“Annoying Extra Charges”
I stayed at the Rimrock during the slow season...early November...and I was very disappointed to be charged $18 a night to park in their empty lot. Yes, I get that resorts charge and charge...but sometimes you get tired of the nicke and dime approach. Oh, the extra charge for WiFi seemed rather ridiculous also. Nice hotel, but those 'extras' cheapened the experience for me. Especially when the Jasper Park Lodge provided both of those, ahem, 'amenities' (a car is an amenity in Banff? how else are you going to get there?) at no extra charge. The Rimrock is nice; but I know where I'll head next time.
“Very Happy”
It was vey nice and I am very happy I went to the Rimrock
“Great Stay”
Very pleasant hotel staff, and beautiful hotel.
“Impressed with service and quailty. I will be going back again...”
The only thing I can say was that the bed was a little too soft.
“Over rated!”
The lobby level is beautiful including the restaurant and the shops, but the rest of the hotel is nothing special, this place is overpriced and everything is expencive you have to pay for self parking and wireless internet, they nickle and dime you. The hotel is a good distance from Banff, making it Inconvenient. I wont be staying here again.
“Anniversary Treat”
Had an excellent stay for our 7th anniversary at the Rimrock. A very elegant hotel. A nice dinner in the Primrose dining room. Buffet breakfast was great value. I wish hotels would include parking in the room rate. The Rimrock isn't alone here. Seems like a bit of a gouge considering what is paid for the room.
“Nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to park there!”
Beautiful location. We are return guests. Fee for valet parking was ridiculous & cost for self parking was insane given there is no other parking options & hotel does not secure lot against theft & vandalism. Hotel reception seemed not too "receptive" to booking on line through "expedia" at the last minute. Given that most other hotels in Banff do not charge a daily parking fee while staying at their location, I would probably not stay here again.
“We loved loved”
We had never been to Banff and were totally impressed with the Rimrock. When we arrived early and our room wasn't ready the hotel oftered us an upgraded room for a short wait. The Rimrock is close to the gondola and upper hot springs... Great location and free shuttle bus from the hotel into Banff. The pool and hot tub were really great too! We would definately return.
“Best hotel in Banff”
Top of the line hotel in Banff. Only mild negative is the drive up a narrow and winding road to get to the hotel. Not really a problem during the summer but could be hazardous during the winter (but of course it's not really up to the hotel to pay for road construction). Very convenient self-parking (I hate Valet parking), but can choose Valet if that's your wish. Wifi or internet access, which is really a necessity these days, should be included in price of room.
“Worth the Price”
We got a premium room with the mountain view and enjloyed having the view every day.
