Good enough for a quick stay
We spent one quick night at this hotel while travelling through Thailnad. Overall, there wasn't much to complain about here. It's close enough to Khao San Road to easily walk there if that's what you're looking for, but without any of the noise that comes with that area. The bed wasn't too comfortable, and there seemed to be stains on the duvet/sheets which wasn't ideal, but the rest of the room seemed pretty clean. It got the job done as a place to sleep, but isn't a place I'd be excited to return to.

The first room we received had a view of a brick wall so therefore was very dark. We had booked for 4 nights and felt that this was not acceptable for this length of stay. We were moved to another room on the second day which was much more acceptable. The male reception staff were rude and obtuse and had no desire to assist us with our request for additional pillows. We were told abruptly that there wasn't any available in the hotel which we found to be quite incredible!

The hotel was very well located, 5 minute walk to the famous KhoaSan Road. The pool area was very nice with good chairs. The only concern we had was the room booked via Expedia. We did received an excellent rate from Expedia but the balcony was horrible. A brick wall with broken glass on top that anybody could easily break in to our room at any time. There was zero view and it would have been better not to even have a window. The rooms with a view or a balcony looked really good. Expedia offered the worst rooms in the hotel. Beware of the cheaper rate rooms as the views and security do not outweigh the cost savings. Now that I look back at the one photo given by Expedia you can clearly see the horrible brick wall you look at when you are on the "balcony". Hotel staff also mislead us telling us that the floating markets were closed when they certainly were not.

Hotel is old and towels smell
The hotel wasn’t bad but I didn’t think it was worth the price we paid for it. First and most important, the bath towels smelled bad and the shower curtain was old and gross at the bottom, I could have overlooked the hotel being old but the smelly bath towels were a deal breaker. I also thought the images of the hotel on the website were a bit misleading, in the photos the hotel looks fairly nice and new but in real life it’s super old. I didn’t mind the hotel being old however I did find the advertising to be faulty. And lastly, the staff was very nice and arranged us a taxi to the airport, however I think they can do better informing their guests of the services they offer, as we were checking out I noticed they do free shuttles to certain tourist areas for free and they didn’t mention that upon our checkin. That could have saved us some money and time walking around the crazy Thai heat

Nice hotel close to markets
Nice hotel it's clean and the rooms are quite big, only thing I didn't enjoy is the shower it can be quite cold if you like a hot shower and isn't that powerful also the wifi can be quite slow at times. Staff are lovely and helpful. It's close to local markets but tuk tuk but not that close to the centre city of Bangkok where the shopping malls are, it's about 40mins would recommend getting a 'grab' taxi

Comfortable hotel with nice staff and food
The hotel is conveniently located to Khao San and the UN office. The staff are friendly, the room is comfortable, and the food is good. I wish the internet speed was faster.

The hotel is very far from public transportation, which would not have been such a big issue, had it not been for the difficulty we faced when looking for cabs. Cabbies will either not know where the place is or refuse to send us to the BTS station because they want bigger fare, I guess. The hotel itself is okay. Tired. Outdated. But clean. And has friendly and helpful staff. They helped arranged for our airport transfer and the cab driver is excellent. He took the time to explain things and was very friendly. Front desk personnel were also very friendly and helpful. Concierge are always ready for assistance and very cheerful. Room is clean and bed is huge. There could've been more power points provided, but we managed with the two that were there. WiFi connection for us at Level 5 was choppy at best and we keep on having to log in.

We enjoyed our stay. Was able to walk to a couple things. Other than that we needed to take transportation to the major things we wanted to see. Although this doesn't bother me much, the rooms could use some updating. Also the pillow was too hard for me. I'm finding the pillows in this part of the world very hard! But that's just me. The hotel staff are very friendly.

Great value for the price
Hotel De Moc was our 3rd place to stay in Bangkok as we wanted to experience different neighborhoods and it was definitely our favourite at the end of a longer vacation! The staff was very friendly and helpful, the location is great if you want to walk around the old city and the amenities of the hotel are great if you just want to relax and enjoy your stay. The pool is big enough for a nice swim and the hotel restaurant is good and not too expensive (for a hotel restaurant). I was surprised by the cheap prices of the in-house massages and even the in-house tailor offers great service and good prices. If you are tired from your holiday this is the best place, you don't even need to leave the hotel premises! If you do venture out there is a great little Chinese coffee shop just on the corner with tasty breakfast choices. All in all great value for the price and I hope to come back one day!

Its right in the center of the city and also only 10 mins away from khao san, the breakfast is nice but I didnt really eat any other meals there. Even standard room does not have a kettle for hot water which was dissapointing as all Indian hotels I stay at have that feature which was missing. Appears to be an old building as the plug points are all over the place and dont make complete sense for modern day charging needs. Staff is courteous and the clenaliness is fine.

We stayed on Songkran , was great, we will be back
I was in the Hotel De Moc 4 ninghts during Songkram 2016, with my wife and 3 year old daughter and it was a great experience,it is far enough from the party to be quiet, but near enough to be in the middle of the water fights in Khaosan Road in just 15 minutes slow walking,really convenient. Also really near from Royal Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun. The chinesse restaurant in the corner is superb, dont miss it! There is a 7eleven very near also. Clean, good design and Good swimming pool. I like it so much that we come back to same hotel on our way back to Bankgok.

Walking Distance to Khaosan and temples.
Overall the hotel was okay. The pool was nice and large, although it closes early at 9 p.m.. It is a short walk to Khaosan rd. for the party go'ers, about 10-15 minutes. The restaurant found on the first floor and cafe seem to be overpriced. Grand palace and temples are within a 30 minute walk.

This was the nicest place I stayed on a trip full of hostels. The only downside was the wifi was very spotty and not very reliable. Other than thst - nice shuttle to khao San road and taxi service to airport

Shabby not chic.
Two powerpoints in room both on the floor in corners,one of them drove the decrepit TV. No coffee makings. When I pointed out the "Standard room"photo they supplied showed coffee stuff and multiple powerpoints at the desk, I was told to ignore the photo and read the fine print. They promoted a free tram tour if you stayed a few nights, but I was told this did not apply to Expedia bookings. The room was clean but scruffy and tired. They call it "Retro" instead of renovating. I left early in disgust and moved to ISanook which is perfect.
