My first impression of AinB was not the best - I let expedia know so the very next day. Check-in was chaotic, the apartment was dark, in mediocre condition, and the view was of an abandoned building. I called Expedia and the management to see what I could do to cancel the reservation and began researching other available accommodations. To my surprise, Expedia contacted management on my behalf and AinB offered to move us to another apartment but I would have to wait until Monday for either maintenance to try to address my concerns or for a manager to authorize a move or a cancellation/refund. Overall, the apartment did not live up to expectations (one burner on the stove didn't work, no coffeemaker, there was no tv signal, a broken lamp, scuffed walls and gnats.)
Management moved us Monday afternoon to a different apartment on the same floor, and this apartment looked like the apartment in all the advertisements - two huge doors that opened to a balcony facing the street. Light-filled, airy and nicely decorated. It was more apartment than we needed as it had two bedrooms on the second floor, but it was absolutely lovely and easy to move into since it was just a few doors away. Kudos to management for making it right for us! We spent four more nights and had a lovely time in the apartment. It's close to the Ramblas, the beach, the metro, the Borne neighborhood and really good, affordable food/drink. I would recommend it to independent types.
