“Great location on main strip.”
Booked a last minute trip for this past long weekend. This was one of the available hotels at a decent high season rate. Location was great, we walked everywhere. Check in and out was easy, we stayed only Sunday night. I read reviews before so I knew to check in at the Ptarmigan, parking was also free and convienient as long as you pay attention to where you should turn into their parking lot. We were in suite 249, it was a surprise to see that instead of one queen size bed, there was an additional separate room with a tv, and two smaller beds (we didn't use that room at all, just closed the door) the room was pretty big and our bed was super comfy! We were only in the hotel to hang out before an adventure, and then to sleep later that night. I am a light sleeper and did wake up later in the night as heard some louder people in a house across the street, but we had left our window open by accident, so that was our fault. I closed it and fell back to sleep. If you are a light sleeper maybe bring comfy ear plugs and you will be more than fine. We had a large fridge and microwave in our room, which was nice to keep a case of pop cold, but otherwise we didn't use it. Safeway is maybe a 4 minute walk away.
“Great Hotel”
The view was amazing, the staff was excellent, and the location was perfect! The rooms were spacious, and we really enjoyed our stay! Within walking distance to everything .... awesome place.
“Good”
Excellent if you are not planning staying in the hotel. Cheap and perfect spot
“Very comfortable and friendly”
The room was very comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located to anything you want in Banff. The service at the bar was very friendly and fun. I would stay there again!
“Good for the Price”
Exactly what we were looking for. Met our requirements at a decent price.
“Home away from home & a breakfast worth getting up for!”
The suite was very comfortable, the in-suite kitchen reasonably well equipped (the pots & pans could be of better quality though). The breakfast buffet was the best we've seen for a complementary breakfast - including scrambled eggs & sausage or ham, oatmeal, granola, waffles, fruit, yogurt and an excellent selection of breads, muffins & bagels. Most of the staff were very attentive - but at least one could do with additional training regarding customer service. The gym has limited equipment of low to poor quality and does not supply cleaning supplies for users to wipe down the equipment. We'll definitely go back.
“Good value for basic needs”
Hotel was clean and had all you really need for a trip to Banff and we enjoyed it. It shares facilities with the neighbouring hotel but there are lots of restaurants etc nearby. Parking can be tight but you can use the other hotels outside and underground areas too. There is no elevator so if you have a room on the second floor be aware you'll have to carry your bags up or ask for help.
“ok but not that impressed”
parking was a big problem
“Great room”
It was a little confusing to find the hotel as it is slightly hidden just off Banff Ave and you actually check in at The Ptarigan. The outside of the hotel and hallways aren't the cleanest but the rooms are cute and cozy. The beds were extremely comfortable and for that reason I would stay there again.
“Very Impressed”
My husband and I were very impressed with the hotel! The staff at the Ptarmigan Inn (the affiliate hotel where you check in or call if you need anything) were EXTREMELY nice and helpful. It is also a great location for convenient walking to downtown and getting to other sites. Next time we visit I will probably stay there again.
