"Nice Hotel - Big Spiders"
Very nice modern hotel with excellent facilities and comfortable bed rooms. Good service in the bar/restaurant. Did find two massive spiders in bedroom though so might be slacking a bit on the cleaning. There again they may have hitched a lift from previous hotel I stayed in which was a bit of a dump!

"An affordable, comfortable hotel."
I've stayed in this hotel several times over the past year and have been consistently impressed. Given its proximity to Cork airport, for me coming from North America, it makes an excellent place to pause for a night & get over jet lag before facing the sometimes challenging rural Irish road system. Returning, as there are no direct North American flights out of Cork & my connections always leave pretty early in the day, I've taken to arriving a day early so I can relax & get a good nights sleep before facing the questionable pleasures of Heathrow or Schipol

"Great location; perfect for a flying visit"
A really nice hotel in a fantastic location. The hotel has an award winning restaurant which overlooks a waterfall - this is great at breakfast time - I would whole heartedly recommend paying for the buffet breakfast - it was so delicious (fresh scones, butter, jams, delicious coffee, as well as perfectly crisp croissants, etc. Lovely yoghurt in chilled glass jars... mmmnnn I'm hungry just remembering it!) The room I had was ok and the bed very comfortable although the shower was very small and it took a while to ensure I could actually get under the water. I was in a single (ish) room though so never expect too much. It was not unpleasant though and I would certainly stay again. The staff were extremely helpful and charming. I ate in the restaurant next door (Isaacs) and ate the most delicious fish cakes. Indeed, the location was abundant with restaurants, cafes and take-aways (fish and chips) which all looked excellent - so one is spoiled for choice. The hotel is a short walk into the city centre including the English Market and is opposite the Everyman Theatre; it is also just a short walk from the tourist information office and wonderful architecture, the river and cool shops.

"Oldest hotel in Cork...great central location."
Hotel was nice. Shower/bathtub a little small. Our shower's water pressure was extremely low; had to use bathtub. You're so tired at night that you barely hear any noise. Don't forget your bathing cap if you want to swim in the pool or use the whirlpool (or 2 Euro at spa).

"Nice hotel in good location"
I arrived from Baltimore, County Cork and went straight to the hotel. Check in was speedy. Declined assistance of porter, as luggage was minimal and on wheels.

"Way over the top"
This hotel was probably the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in...anywhere! The bathroom was larger than the entire hotel room we had in Oslo, Norway. Towels were even big. The views are magnificient. The only negative thing I can say was I had poor WiFi service.

"Wonderful location, lovely hotel."
This hotel has a wonderful location looking acorss to the mountains and it is worth booking a lake view room. The checking in process was very smooth despite arriving just after a coach party. The lounge area is light and inviting and there are alto of public rooms so plent of space to curl up quietly if you want peace and quiet. Our room had a great balcony and view of the lake. Higher floors have slightly more expansive views although with only 3 - 4 floors all rooms are well placed. The hotel sits low in the landscape and therefore is not obtrusive - particularly when you walk up the hills and look back towards the hotel! The facilites were excellent although we did not know the main restaurant would be closed for some of our stay - a pity as the panorama view of the lake is wonderful. The brasserie, however, has a good selection of dishes although can be veryb usy at peak time. This is a conference hotel so be prepared for other activities taking place hence the peak time issues with dining. The Spa ws very good and i used the pool and fitness area which was always very peaceful. There is a cafe in this area too.
