“Better than what I expected!”
I was looking for an inexpensive, quiet, good, clean hotel in an area near the Chao Praya River in order to use the water taxi service. I wanted a big bed with clean white sheets and pillows, tv, fridge, coffee/tea making facility, etc. I got more than what I hoped for including a big room with polished floors, balcony, nice bath with plenty of hot water, even a safe and the bathrobe and slippers I did not think would be part of this bargain price, non-smoking room. I was very, very happy with my room in the New World City Hotel and will be happy to stay there again.
“New Lodge Hotel”
The hotel is very close to the action of Koh San road and all the other sites in Bangkok. The in house travel agent is also very helpful and set us up with a great place to stay in Samui. Great value too.
“superb restaurant”
The staff at this hotel and friendly and helpful. Once we realised that cheap meals on the street are cheap for a reason, we ate the rest of our meals at the excellent hotel restaurant. The massage available within the hotel grounds was reasonable and vigorous. When we explained that we would miss breakfast due to an early flight, the staff arranged a small, takeaway breakfast for us to pick up. Fantastic! The hotel is well-known so taxi drivers don't have any trouble finding it.
“Great hotel, great location”
Great places to eat for cheap nearby. Room even had a nice big balcony. Great patio for brekkie, overlooking a river. Pretty big buffet with different choices daily. Nice and convenient to local attractions plus a friendly tour desk.
“Location”
The location is not too bad at all. The swimmming pool is not theirs that I can see and they wanted more money to use them, also their enterance closes at 11pm but just walk around the corner to the Novo Hotel enterance, no problems. Buffet breakfast is a bit ordinary, but still feeds you up. The upstairs passage ways are not air cond and the veiws are not that great, either stagnant stream or cement walls. Overall not bad for the price you pay for the location.

Really friendly staff good location for all the sights they have a great breakfast no alcohol served on the premises but dont let that put you off I loved it
“Very nice hotel”
A nice, clean tidy hotel. Very nice staff. Good restaurant, but they dont serve alchol. They offer a proper Thai massage which is safe and worth a try. No swimming pool. Close to shops and bars. Easy to find for cab drivers. Area looks a little rough at first, but this is a typical Bangkok street.
“Where to stay if you need to be in the Samsen area”
It is the only real hotel in a relatively quiet, backpack area; a value. Note that it is a Muslim/hallal hotel; no alcohol or pork. Undergoing an expansion that should only improve it.
“Great Service, Basic Hotel”
New World City Hotel is a great place to stay - if you are just looking for a basic hotel. It's not super glamorous, and the bathrooms are not top-of-the-line, but it is a comfy place to stay. The service at the hotel was amazing! Everyone greeted me and my mother DAILY... and they recognized us.... and were always helpful in suggesting places we should go :)
“Fab”
This hotel is great for a one night stay in bangkok if you've just arrived. However, make sure you book exactly the amount of nights you want online otherwise they massively increase the charge. The rooms are clean, air coned and comfortable. However, DONT use the phone. its expensive.
