the Hospital de la Santa Creu. Visit the hospital; anyway a guided tour (approx 1 hour) is half the cost of the visits to some of the other modernist buildings in the city centre, as well as being an opportunity to see a complex, rather than an individual building
“Have breakfast with Sagrada Familia views like no other!”
Great staff, and rooms as advertised.
“Very good place in Barcelona”
The hotel is a block away from la Sagrada Familia and we had a view of it from our room. The windows CAN NOT be open , which makes the eyes itchi in the morning from the AC. There is also a terrace ot the roof with a great view of Barcelona, the Torre AGBAR and the mountains. The hotel is very well maintained, with AC in the coart yard, but not in the corridors. The room was decorated with a touch of futuristic style - clever use of the available space with a small fridge, table / only one chair for two of us/,very clean.
“Would book there again - excellent value and great location.”
We found the front desk personnel very helpful and friendly with sufficient English knowledge. Good hotel for a good price, and very close to the Metro.
“Very nice hotel”
I like this hotel very much. The room was clean, and as an extra treat, my room was facing the Sagrada Familia Church - what a view! I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Barcelona. It's not at the busiest part of the city (which I like), but getting to the busiest part of the city (Las Ramblas) is quite easy. The Metro is just a block away. The only reason I gave service a 4 (out of 5) is because I wanted to get some tapas at the lounge/bar one night (they are reasonably priced at this hotel) and I was sent to the the terrace. The view is nice up there, so I didn't mind, but when I got up there, no one was there. No food, no service, nothing. What the?!
“Great Barcelona hotel”
Loved this hotel and would definitely stay there again. Close to the metro for exploring Barcelona. The staff spoke excellent English (if you need that) and were extremely helpful. The rooms were modern and comfortable.
