The AC Som, Barcelona, has 102 guestrooms, all of which are outward facing with views of the surrounding area. Recently designed with an eye for detail, all the rooms are decorated in neutral gray tones with deep red accents. Dark wood furniture is cleverly built to fit the shape of the rooms with desks, headboards, and bedside tables creating sleek lines and convenient spaces.
Complimentary minibars, daily newspapers, and in-room safes are provided. Smoke-free rooms are available and some have wheelchair access.

Dining

“Excellent Hotel”
Great hotel, clean, comfortable and very friendly & helpful staff. Location is good as the metro & bus stops are just across the road which makes getting to the airport or city centre very easy, and the surrounding neighbourhood is quiet. Only thing i would say is that the air con isn't the best so it can be pretty hot, especially at night. But overall i would definitely recommend

très bon confort. Accueil agréable avec personnel parlant français. un peu excentré mais proche des arrêts de transport en commun nous emmenant directement dans le centre de Barcelone en 15 minutes. Très bien hotel calme à recommander. bon rapport qualité prix.

“Rapport qualité/prix très attractif”
Situé dans un quartier calme, à 300m d'une station de métro. L'ensemble de l’hôtel est design et moderne, vaste hall d’accueil. Réception rapide et courtoise et en français. Propreté des chambres irréprochable, bonne insonorisation, salle de bain avec WC très bien équipée aucun défaut à signaler. Le prix du petit déjeuner est un peu élevé mais présente un choix très large et permet de se servir copieusement.

Très bon hotel, propre agréable, wifi ds le hall, moderne, mini bar rempli ts les jours, chambre propre pas trop bruyant. Situé dans une zone idéal, CC Gran Via 2 à 2 min a pied (très grand centre commercial avec Burger king, kfc, carrefour, zara, bershka, decathlon etc..)station de bus a 5min a pied. fréquence des bus pour l'aéroport:10min meme le dimanche, fréquence des bus pour place espanya: 5 min. Station RER à 5min. En bus place espanya à 15 min. En RER: entre 5a10 minutes de la place espnya. prévoir 25-30min pour faire l'hotel jusqu'a barceloneta (plage de barcelone). desservi par le noctilien de Barcelone (3 ligne différentes. Je vous conseil cet hotel.
“Modern Convenience for Barecelona”
AC Som is a sleek, modern, clean hotel outside Barcelona yet very accessible to both the airport and the city center, all at a very reasonable cost. From the airport, you can use the R2 Renfe train, then change at the 2 nd stop (Belvitge) and transfer to any train headed toward the Placa Espanya. Get off at the 2nd stop (Ildefons Cerda) walking towards the Gran Fira 2 mall across the highway. From there, it is diagonally across the street southeast. If you take a cab, tell the driver it's near the Gran Fira 2, or have him call for directions, otherwise you might wind up near the hospital on a street by the same name in Barcelona city. To get downtown, go to the Ildefons Cerda station 2 blocks north. By a T-10 ten trip multi person transit ticket. Use it for all people in your party, all directions, about 7.80 euros. Board any train headed to Placa Espanya, where you'll transfer to the Green L3 metro(Trinitat Nova direction). Just 2 stops away is Parallel (for the Montjuic tram) or continue to the 3rd stop Drassanes to walk La Rambla or stroll the old port. To get to the cruise ships, you need to take a taxi.
“Great place to say”
Location is about 2.5 miles from central Barcelona. However, there is a bus that comes by about 3-blocks and many buses/subway on Gran Via road about 5 short blocks away. Service level and attitude of staff was excellent. Parking is available in garage inside hotel on on nearby streets. Has CNN Europe and BBC service. Room was good-sized and well furnished with minibar included. A contemporary,upscale room and hotel. Several restaurants nearby including 'Maxi' a local wtih a Catalan memu feauring good seafood and beef. Was jammed (inside and out) on a recent Saturday afternoon. Very large indoor shopping mall abou 4-blocks away wih upscale stores, cinema, and huge Carrefourr food market on lower level with the most exotic variey of seafood I have ever seen in a supermarket.
“Great Hotel”
Overall, one of the best hotels I have stayed in. There is a bus that brings you from the airport close to the hotel, bus 46, and continues into the city. Night buses are also available in case you want to stay out late, N15 goes from La Rambla to a stop 5 minutes walking from the hotel. It's a little far from the city but Barcelona's transportation system makes it easy to get to and from the hotel with minimal problems.
“AC HOTEL SOM”
This hotel is actually owned by Marriott now and offers a free minibar just like the AC Diplomatic in Las Ramblas. AC Som's two best features are the location across the street from a shopping mall, Gran Via 2, that holds a huge multistory Carrefour and the free breakfast buffet. The closest tourist destination is the Spanish Village. That is also the closest tourist bus stop but we decided to take taxis everywhere which averaged $6 to $10. Barcelona was experiencing a record number of visitors and we noticed huge lines and waits for the tourist buses but many available taxis parked right at La Sagrada Familia and other destinations. The hotel staff spoke adequate English and I used the dry cleaning service which was prompt. This hotel was a great price and we stayed 4 nights. Would stay again. Our window faced the shopping mall where we had lunch or dinner daily. Taxis stopped frequently in front of the hotel but staff called one for us on the last day to depart for our cruise ship which cost about $12. The trip from the airport to this hotel was $32. Due to low cost of taxis this hotel was a bargain compared to prices of hotels in Las Ramblas area.
