“Great people, great location”
Friendly, helpful staff. Hotel rooms a bit plain, but still nice. Breakfast was good. Cross the bridge, then left to downtown or right to a lovely, groomed trail along the river -- two minutes walking and you're there. Hotel is on the island, practically on the same road as UMaine, which is a minute away by car. They have a large lawn leading down to the river, and canoes and kayaks available for use. Saturdays (Tues in summer) a GREAT farmer's market in the UMaine steam plant pkg lot. We have stayed here many times;you can't beat the location and the friendly staff is willing to help out with any questions or concerns.
“Great hotel. Great for travelers with pets.”
The hotel was very comfortable. We enjoyed the quality of the service. We had a dog with us and we had a ground floor room with a patio leading to a large field behind the property. It all was quite convenient. We would definitely stay there again.

We were very pleased with our stay. It is really close to the Bangor Mall & very easy to find. Staff were very helpful and went out of their way to help us. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. Overall, we recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.
“college stay”
I loved the Inn.it was conveniently located to the college and worked for me coming from out of state.the hot breakfast was an added plus.price was a bit steep .On my last day the power went out but i rolled with the flow and all was well within a couple hours. would highly recommend that they look into a generator for such as they were a couple disgruntled patrons!the staff was great and very accommodating.thanks. wil be back!
“Perfect for a Night”
We recently stayed here overnight, as we live 3.5 hours away from Orono. We had never been to the area, but my other half may be attending UMO in the Fall for graduate school. It was a great place for a quick visit, breakfast was pretty decent! They have just redone the exterior of the motel, and it looks fabulous compared to the old pictures... it fits right in.
“Bangor ME”
The in room kitchen was convenient. The breakfast was filling, but basic. The mojito at the pool was great, with fresh mint. Overall good value for your money.
“Good Value”
Hotel is clean and safe with a good location between the small downtown area of Orono and the University of Maine. Hotel could use updating. Staff was friendly and accomadating. They also have a nice little buffet style breakfast that is included with your stay.

Our stay was pleasant. We were visiting The University of Maine campus. The staff was very friendly.

“recommendation for the University Inn”
Very clean room with comfortable beds. I liked that my sliding glass door looked out over the river. The walls are a bit thin, so noisy if there are a lot of people staying there, but most of my nights there were quiet. (I was working very long days at UME, so a good night's rest was most important to me!) Hot breakfast (7-10am) is better than most hotels:scrambled eggs, bacon, and waffles plus fresh bagels,bread, cereal, yogurts, fruit & juice. (Coffee is terrible, but I bring my own, usually.) Staff is friendly, yet unobtrusive. Location is convenient to the University of Maine campus as well as only 15 minutes from Bangor shopping. I got my room as a discounted rate online, and I feel that it was a good value for the room/breakfast/convenience to UME campus. However, I would not pay the full price for a room there.This is my second time staying at the University Inn for a period of several nights, and I would recommend it to many.
