"Two days at the Georgetown Inn w/ the Dog"
We booked a room on the ground floor next to a door such that we could get out with the dog easily for bathroom breaks. Our dog loved the area as it was heavy with the scent of animals. The dining was fairly good, portions large, and management went to the bother of hiring staff w/ English accents therein which helped keep the atmosphere consistent to the theme. Proximity to Canmore shopping was good; a mere 10 minute walk. Trains pass through town regularly but one soon tunes it out. Canmore is less touristy than Banff, offers the same beautiful mountain views, good hiking and would be favoured for those wishing to avoid the tourist crowd. Temperature regulation in the room was a little below average and there was no table large enough for laptop use as the theme of the room was the objective; fair enough. The stand-out feature of our experience was the was the friendly staff. We have NEVER been better cared for. Bravo to the management. Look in the back of the restaurant menu for which movies have been filmed in the hotel including "Dr Strangelove" and "The Edge".

"Awesome Experience"
Didn't know what to expect for or first time there. As soon as we walked into the main desk area, it was so warm and inviting. Behind the desk was very happy and pleasant faces. Our room was exactly what I wanted for my first time to Banff, cabin rustic. Fire place with free fire wood, lots of room, GREAT water pressure, very clean and quiet. The out door hot tub in the winter was perfectly romantic for my boyfriend and I. Loved this hotel.

This was a fantastic 2 days of being waited on hand and foot. Valet parking was super. Staff took bags at car and we didn't touch them until they arrived at our room. Very comfortable room with a fantastic easterly view. 11 restaurants to choose from, all wonderful.

"Great way to enjoy the full Sunshine experience."
Only had one day to snowboard. Showed up at 3:45, rode the gondola to the top with our luggage, enjoyed a great meal at the hotel, had a great time in the outdoor hot tub (large), watched a little TV in the room. Woke up early and enjoyed a beautiful sunrise. Hobbled over to rent skis for the wife and then enjoyed a full day of running down the mountain. Beautiful lunch at the hotel to break the day up. Sad to ride the gondola down the mountaing after a day of reminding myself that i am not young anymore. Awesome break from the norm.
