Barbados Beach Hotel

Posted 1-Jul-2014
Pros: Rooms were simple and elegant. The location was excellent
Cons: More variety of food in the hotel's restaurant
Location: Far from the main city, but close to the airport.
This was my first time staying at a hotel in Barbados and I will probably be back at this hotel. The hotel is location is far from the city, but its proximity makes it an ideal short trip to the airport. The area is quiet except for the sea breeze and waves crashing on the shore, but I don't think that will be a problem. Overall the hotel is a nice little getaway from it all and is adequate for those who need that quiet time.

A Little Piece of Paradise

Posted 19-May-2014
Pros: Rooms are nice and accommodating. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly, beach is beautiful. They have very good security.
Cons: Internet and restaurant costs
Location: Surfer's Bay bar and grill, the surf shop next door has food and drinks. The closest supermarket is in Oistons.
We stayed there just recently. The hotel is lovely and the rooms are very clean. As an elite plus member they did upgrade us to a room which was ocean front. If you want ocean front you better specify because on of their buildings is ocean view and is across the street. The room was nice and had a refrigerator and a microwave. I do suggest going to the supermarket for water, beer, and snacks. The restaurant at the hotel has decent food but it is very expensive. You can go right next door to the surf shop and get beer for $2.00/ each its about $5.00 at the hotel bar. You can also go to surfers bay restaurant and bar which is a short beach walk and has good food and is very reasonable. Nice place to hang out. The hotel is a bit far but if you have a car its not that bad. Honestly we loved the seclusion. The pool area is lovely there are beds all around the pool and ocean front to lay on. You might wanna invest in a small cooler to bring drinks to the pool area so you don't have to buy them from the bar. The hotel staff is super friendly. My main complaint was the internet service was terrible. If you are ocean front you CANNOT get internet in your room. If you are on the street side you can get internet. I was not happy about that because it said internet in all the rooms but I am told they are working on that. All and all is was an amazing vacation. Barbados is beautiful and I cannot wait to return. Nice place for couples or families.

Great choice.

Will go back! We all felt like we found a hidden gem. Location - wonderful and quiet, a bit remote - not much within walking distance so transportation is needed if you want to get around. Beach - beautiful, soft sand; ocean is wavy with a mild current. Staff - restaurant and bar staff were outstanding - friendly engaging. Reception - not friendly, but professional. The towel guy was horrible - but there's always one in a crowd. Food - very good - the fish cutter was delicious.

Don't do it

First off, it is hard to get to. It is in a not so well neighborhood. I am disappointed w/ expedia for having it as a VIP access hotel!!! This hotel tries to be upper class but is far from it! Hotel seemed run down, you can help but feel uneasy while you are there. The whole time my wife and I just wanted to go home. Will probably quit using expedia!

Excellent Hotel next to the beach - quiet/peaceful

Posted 24-Apr-2014
Pros: Staff are very friendly, courteous, and helpful. The food at the restaurant is excellent - I would rate as one of the best on the island.
Location: Toured the St. Lawrence Gap for local restaurants and nightlife, Oistens Fish Market on Friday evenings, Barbados Golf Club, Calabaza Catamaran Tour.
For my wife and I this is our third visit to SilverPoint. We have traveled many of the Caribbean islands and this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The oceanfront rooms are excellent. The hotel's restaurant is first class. Also enjoyed the live musician that played guitar daily next to the main floor restaurant. For those who enjoy a quiet relaxing vacation with great food, SilverPoint is the place to stay!

Nice hotel close to the beach

Good hotel with friendly staff. Very good breakfast (toast, eggs, bacon). Great view of the beach from my room. Seem to have a small sewer problem though which was rectified in a reasonable time. Reasonably priced.

Hotel was very pretty, but extremely expensive

Posted 31-Mar-2014
Hotel resteraunt was overpriced and had a small menu, The location was far from any amenities therefor a cab or car is essential. The property was relaxing and Extemely pretty, Room was good! But only the bedroom had air conditioning . Making the sofa bed area uncomfortable to sleep as it was humid I would however, visit again as the good outweighed any poor!

I love the feeling of seclusion, even though the hotel is not too remote. Peaceful, good food and nice staff. I will definitely return!

Decent hotel. Impossible to find.

Nice little out of the place that use some signage! I've been to barbados a dozen times so getting lost is nothing new, but this place was only found after spotting kite surfers, which we knew frequented the hotel.
