“Wonderful hotel”
We stayed for 2 weeks in September in this hotel and had an amazing time. There was a problem to start with as our room which was on the ground floor had a damp ceiling due to the humidity at this time of year so we requested a room change and were given a lovely room on the 3rd floor above the reception. The staff were so friendly and gave us a free late check out until 6pm.The Turtle Nest Beach bar is great for an easy lunch and Almond Tree restaurant is great for local food for a reasonable $65 B Dollar for 3 courses. The fact that the hotel is on a wonderfully clean beach with loads of sun loungers was the best part and the sea in front of the hotel has breakers so its like swimming in a large bath. The location was perfect as it was on the main bus route to all the attractions. We will be recommending this hotel to friends and family and will definately be returning.
“I felt myself at home”
I was travelling alone for business and I wasn't very happy about that, but the warm welcome and the friendly attitude of the Amaryllis Hotel Staff made me feel at home. My room was located just a few steps from the wonderful beach of the Hotel: from my window I cuold see the beach and the blue sea. It was amazing! Actually, I was sorry to leave only after such a short time, and I promised to myself to go back and enjoy a nice week of vacation as soon as I can.
“Perfect Location”
Highly recommend this hotel when staying in Barbados. The beach was beautiful, perfect for swimming, sitting under the palms and taking long walks. My room opened right onto the grounds and about 20 feet from the sand. Much better atmosphere than staying in a more 'hotel' type location. The restaurant was very good and dining outside at breakfast the view was gorgeous. The staff is more than accommodating in helping you arrange activities and transportation. Bridgetown is a free shuttle away and taxis to any other locations are plentiful. Will definitely return.
“Wonderful, wonderful”
This was our second visit to the hotel, and our fourth visit to the island. Hopefully we can get back there next year. The hotel was great. The beach at the hotel is the best within that row of hotels. The island is really trying to maintain the island feel while upgrading the infra-structure. Most of the roads were well marked and easy to navagiate. While driving on the other side of the road was a little tricky it was fun. The people of Barbados are great.
“Definitely going back and taking others with me!”
I had an ocean view suite that was very close to the stairs and elevator - worked great for me as I am still recovering from a broken leg. I was very impressed that the hotel catered to physically disabled persons. The food was scrumptious, made fresh daily, and the staff were very kind to me as I do not consume beef or pork and they set aside food before it went on the buffet for me. The housekeeping staff were exceptional - the room was kept clean everyday, fresh towels and the sheets were changed twice during my 4 day stay. The beach was AH-Mazing, and the pool was spacious, and kept very clean. I was surprised to find a complete kitchen....not a kitchenette - there was a 2 burner electric countertop stove, mini fridge, kettle, coffee machine, dishes, utensils and a sink. But I don't think I'll ever be cooking...maybe tea or coffee if I'm having a late morning. The boardwalk is 1 beach away and stretches all the way to Accra Beach and I enjoyed walking there everyday. Security was present, so a sunrise walk or tai chi session on the beach or late night swim were all possible. Everyone was friendly. The television needs upgrading. In the bath tub or on the floor just outside of the tub needs a non-skid mat or surface, I slipped twice - no damage. I'll recommend this hotel to anyone. Big plus - Physically
“good beach”
a little old needs some updating.but overall good for the price.you will need a car or use cabs to go off site to eat, unlike prior reviews didn't find much in walking distance.the 39 steps wine bar on site had good food.
“Can't wait to go back”
My husband, 6 yr old daughter and I stayed at the Amaryllis resort from Dec. 21st through Dec. 31st. The resort has very beautiful grounds with lovely flowers. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The hotel has a free shuttle that takes you into Bridgetown for shopping. The beach is just great! The swimming area is perfect for small children as it is protected by a barrier of rocks so that during low tide, it is like a big, warm, clear swimming pool. The ocean water was actually warmer than the swimming pool water and we hung out mostly in the ocean. I strongly recommend getting an oceanfront room. We had booked an oceanfront deluxe room from which we had the most beautiful beach and ocean view! We could hear the sound of the waves every time we sat in the balcony - it was just so relaxing. There is a beach snack restaurant that has the usual burgers, sandwiches and drinks. The menu could use some variety but it is convenient. Also, the main restaurant is a little pricey but as we had a rental car, we went out and had all kinds of great food. Also, we explored the island as there is a good road infrastructure - keep in mind, driving is on the left side. Lots of malls, shopping, restaurants, gardens - just a beautiful island, very safe, very gracious and helpful people and just a great experience all in all! I would wholeheartedly recommend the Amaryllis resort and look forward to returning there in the near future.
“Pleasant enjoyable stay”
This was our first visit to Barbados and booked the hotel and flights through Expedia. We are glad we did, the cost was much lower than independently booking both. The hotel was exactly what we were looking for - quiet, comfortable, and relaxing. We booked a larger room overlooking the ocean and we are glad we did. The beach was great for both swimming and light snorkeling, and the hotel location is perfect. Plenty of lounge chairs on the beach and a delightful seamstress who was making clothes for purchase right on the beach (a nice touch). We rented a car and therefore went elsewhere for dinner. This hotel is perfect for the tourist who wants a stress-free vacation but doesn't need (or in our case, want) the service and extra amenities of a 5-star hotel.
“Will be going back next year again!!!!!”
All around great place to stay.
