It was close to what I was expectingPosted 26-Nov-2013
Pros: The staff was good.
Cons: The comfort of the bed- oh so hard..
I guess I have been spoiled in the past.. I'm used to staying at places like the Westin and Mariotts, I knew this place wasn't anywhere as nice as those places- reality hit when I was there. I am now realizing I have turned into a bit of a snob. The Dover Beach Hotel was fine, it reminded me of a beach house type of place> I really liked that it was right on the beach- didn't like that I couldn't get a chair on the beach- I walked to another beach about 1/2 a mile away and got a chair, table, and umbrella to lay on- that worked out well. the bed was very hard and uncomfortable, the room was very clean and the staff there was great. For a cost effective vacation I would stay there again.

Reasonable locationPosted 6-Nov-2013
Pros: Good location. Beside a very nice beach.
Cons: Rooms a bit worn. Bathrooms can do with a full make over. Never the less clean. Some staff very friendly, others need to learn from colleagues.
Location: Easy to walk to surrounding restaurants. Great is walking distance to night life in St Lawrence Gap and the nightlife. Oistins closeby try on Friday.
Wanted a reasonably priced hotel in a good location. Close to St Lawrence Gap. On paper this hotel ticked the boxes. Wifi access not the best.

Great vacationPosted 28-Oct-2013
The hotel was in the best location. The Gap was a 15-20 min walk. The grocery store is 5 mins away. The beach is clean only thing there is no beach chairs for this hotel. You have to rent it from some people on the beach $5 for 2 days. Staff was very helpful. Shan at the front desk was glad to help. Bar staff were great! No complaints on my end. I had a blast!

Dover Beach Hotel- Oct 2013Posted 24-Oct-2013
Pros: I love that it was located on the beach. I like that it was walking distance to the restaurants and night clubs of St. Lawrence Gap.
Location: Fish Fry at Oistens, Bridgetown, ATM, Restaurants and Nightclubs.
This experience was a pleasing and welcoming experience to the island of Barbados. The reception is extremely courteous and attentive to the needs of the guests. I was unhappy with the room that was initially given to me and I called reception and my room was changed within 15 minutes. The tour guide table in the main lobby was quite interesting and always had a staff member readily available to help guests. The hotel is ON THE BEACH....which is awesome. Walking distance from all the main attractions of St. Lawrence Gap and about a 10minute cab ride into town. This hotel is a great experience for a tourist who wants close proximity to everything south Barbados has to offer.

Nice hotel on the beach.Posted 21-Aug-2013
Pros: The proximity to the beach
Cons: Internet wifi connectivity
Location: It is close to the things we find necessary.
We had a great time. One day though was a little scary with high winds pushing the waves to the west shore. Other than that our stay at the hotel was convenient and relatively close to the aquatic center that we were also visiting.

Great value & locationPosted 2-Aug-2013 on Hotels.com
I have been to this hotel twice now and would definitely book again. The staff are friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the kitchenette is fully stocked with pots, dishes, toaster & a tea set (which I loved, being a tea drinker in the morning!) You can step out of the hotel directly onto the beach and there is also a terrace on the water to avoid the beach crowds on busy days. The main strip in St. Lawrence Gap with all the bars and restaurants is a five minute walk away and there is a great little canteen right up the road for cheap beer and local food. In terms of value and location, Dover Beach Hotel is hard to beat!

Great value! Half the price of the place next doorPosted 13-Jun-2013
Pros: Staff and price
Cons: No chairs available for the beach.
Location: Secluded, multiple restaurants within 5 minutes walking
Great place for the price. Staff was above excellence, they even did our dishes every morning! Only thing I would suggest is having chairs on the beach for the guests.

great hotel for everyonePosted 21-May-2013
Pros: Service and comfort
Location: Close to all the action
The hotel was excellent. I read some reviews where some people said it was noisy and was not wel kept. The hotel was well kept and looked modern. I got well rested nights. It was close to all the action. Eat at ocean 15 restaurant. There food is so tasty. Its close by. The hotel is on the beach so u will have a great time. The restaurant is a bit small and didn't have much variety. The pool was a bit small too. Other than that the service was exceptional and the hotel experience was great. Will definitely recommend. And you can't get anything better for that price.
