Pros: location and clean
Cons: The parking can be a bit trying.
Location: food drink shops mountains all at hand , perfect.
Went for a weekend break for some boarding with my wife and came back to a clean smart room in the middle of town, what more do you need.

Great location

The staff were friendly except for one girl at the reception at night. Wi-fi did not work properly due to some of the routers being down as per staff. The room was clean and probably recently renovated. Sound isolation could be better. Breakfast is extra $16 and it's ok especially if you're gonna miss it due to sleeping in. Our window overlooked a brick wall..... ask for a good view at check-in, peeps.

Great location, but not clean.

Posted 15-Apr-2014
While the hotel itself was in a great spot in Banff and the hotel staff were really nice the room itself was quite outdated and looked dirty. There were water stains on the walls, marks on the bath tub and stains on the carpets. It should definitely have the carpets and the wallpaper replaced at the very least.

Great location

Clean rooms. A fridge would be an asset ( we requested one 3 days in advance, but were told none were available; when we offered to pay extra because we had a young baby, they still could not accommodate us). The location is excellent ; however, this is a party hotel. It is by far the noisiest hotel we, and our other relatives, have stayed in.

Lipstick on a Pig

Positives: Located conveniently on Banff Avenue, everything (shopping & dining) was within reasonable walking distance. The staff at Tony Roma's in particular were courteous, personable, and provided impeccable service. Negatives: Incredibly noisy building, making sleep impossible. The noise from Banff Ave was of no issue, but the hallway noise, squeaking floor noise from visitors above, paper thin walls, and loud shower pipe "knocking" allowed for interrupted sleep at all hours of the night and early rise in the morning. Attempts were made to "modernize" the rooms; however, the workmanship was extremely sloppy and rushed (fraying carpet, peeling wallpaper, loose tiles and baseboard, etc). Room cleanliness could have been a bit better, particularly when pillows have stains, and pillow cases hold loose hairs from other visitors. Beware of fire alarms in the middle of the night, parking may be troublesome during peak season, and avoid the 3 rooms located on the "4th Floor". Surely, this hotel overall is not worth the money you will ultimately pay (in both peak and down seasons). If not for the amazing atmosphere of Banff, this trip would have been disappointing.

Nice place

Reasonably priced, competent and friendly staff. Asked for a quiet room and we were given a quiet room but hall noise would have been significant if near the elevator.

Great location for access to Banff NP

Posted 2-Apr-2014
Pros: Bus service to ski areas immediately behind hotel. Proximity to dining and shopping. Reasonable rates.
Cons: Our ceiling fan was caked with dust.
Location: Numerous restaurants, shops, and bars.
This hotel is situated in the center of town with easy access to all restaurants and shops. The bus to the Banff ski areas stops right behind the hotel and a ski storage room is also in back. The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We rented a car for the drive from Calgary, but only used it once during our stay. Consider ditching the car and taking a shuttle from the airport (not sure of the cost).

Quiet, Storied, and Private spot Downtown

Posted 26-Mar-2014
Pros: It had a great location. It had quiet rooms. The views were great. The staff was excellent. The price was reasonable.
Cons: It could have a mini-fridge added, and the layout makes it similar to a maze to find your room.
Location: The location is right in the heart of downtown banff, there are shops, pubs, bars, restaurants, church, everything nearby.
The title may sound like a contradiction, but it is not. Travelling to Banff is a common occurrence for my girlfriend and I. Each time we stay in Banff we try a different hotel. We're not exceedingly wealthy, so price is always a factor in our decisions. With this hotel, we were both pleasantly surprised. I had asked for a room on the 400 level, as other Expedia guests had suggested this level is a little more secluded and farther away from the hustle, bustle, and noise of the town below. It was excellent! The 400 level only has 3 rooms, so it's tough to get, but if you do get it there really is a sense of privacy there. Attached to the fourth floor is a balcony that lets you view the main street, and it has a great view. The staff were really on top of their game too, any time we called the front desk they were knowledgeable and willing to help out. The manager late one night even looked up and called different restaurants to find out which were still open. The bathroom had been redone, and had modern sinks and fixtures. The bed was comfy and had a pillowtop mattress on it. The only downsides were having no in room mini-fridge, and that the hotel is similar to a labyrinth in layout. It is also right downtown, and it's literally seconds from the room to the elevator and out onto the street to enjoy some pubs, dinner, and entertainment in downtown Banff. Overall, a great stay at a very nice hotel.
