Posted 23-Feb-2015
Pros: Priced it out on Expedia
Cons: 0
Location: Casino, Mall places to eat historic downtown
Overall very good ATM was not working and construction/renovation made it tough to check in but these kinds of things must take place

Nice stay

Posted 15-Feb-2015
Pros: there was breakfast if you wanted to have it there. There was also a bar to relax at
Cons: heat the tent for the winter
Location: close to the highway. It was cold and snowy, we really weren't there for fun, but would use it again if we were there in that area
we had a nice stay here at the Holiday Inn. It was a little inconvenient to walk in an unheated tent to the lobby ,breakfast and bar in the freezing cold. I'm sure it will be nice once the renovations are done. Besides that everything was great.

Well, the service was excellent...

Posted 9-Feb-2015
Pros: Good service
Cons: Climate control in the rooms.
Location: There's a Dunkin Donuts right next door, which we found very convenient.
I will start by saying the service was excellent. We stayed here during a snow storm and each morning we found the lot plowed and the snow removed from all the cars. When we found that the room service menu in our room was outdated with items no longer offered, the front desk clerk personally delivered a current menu to our room, with a sincere apology for our inconvenience. This is an old building (I'm guessing it was built in the 50s or 60s) which has been fairly well maintained and is kept very clean, but has some of the issues regarding buildings designed during the era in which it was built. The building is a maze of winding corridors, perfectly embodying that old phrase "you can't get there from here". Yes, things are fairly easy to get to if you drive around to a different door (assuming you know which door you need), but that's not highly practical in the driving snow. Our room was much too hot for sleeping, even with the heat turned off completely and the metal framed windows were inoperable due to a heavy coating of ice on the inside. There was no air conditioning, which seems a silly thing to complain about during a stay in a February snowstorm, but there it is.

Hotel was in a good location.

Posted 24-Nov-2014
Pros: They had a lounge with music. It was located right off the interstate and close to the casino and concert venue.
Cons: The chair in our room had a large stain on it with a chunk of something in the middle of it, kind of nasty.
Location: Great location right off the interstate. Near restaurants, shopping, casino, and concert venues.
The hotel offered a free shuttle from the hotel to the casino and the Cross Insurance center. Which was great, no worries about a designated driver or a taxi fee. I was with a large group and they were able to fit all of us in one van. A great feature!!! Also the bed was very comfortable.

Stayed here when we were in the area for a concert, clean, comfortable room. Only drawback was noise in hallway from other guests

Never again

Posted 21-Nov-2014
Pros: Man at the front desk was very good. Price was reasonable, if room had been up to par.
Cons: Most everything.
Location: Location was good.
Checking in was worrisome, loud, really obnoxious music coming from lounge, made it hard to talk to nice front-desk worker. When in room, hallway noise was loud. Pillows were nasty, hard and very thick so your neck was just about upright. Not even able to sleep on one. Room temperature controls not working, we tried everything, so room was very, very hot and not conducive to sleeping! Bathroom did not have fan so ceiling was all cracked and room got very foggy, making mirror useless. Beds smelled of chemical type cleanser. Not a pleasant stay and we are not fussy travelers. Usually like all music and most hotels!!!

Exceptional service under difficult circumstances!

My husband had an accident while in Maine with friends. (we are from NJ). I stayed in the Holiday Inn while he was in the hospital and the night he was discharged. Hotel staff was caring and shuttled us to the hospital and back and airport shuttle also. Restaurant and lounge food and service were very good. Would recommend this hotel highly, only wish we were staying there under better circumstances.

Overnight shopping trip

Posted 18-Nov-2014
Pros: Staff Comfortable beds Clean hotel overall Kids eat free Nice pool Food
Cons: Rooms need a little TLC.
Location: Lots of shopping options nearby.
Wanted a reasonable priced place to stay where the kids could swim. They loved the pool and I loved that they all ate FREE!!! Ate dinner at Pete and Larry's and breakfast in the main dining room and both meals were very good. Waitress Jennifer was awesome at breakfast on Sunday. She couldn't do enough for the guests to ensure everyone was pleased...really went over and above! Rooms need a bit of touching up, but beds were comfortable and the room was clean. We all enjoyed our stay and will definitely return!
