Spacious rooms with full kitchen at economical price. Outside of Banff in forested area--good for short hiking and lots of deer feeding in open spaces.

The deck was dirty covered on pine needles and broken branches' ashtray was over flowing and piled up on the deck' pictures do not advertise the place properly . Will be going else where next time

The Resort has a little age on it but once you settle in you start to see the beauty of the place. The views are stunning with mountains and woods all around. The wood burning fireplaces are great especially for someone who lives in a big city condo and wants a little ski chalet magic on vacation. The nights are dark and quiet and some of your neighbours are the deer and elk that wander the area.

Great experience, it's very convenient to take a bus to the downtown area, and the hotel has a wonderful water slide for kids.

The property was very old and the places in the rooms have a very much dust (like Balcony). The rooms had kitchen which is good the have and comes handy. Apart from this there is a mini waterslide park which is amazing and fun. The beds in the room is comfortable. I would rate it 3.5 ish.

We're done. Unfortunately, the property has not been maintained for quite some time. In our room, our safe had run out of charge so we didn't have anywhere to put our valuables when we were out. From the loft area, you could see the top of the cabinet unit and the thick layer of dust allowed to remain there. Old outlets (they're loose in the walls and plugs just fall out of them), non-GFCI outlet two feet away from the leaky kitchen faucet, holes in the countertop, patched carpet that they didn't even ATTEMPT to match the pattern up (really - the lines were perpendicular to the rest of it), and a worn line where they'd removed the banquette seating. All small fixes that would help keep this place at least looking cared for. I know it's aged, but it really seems as though the owners are not putting any money into the facility. The pool and waterslide area is just as bad. Cracked tiles, chunks missing from the radiator covers because they've plain rusted away, dirt streaks down the stairs leading to the waterslides, and just a general air of neglect. The final straw was when the smoke alarm went off in the unit beneath us at 4 in the morning. The gentleman was very drunk and had built a large fire in the fireplace without opening the flue. The staff member who responded managed to open the flue, but not before the unit was flooded with smoke. Ours wasn't as bad, but we couldn't go back to sleep. Profuse apologies, but no incentive to get us to come back. We won't be returning.

Would not booked again in this property. Worst beds and sofa bed they have. If you to have back pain after your night this is the place for you. Beds are like 60 yo, it’s sinking everywhere where you back could feel the springs. All the things inside and appliances are like when the building was built. All antique. Kids wasn’t happy when pool was closed.

Stayed at Douglas for many times, always enjoy the piece and quiet. Bus service to down town right out side the door, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, fireplaces on most of the rooms and prices are decent compared to comparable hotels

The amenities for this hotel are excellent for families. Our kids couldn't get enough of the waterslides and they loved the play place as well. The outdoor hot tub is wonderful. We had assigned underground parking which was very convenient. They provide free bus passes if you want to go into town and not worry about finding parking. The bus stop is very close to the hotel. The room was spacious for a family of 5 and all the beds (including the murphy bed in the living room) were comfortable. The room was a bit dated and could have used some small repairs, but this didn't really bother us. We will definitely be back!

It took about 2 hours past the check-in time to get in our room because the rooms were not ready. It was not a big deal for me but a lot of guests were complaining. I felt bad for the two receptionist. All of the guests were asking for the manager but to no avail. I like that our room is equipped with a full kitchen and utensils. We were able to cook breakfast and not rush to go out in the morning. I like that they give you complimentary bus pass to get to the downtown. The bed sheet of our main bed had a small but multiple blood stains. It was not noticeable because it was tucked in on the bed. It looks like it was reused from previous guests. I didn’t bother saying anything to the front desk. The downside of everything was the signing of the waiver for each use of the pool and gym. I don’t know why it was necessary. This is the first hotel that we ever stayed in that we have to do this. It was annoying. I hope they stop doing it in the future.

This was a great place for families! We loved our chalet, the little kitchen was great even had a dishwasher, T.V’s in the bed rooms, had a 1/2 bath up in the loft which was so convenient. The chalet does show its age with wear and tear but it’s clean! The property on the other hand could be cleaner the pool changing rooms were not cleaned daily. The play place was dusty at the top. Over all though it was great! The water slides were awesome and the play place was big 3 levels of fun! We would stay here again great family entertainment!

Property is well situated off the town center close to hiking trails. It could need some updating. One of the ceiling tile in the bathroom was not in place completely showing the plumbing. The light fixture in the bedroom was missing a screw. One of the coils on the stove didn’t work. The stairs were icy, the staff put some salt after we asked for it but this didn’t completely solve the problem. A quick scraping would probably have done a better job. Icy stairs are safety hazard for both employees and guests.

The property has a tired feel throughout and rooms need a refurb. The sofa in our room should have been replaced as it was old and worn. Beds were comfy. Unfortunately the outdoor hot tub wasn't working at the beginning of our stay and then when it was working, it wasn't hot enough. There's a reason rooms here cost less.

Had a great time, we stayed in the loft, my family loved it. Had a fire in the evening and visited. In the morning we went swimming and my kids loved the water slide. The out door hot tub isn't available but the indoor one was great. They have a indoor play ground it was fantastic as well. Will be staying again.

The rooms are rustic and suit the area, however they are quite dated and in need of updates. The only complaint is that there was not sufficient blankets on the beds and we were cold.
