“Crystal Cove”
excellent; food tended to be over cooked; would recommend to couples and families
“Second visit in 6 months, great place”
Second visit, say no more
“Perfection in Paradise”
Just got back to the U.S and wish that I was still a the Crystal Cove Hotel. That place is truly paradise and has a special place in my heart. I cannot wait to go back!
“Lovely Hotel and Staff”
The hotel is small, which is what we wanted, the beach is great with lots of sunbeds and a nice quiet atmosphere. If you want a beach holiday this is a great place, if you prefer a pool side holiday this peobably isn't for you as the 3 pools are very small and you can't swim very far, no lengths etc. The food is good with lots of choice, if you don't like your choice at dinner the staff will bring you something else. Drinks are great, they don't hold back on the cocktails, all made in front of you. One critisism, the dining room is open air and they had a very effective and unobtrusive netting system uo to stop the birds coming in, but half way through the wee they removed it, needless to say at breakfast the birds were all over the dining room, on chairs and tables, a real pest. We and numerous other people complained but the management didn't do anything about it, no explanation, nothing. This is such shame as the hotel and staff are wonderful, would go back again if the netting is up.
“Most Friendliest Place”
This hotel was very clean. Had a very nice staff. All activities were included with the hotel. The only bad part about this hotel is that the pools close at 6:30p.m, they should at least leave the bottom pool open until at least 9p.m. But that does give you time to get ready for dinner and enjoy the local entertainment that they provide, so I guess that's okay.
“Elegant small resort on the ocean”
My husband and I flew in for the Thanksgiving weekend to relax and our mission was fulfilled. Gorgeous views from our ocean view room, every porch had a swing to relax in. There was no shortage of lounge chairs on the beach. Get there early to stake out your location and grab an umbrella. Food was portioned so you do not overeat as it is all-inclusive. Afternoon tea with snacks was a pleasant surprise. Recommend booking an outside catamaran snrokeling excursion to swim with the turtles and ride by the resort Tiger Woods was recently married at. If you like small high-end resorts, this is your best bet.
“Great place to decompress”
This hotel was exactly what we needed to just relax! 8 days was perfect! Rooms are clean w/great A/C. Ocean view rms are awesome!Staff is friendly & helpful.Clean beach towels provided daily. The bus system is right in front of hotel. Holetown is 10 min north by bus. There's room to park a rental if needed. The food was fine. We didn't have high expectations based previous reviews of all hotels...but the food was always fresh, tasty & drinks abound. Order rm service (no addt'l charge!) if you get hungry in btween meals. Don't forget to book for dinner...or you will eat around 8:30 or 9pm. The restaurants are open air for the casual Drifters & under cover for the more formal Reflections. It can be humid for evening meals depending on time of year. Go for the all inclusive. It was worth the time. The island has other restaurants, but if you're looking to just relax, it's nice to know where to go for a meal. The beach is private & a great contained setting for people w/little ones. There were several families on holiday while we were there & we didn't feel disturbed at all by kids being kids! There is enough room to roam. The setting was low key, pool areas & Cave Bar were nice & well maintained. There's plenty of loungers on the beach w/umbrellas for shade.Nice place for Americans to go if you want a change from the USA culture. After hearing about other hotel experiences, we felt very happy w/our choice w/The Crystal Cove.
“What a great hotel”
This hotel was fantastic. Spent a wonderful 10 days here and the staff could not have done more to make you feel at home. The food was lovely and the facilities are top notch. Would definitely go back and hope to do so one day.
“Perfect Honeymoon Location”
My wife and I recently travelled to Crystal Cove in St. James, Barbados for our Honeymoon. The resort is picture perfect, the staff is extremely friendly and knoledgable about the island. Contrary to some of the food reviews I read prior to booking the trip, every meal was excellent!! They have two restaurants: 'Drifters' is a buffet-style outdoor restaurant with excellent food (incl. American cuisine) for lunch and dinner (casual dining); 'Reflections' is an indoor dining restaurant (***Pants/Slacks required for dinner***) serving all three meals, with excellent selection of food from all around the world. The swim-up waterfall cave-bar puts this resort over-the-top in my opinion. Our oceanfront room was extremely clean, and always stocked with 'Banks' (the local beer) and 'Mount Gay Rum' (a true Bajan staple). Take advantage of the hotels free water activities. My wife and I are already making plans to return to Crystal Cove soon. YOU WILL ENJOY THIS TRIP!
“A wonderful trip!”
Crystal Cove Resort was just what we wanted. The front desk was always helpful as were the bartenders (you will soon find your favorite). Activities desk and female restaurant servers were less friendly but that was just a challenge to us to get them to loosen up. Usually it worked. We thought the food was just fine. Was the food 5 star? No, but the all inclusive price wasn't most expensive either. The chicken was usually the best, prepared in various ways. We always found a lounge both on the beach and at the pools. Activities abound. We want to return. One couple had been there 9 times.
