“Yuck!!!”
The hotel was next to a bar and restaurant (attached) with live music at night. The curtains on the window (which faced the street) were very thin and did not block the light and could be seen through. The beds were old and very uncomfortable. The type of people that hung around the place were seedy and very suspicious looking.
“Nice friendly experience”
The hotel is conveniently located at the end of the main street on the creek. It is quiet, clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was most enjoyable and good value.
“Nice place for a short stay”
Nice place to spend the night. Would recommend to people interested in spending time outside rather than in the hotel room.
“" Friendly hotel service in a great mountain town"”
Excellent coffee in the morning, magnificent view of the mountains named 'The Three Sisters', good pub, what more could one ask for. The art work in the town is inspired by the awesome mountain scenery.
“Location, location, location”
Drake Inn in itself is a fairly typical motel, with comfortable, simple rooms. Two things set it apart to make it special. First, it has associated with it the Drake Inn Pub, which is probably the best bar in Canmore. It has a great atmosphere and often has fun bands. If you want to go out, without having to drive afterward, that's a big plus. Also good is that the Drake Inn rooms are separated enough from the pub that noise is not an issue. The best feature is its location. Canmore is a spectacular mountain setting. The Drake is at the end of the main street in Canmore, allowing walking access to all amenities, including the mountain nightlife.
“A Canmore Institution”
The Drake is conveniently located near a main street downtown. While it is not a luxury inn, it is comfortable, affordable and has a great pub for lunches and suppers. If you choose you can simply cross the creek and walk a few blocks to other restaurants if you wish. The office area where a continental breakfast is served is very small so one has to get there early to ensure a seat. Otherwise, a comfortable place to stay located on a wide creek with a boardwalk and near major grocery stores if you need other items for your stay.
“Just stopping for the night”
Pretty nice place. Room was large, comfortable. We were just overnighting on route home, but wanted some time in Canmore downtown area. Drake is two blocks from everything! On advice from others, we asked for a room away from the nightclub, and it was fine -- we didn't hear any noise. Internet worked fine. Breakfast was OK, typical, nothing special but adequate. Also, Luna Blue in the downtown area is a very nice place to eat.
“A really good deal!”
Considering the rate we paid in a popular mountain location, we were extremely satisfied. It is somewhat rundown but has spectacular views and supplied all the usual amenities, including a quick breakfast. We had to walk up to the third floor, which can be difficult for some people. However, for us, the view was worth it. It is on a busy corner but we did not hear the traffic during the night.
“Great if your'e just sleeping there”
Hotel was great if you're looking for a cheap place to sleep and store your skis for the night. The rooms were REALLY hot at night though. I could also see summer time the rooms being much louder as they are right beside a popular bar in Canmore.
“Great little Motel”
Great little hotel for a great price. The rooms were spacious enough and there was plenty of tea and coffee provided. the breakfast is very brief but you can have as much as you like. the Hotel bar was great and well priced. Ideal hotel to rest your head when you are out on the rockies all day. The only downside was that the carpark has just enough spaces for the residents. We arrived back at 5pm and locals were using the carpark whilst dining, i therefor had to wait in the car for 20 minutes for a slot to become avaliable. Not really a problem but just a pain
