Character and Class
This hotel gave us a warm feeling as soon as we walked in. The staff at reception were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the en suite facilities were very good too. Our only gripe would be the proximity to the train line but as trains go through there about two of three times a day it was not a major issue. The pool was well used by others and they all looked to be enjoying it, while we enjoyed the bar and it's log fire, the restaurant and the pub adjoining the hotel. All good. Access to the shops is directly across the foot bridge, about 200m from the hotel. Also, access to all the sites is extremely good too. A really good hotel to stay at.

A Must Stay!
This hotel was amazing. The roaring river and beautiful landscape made you feel like you were in the heart of Canada with all the beauty around you. There's a grocery store and casual strip mall on the other side of the river. The beds are very comfortable and the restaurant has a great variety of fancy food. I promise you this is the place to stay at Lake Louise

The ups and downs of Astoria
Old hotel. no elevator. Room was quiet but very small and warm so used the airconditioner. Twin beds were very uncomfortable. Great location though for food and going to see the sights. Had laundry facilities in the building. Parking was nearby.

We enjoyed our stay at the Post hotel. Our room was very nice and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. We were on the side of the hotel with the train tracks. The tracks were used frequently but really didn't bother us.

Rooms, spa, pool and steam room all very clean. The restaurant and wine cellar are first class. It is pretty pricey, but so is everything else in the area

Step back into European class
Lovely hotel close to lake Louise, old fashioned attention to details and visitor attentiveness. Staff is excellent, a warm inviting place. Dinning is expensive here. Railroad close by can be obtrusive at times regardless of which 'side' you stay on. A nice experience but many other choices closer in to Banff may be worth looking for.

Breathtaking views from the Post Hotel
Your hotel is in a beautiful setting. The walking paths are great. Service and accommodations are first class. The fancy restaurant was a disappointment for my wife. There was no description of veal and rosti potatoes. The waiter didn't explain. The veal was served in a cream sauce(she is lactose intolerant). The potatoes were a hunk of hashbrowns (she assumed they were roasted potatoes). She did not eat much of her meal. The waiter seemed unconcerned, even when she questioned him when the meal came to the table. Nonetheless, we would revisit the hotel and avoid the fancy restaurant.

Post Hotel is first class!
We enjoyed our stay in Lake Louise at the Post Hotel. It is first class and preferable over the very crowded and noisy Fairmont. We ate there one night as it is on the pricey side but unique menu selections. VERY NICE hotel and location.

Beautiful Hotel away
This is a beautiful hotel with immaculate grounds. It is also away from the craziness of the Fairmont on the lake. We loved our stay, the room was superb, the staff were amazing, and the food and bar were great. The only downside was the CPR (railway) next to the hotel with pretty frequent very large trains at night. This was not mentioned on the Expedia site.

Beautiful location and amenities!
This place was amazing! Wish we would have booked our stay for longer. The atmosphere is so relaxing, and the facilities are the perfect combination of elegant yet rustic and charming. We didn't eat in the formal dining room but we did choose to have a meal in the pub and the food was superb. If we ever return to this area, we will absolutely stay here again!!

The Most Beautiful Place on Earth
I have always loved the Canadian Rockies and wanted to share that experience with my wife for her birthday this year. While Lake Louise sees quite a few tourists, the Post Hotel is tucked away from the center of activity in tall pines along a tributary of the mighty Bow River. The hotel is kept in pristine condition and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was perfect. We would use the fireplace each night and I was very impressed that it was always cleaned and prepped for use the next evening. We are both career railroad people and loved sharing the time with the periodic passing of distant trains. It certainly added to the overall experience. My wife has traveled all over the world and without hesitation told me this is one of the most beautiful places on earth! Thank you Post Hotel for your help in making such a great impression. We look forward to our next visit!

European style hotel
Elegant hotel, our stay was during July and they had many young people working at the hotel to care for any request you might have. Love the coffee and tea service between 3-5 P. Sip tea sitting outdoors enjoying the mountain views. European run hotel and it is five star. The hostess in the Pub has a bit of an attitude issue and we walked out. We choice to dine elsewhere.

Awesome Amazing hotel.
I booked this hotel sight unseen via the internet and I was so pleased with the choice. I would definetly come back here. It was amazing, the hotel was clean and friendly, the room had a fireplace!! Each night they left us water by our beds with a chocolate on the pillow. I felt as if I was in Europe! the location was excellent for hiking to the most wonderful trails in Lake Louise. I will for sure be back and when I do Hotel Post is where I will stay. If you want a bit of luxury stay here. The food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was delicious. They have a spa and an exercise room, that was a bit small but since we did so much hiking the need for a huge gym was not on the top of our list for this trip

Elegant, yet homey
My husband and I were celebrating our 30th anniversary and we could not have picked a better place to stay. The staff were very courteous and friendly and went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. The hotel was rustic, yet beautiful and we felt very at home there. We ate at the Pub 2 nights and the food was better than your typical pub fare. One evening we dined at the main restaurant, and even though it was very expensive, the food and service were impeccable. I would highly recommend eating there for dinner at least once. Even though we were told that there is a dress code and we dressed for dinner, there were a few people that came in with shorts and t-shirts. Since it was unseasonably cool for July, we enjoyed lounging in the comfortable chairs by the fireplace in the bar area after dinner just relaxing and enjoying a drink. The grounds were beautiful and from our room we could see the little cottages and the brook that flowed behind the hotel. Be sure to ask for the preferred side so that you do not have to hear the train or look at the parking lot. The only drawbacks about our trip-the wifi was not working in the hotel the whole time we were there (probably because it is in the middle of nowhere) and there really is not a town there, so the only night life is in the hotel. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, would highly recommend the Post Hotel and will definitely go back the next time we are in Lake Louise.

Quality and welcome
We loved the hotel at first sight. It is very nicely landscaped and is well maintained on the outside. The good appearance followed us inside with a charming log construction interior. We arrived in time for afternoon tea in the lobby. Our room was clean and nicely appointed, with good beds AND pillows. We enjoyed the jacuzzi tub in the bathroom as well as the clean, updated bathroom. Our room also had a little balcony, on which we did spend some time. The hotel provides coffee and tea service in the hallways convenient to the rooms, which was much better tasting than the usual in-room coffee service. We had a very nice dinner in the dining room and enjoyed our waitstaff, who was full of good information.

Nice place to stay in Lake Louise
Nice place to stay, very good staff and really nice looking bathroom. Was a bit hot and the train going by was pretty loud but over all a nice hotel. Definitely would be at it's best in winter with the wood burning fireplaces.

Memories were made.
Everything was great, however the hotel has no A/C thus in the summer its kind of hot during the day. If you leave your window open the smoke from the fireplace in the bar comes into the room. We were offered a room fan to help with the heat after I told the waiter in the restaurant ( the restaurant was definitely top rated ) would recommend this as a unique, friendly, romantic experience.

Wonderful place to stay in Lake Louise.
Friends had told me for years that when I visit Lake Louise, I should stay at this hotel. They were so right. It's beautiful and has a wonderful European feel. My room was a two-level spot--I felt like I was in a chalet. I had a superb meal in the restaurant with a really fine glass of wine; breakfast of a crab omelet was an uncommon surprise and just wonderful.

We were in the side of the hotel overlooking the parking lot. There were train tracks VERY close to the hotel with a lot of loud freight trains during the night. Unfortunate, since out AC did not work so we wanted the windows open to cool off our room but had to close them due to the trains. The other side of the hotel with the steam would have been better. Please take note.

Best hotel experience of our vacation.
It was pure luxury to experience and a true vacation in itself. You get what you pay for! It was by far the best hotel with a European flavour, we stayed at on our vacation through Western Canada. The staff was courteous and paid attention to our needs. The room was spacious and clean and the bed gave us a good night's sleep. The food was excellent and the surroundings beautiful.

Great hotel but avoid the discounted side
The hotel is superb and the service is up to expectations. I would definitely recommend to stay in this hotel if you visit Lake Louise. The main dining place and the pub also serve great food. The only complaint that I have to this hotel is that the discounted side is VERY noisy. It faces the carpark and the railway. Thus you can be disturbed by the trans Canada trains at night or people talking / laughing loudly in the carpark late at night or early in the morning.
