“Great hotel and location”
Great hotel, good location - close to all the restaurants and shops. Nice pools and hot tubs - you get access to the resort facilities as well (for a daily fee).
“Great location”
Great location-in the middle of everything and just across Bar Island. While the information on Expedia is is not entirely accurate (for example, there was no minibar and there wasn't much of a view), the room was large with a superb bathroom. The hotel personnel was very courteous and helpful. I highly recommend it.
“Will definately go again.....”
Book last minute, when I checked in they notified me that even though I rented the standard room they had upgraded us because they had a nicer room available for no extra charge. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Had a great harbor view and patio space with lounge chairs overlooking the pool. It was conveniently located to downtown, could walk easily there along Main St. Staff was very friendly, bartender was super nice and funny. Overall excellent hotel and service, we will definately stay here again. Only downfall was the Resort Charge in addition to the room charge that I wasn't aware of until I got the bill in the morning, but they took it off when I said I wasn't informed of it upfront.
“Vacation land”
Beautiful location and great service
“Worth the extra”
My husband and i spent part of our honeymoon here and had a lovely stay. I would say it's definitely worth it to spend a little extra to be right in the Bar Harbor area. It was great not only being oceanside but also to be able to walk just a couple blocks and be downtown. Plan to take advantage of the ocean side pools and hot tub.
“Beautiful Hotel”
Very nice hotel on the waterfront of Bar Harbor. Only complaint is the hotel charged tax on top of the "Expedia Rate." Not a huge deal. Very clean, water views and right around the corner from the heart of Bar Harbor.
“Close to eveything, amazing restaurant”
I've stayed at several good hotels in Bar Harbor (only changed this time because the others were booked), but now that I have stayed at the Harborside it's the only place I want to stay. The rooms themselves are basic, but very clean and new feeling with great views. The hotel itself is very nice - clean and classy without being overdone. You can walk just about anywhere in town in 5 minutes. The staff was friendly and helpful. But the best part was the restaurant - the food was really amazing. Best food in town, on par with (maybe even slightly better than) the also excellent Bar Harbor Inn, and much better than anywhere else I have eaten in town (except Epi's, but that is a different kind of good). After a day climbing the Precipice, it's nice to be able to eat a good meal without having to walk too far! Next time I might take advantage of the Spa facilities (usually a good idea after several long days of hiking).
“Great Hotel !”
We stayed for only one night .. though I wish we could stay longer in this hotel ! The staff were friendly.. the room was very nice.. and there was out-door heated pool and jacuzzi !! what else do you need? :)
“very nice facility with unfriendly staff.”
Very nice facility. Hotel staff were generally unfriendly and performed poorly. Door man rarley acted as such. Housekeeping arrived as late as 3:00 PM. We prefer hotels with management that encourages the staff to greet hotel guests and treat them with respect. The philosophy of management is apparently different here.
“Very nice but expensive”
The Harborside is a wonderful hotel, great location, staff friendly and helpful. Our room was huge- didn't know deluxe meant suite but had no balcony like most of the other rooms. Breakfast was expensive there so we went out. Something continental for the price of the room would have been nice. We also had to keep getting new keys every time we left the room. When we return we might go for something more economical-it is so beautiful there you spend little time in your room. Pool and jacuzzi-great!
