“Good pick!”

Although the hotel needs to be updated we found it to be perfect for our stay. Our room had lots of room to move around. We got a king bed that provided a good nights sleep. The staff were very helpful and we had our crib (pack n' play) delivered to our room and set up as soon as we arrived. We had the Sunday brunch and it had a wide selection of delicious foods - worth the money. We did find the pool to be a bit cold, especially the air for our infant but were able to chill in one of the hot little pools they had. Overall this hotel fit our needs perfectly and we would definitely stay there again.

“Great Sunday brunch!”

This hotel has a great location. Close to downtown banff which means you only have to park once for the weekend. Short walk to main street. Room decor is dated however rooms are large. Our tv was not working properly and the hotel did not have any pay per view movies set up. Sunday brunch is always very good. Who doesn't like crab legs and chocolate fountain fountain for breakfast?

“Extremely Nice Pool!”

Very nice hotel! Hallways and rooms can use some updating, a little old style. Pool area is completely renovated and looks amazing! Stone wall with 2 fireplaces, nice sauna, hot tub.... Amazing overall! Sunday breakfast was expensive but good!

“POOL & HOT TUB WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THIS HOTEL”

The rooms are out dated (TV, decoration, doors/knobs). There was no security latch on the door. The room was quite warm and we had the fan on high but it wouldn't cool down. We requested a king size bed as my husband & I were celebrating our anniversary and we recieved a room with 2 queen beds.....we felt like we were Fred & Wilma Flinstone! When we checked in and out the front desk staff were very unfriendly as it looked like they wanted to be elsewhere. The pool & hot tub was very nice and is the highlight of this hotel and the guy who came around to clean up the pool area & provide more towels was extremely nice. Also it was $9.50 to park your own vehicle and $13.50 for valet parking. I think it should be free or least lower the rate. In the end I would try a different hotel because this one didn't float my boat!

“Comfy beds - slippery quilt”

I've stayed here before and the location is covienent. Beds were super comfy but the covers were so slippery that they kept sliding off the bed. The pool was great and kept the kids quite happy.

“Banff Trip”

They charged extra for wireless internet and a microwave. Many hotels offer these conveniences as standard and free of charge.

“We always stay at the Banff Park Lodge.”

Our family has spent a great amount of time in the Banff area, as we ski and hike depending on the seasons. The Banff Park Lodge has been our home away from home. The Banff Park Lodge rooms we have stayed in are always clean, comfortable. We have eaten in the upstairs restaurant and it has pretty good food and great views out of the large windows. Also, it's location makes it very easy to go out and walk to other restaurants, shops and seeing the sites. The staff are friendly as well.

Area recommendations
The Banff National Park is Canada's oldest national park. It is celebrating a big anniversary this year. If you stay in Banff, you are able to go on tours of most of the surrounding venues and it is a great place to call home while you are travelling. Hikes are great close by, i.e. Johnston Canyon, Ink Pots, Sunshine Meadows and there are more but these are great for youngsters too. Bus tours can take you to the Columbia Ice Fields, Takaka Falls, Kicking Horse Resort and more. Many things to see and great pictures will produce fond memories. Also see The Whyte Museum and its always changing exhibitions. There are horse rides, canoe trips and white water rafting - very cold water!
When to go
Summer or winter, spring or fall...just go and have a wonderful time seeing the spectacular sights in Banff National Park.
