The Abba Rambla is located in the Cuidad Vella neighborhood, which is lively and diverse and has a large courtyard/plaza across the street. The hotel space was clean. However, the room was quite small for the price that we paid. I was expecting more space and more updated design for the price. The hotel staff was kind and helpful including offering restaurant recommendations and a city map. The breakfast add-on was convenient since we had to catch an early morning train and many of the area businesses do not open until 10am or later. The quality and selection of the breakfast was good.

Each time we come to Barcelona, we stay at the Abba Rambla Hotel. It is located 20 minutes from airport, 5 minutes from cruise port, a few minutes walk from the Rambla, rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast buffet is fantastic and hotel employees are friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel 👍👍👍👍👍

The hotel is excellent, very clean and well appointed. It's clean with efficient and friendly staff. Step outside the hotel and it's an appalling sight, with pick pockets, groups of intimidating youths and rubbish everywhere. Not the fault of the hotel, but Barcelona will become a no-go city for tourists and conference delegates if the situation declines any further.

Hotel good value for money, not a great location
The hotel room was extremely clean, comfortable and the hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful. The location of the hotel (El Raval) was not particularly nice - lots of homeless people and drug users nearby. I did not feel safe walking around the area with my wife and son. We were warned by a taxi driver and also the hotel staff of pickpockets and muggings outside the hotel. This was our third time visiting Barcelona and have never felt unsafe previously.

We checked in and went to the room. The door jamb was broken from a previous break in attempt. The room was very disappointing especially the bed. The atmosphere outdide of the hotel was also very disappointing, didn't feel save walking in the area.

Look out for dishonest pricing on this website
I feel extremely ripped off by this hotel. When we booked the hotel through hotels.com the rate was supposed to be just over 100 dollars with the discount applied through the website. The baseline rate it said was $125 a night, before the hotels.com discount. But they didn’t charge us when we booked, instead the front desk charged us over $600 dollars for our four nights when we got there. I suspect they thought they could rip us off with no complaints since we are American tourists. I don’t like to complain or make a fuss while I’m still on vacation btw. Had the stay been pleasant, I wouldn’t be taking the time to write this negative review now. The room was fine, adequate enough, but not worth the rate they ended up charging, which again is not what we were told online. My main complaint, other than overcharging us, is that our room for 2 nights did not have working AC during an extremely hot week in Barcelona during a heat wave in Europe, and they did nothing to discount us other than comp us one breakfast, which by the way was not good at all. It turned out that the AC had not been working for many rooms the first night. By the second night, they had fixed it for all rooms except ours and a hotel staff member came to investigate and could do nothing. He just offered us an available room with working AC with an out of order bathroom (gross). We stuck it out and finally changed rooms before the third night. My GF asked them to comp a night for us, but they wouldn’t do it.

Check-in was easy, but everything went downhill from there. First, the AC in the room didn't work. This for me was a big deal because I am unable to sleep when it's very hot. They were unable to fix the AC that evening, so I endured a night of poor sleep. Then, the next day I was lying in bed and someone keys into the room without knocking, saying they're coming in, etc. It was not the cleaning people (they had come by earlier and I had told them that I didn't need service). A man walks in, looks at me lying in bed and then stands there chuckling. I ask him in English what he's doing to which he responds that he doesn't speak English. I ask him in Spanish what he's doing, and he then says that he doesn't speak Spanish either. He then rushes out of the room without another word. I was sick during this trip, so I didn't have the energy to leave the hotel, or else I absolutely would have. So instead, I spent the entirety of the remainder of the trip nervous that someone was going to spontaneously enter my room and destroy any sense of privacy. The staff at the front desk was not accommodating about this at all.

Not the best experience to be honest. Hotel location was good. Close to La Rambla and all major attractions and easy to find. However the comfort was not great. Noisy room, uncomfortable mattress, no hot water one morning, very squeaky bed (and i mean everytime you move). Hard to say why but we didn't have single night where we slept well. Just one of those where it should be good but for reasons hard to explain wasn't.

Service was excellent at the front desk. We were given an early check in and late check out. They even advised us on closest PCR testing station. The hotel room was big and spacious with a nice view from the balcony. About 8 mins walk to the main street. The immediate neighbourhood had many indian, pakistani and arab restaurants if you are looking for halal food.

Terrible customer service from this hotel and Expedia . Booked for our honeymoon in February, upon or late evening arrival the room was very warm . We tried adjusting the thermostat. When it wasn’t cooling the very small room down we approached the front desk. The person working the desk asked another worker to check it okut and we were told the ac unit was not working but to give it some time. We went to dinner and the room was still uncomfortably warm upon our return. We opened the windows ( no gates or screens) but it did not help and we were not comfortable sleeping with them open. The hotel is not in the best neighborhood . We approached the desk again and they showed us other rooms but they were still uncomfortably warm . We were in contact with Expedia and the hotel for hours and begged for them to refund us as their Expedia ad states their is air conditioning. We had to find a new hotel at midnight as we had early reservations the next day and needed to go to sleep. Nothing was done by either company to fix this situation after continuous phone calls and emails .

Lovely hotel only a 5-10 minute walk from La Rambla. Staff were always smiling...even when we were not looking at them. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and the area was kept very clean.

Nice place to stay
Just two blocks off the Rambla, this hotel is close to alot of good eatery, and shopping. Off the Rambla and all of its noise and business. The staff was great, Nice place to stay in a multi-culture neighborhood. We felt very safe and comfortable.
