“A wonderful hotel!”

We stayed at the AB Viladomat for 3 nights before our cruise left. The hotel was FANTASTIC. The frontdesk clerks were UNBELIEVABLE helpful, each night I asked them for advice on what to see the next day and they gave great advice. The hotel is slightly outside of the main tourist areas, but is a pleasant walk from Placa Espanya and other hubs for public transportation. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone spending time in Barcelona

Hotel staff all very helpfull.Breakfast very good plenty of choice Could have as much as you liked. Ten minute walk to metro which was very cheap to use, and very frequent service. Very nice room.

“Geat Hotel”

This is a very good, modern hotel which feels much better than it's 3 star rating if you like your hotel room to be clean and impersonal (which I do). The only possible downside would be the location in L'Eixample. For me it is a nice leisurely 15 minute stroll through leafy streets to Placa Cataluntya . To others this may seem like hard work, so a taxi (inexpensive)could be the best option.

“Lovely hotel, slightly far from town but excellent transport links”

The hotel earned every one of its three stars and more. It seems they are accustomed to business travellers more than tourists but it was great to stay in as a tourist too. The rooms are very clean with wood floors and air con so a gorgeous relief in the summer! The bathrooms are spacious, done in marble with white porcelain, have a bath with shower over and the shower has good pressure. They also have a bidet as well as a toilet! The staff are very courteous and speak four languages. There is a nice looking restaurant and bar but I didn't use them. There is a mini bar in the room which is not badly priced but room service is pricey. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room but this might be a cultural thing, I'm not sure. Breakfast is pricey at 12 euros for a croissant and orange juice and the surrounding suburban area does little in the way of breakfast so getting it included will be a big help. If necessary though, there is a supermarket literally across the road. This hotel is quite far from the tourist areas but near three metro stations and also the main station Sants Barcelona where you can get the train to the airport or the coastal train for some gorgeous beaches. Train prices are extremely cheap so I found being near these stations was excellent.

Nice hotel, good price, includes free wireless internet. Only downside a fair walk from the nearest Metro station.

“Excellent hotel, great value for money”

I stayed here in July 2007, for a weekend. For the price of the hotel, compared to other hotels in central Barcelona it was excellent value for money. The room was absolutely spotlessly clean, and a decent size. The only issue was that it had only one very small window. However, as it was the middle of summer I spent very little time in the room. The free broadband was an excellent benefit for looking up city facts etc., and is a facility many hotels charge a large fee for. I only ate breakfast in the hotel, for which there was only a limited selection of cereals, cold meats, pastries, fruit, and coffee. But it was sufficient to start the day. The hotel is well located, though a flat 15minute walk to the shopping district and a metro ride (nearest stop 5 minutes walk) to the beach and port area. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, well located, hotel offering value for money in Barcelona. I will stay again

“Great value hotel for low cost short holiday!”

Couldn't have asked for much more with hotel as we only slept there. Did not eat there but seemed a little expensive... Location was perfect for me as I didn't mind the 20minute walk to the main 'placa catalunya' where la ramblas is etc. Well worth getting the open top bus for sightseeing as much cheaper than taxis everywhere and easier to find them all! Taxi from airport was just over 20 euros on the way there and alot more on the way back due to a cheeky taxi man (booked by the hotel) Overall, would definitely go back... Would maybe look for a hotel a bit closer but probably wouldn't find it as cheap!

“Great Hotel”

Very well maintained and clean hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff, with excellent housekeeping. Location was a little out of the way from the main attractions (which is probably a good thing for getting a decent nights sleep), but the nearest metro station (Urqell) was only 10 minutes walk away. The only downside was the poor internet wireless service/reception.
