“Great for families!”

Everything about the hotel was great - quiet, clean, friendly staff, inexpensive, and easy to get to. The smallest unit was a perfect size for myself and 2 sons, and having a full kitchen was great. We had breakfast in the room every monring and made lunch before heading out skiing, which saved a ton of money.

“Great family spot”

After the hustle and bustle of being in town, it was really nice to relax beside a fire in our own condo. If you have kids along then the inside water park is a plus, (free to guests).

“Best Place For Families in Banff”

I would recommend this resort to any and all families who enjoy swimming, waterslides, and just plain fun. The indoor playground is fabulous and the waterslides were great! We always rent a one bedroom condo and have always found great rates on Expedia and from searching on our own. The condos can be chilly, but the fireplace is a great way to get warm after your winter adventures. We will come back again and again. The condo we usually rent backs on the wooded area behind the resort and is great for privacy. We have always met nice people on our little holiday and have found the resort to be friendly, quiet and a nice get away.

“Great for families!”

We have two young children (5 and 6) and this hotel was perfect. It had lots of great options for the rainy days during our trip. In addition, the rooms were spacious and comfortable for families. Our kids could play in the woods right outside our room. Our only complaint was that our room (a studio suite) was located below ground level, which made it somewhat dark and the walls were thin (so we could hear our neighbors having a party!). Overall, I'd definitely recommend w/ kids.

“Great weekend for the family.”

Kids loved it there. We went with another couple and our daughter's friend. They are only 3 and 4 and they LOVED it!!! They are planning their next trip! The only draw back is parking is hard to find in Banff (downtown). It is free though, you just need patience. There is a bus shuttle from the hotel to downtown Banff and this helps elivate the problem. Over all we had a good time and would definetly go back.

“Great Family Hotel”

We only stayed for 1 night but wished we had more time. We arrived in Banff @ 10:00am and stopped at the hotel. Since check in wasn't until 4pm and our room was not ready. They stored all our luggage in the office so it was not sitting in our vehicle all day. They also said we could use the pool and indoor playgroung if we wanted. The 1 bedroom with loft was very spacious. It had everything a family needs. The pool/hottub and indoor playground was great. In fact my 7 year old said that the indoor playground was his favorite part of the whole trip. The front desk staff was very pleasent and helpful. Check-in and check-out was fast and easy. The hotel also has free wireless internet so we were able to check our e-mails in the evening. We cannot wait to go back and stay at the Douglas Fir again!!

“Pleasant Mountain Getaway”

Besides a little misunderstanding when checking in (bring your Expedia confirmation), everything was wonderful. The room was spacious and the location was great. The free shuttle from Banff's main centre was perfect to avoid having to find parking. The grocery store and liquor store on site was convenient too.
