The hotel is well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. Only thing I didn’t like is the beach. It was dirty. It may not be the responsibility of the hotel to clean the beach. However if they can arrange one person to keep the nearby beach clean, the quality of staying will be greatly improved. I noticed the hotel in the next door is doing the extra cleaning and the beach environment is much better.

The facilities are old ( well past their days of glory) and in need of major renovation. The room is nice and big but bathroom shower in need of upgrading ( eg needed higher water pressure and shower fixture falling apart). Ceiling in Layang Layang full of water and stains. Also, food was unremarkable bordering bad (eg. rotten tomato served in the breakfast buffet) and certainly not of the quality and variety expected of a five star hotel. Staff are nice and friendly but it seems in need of better training and more direct supervision. Seems more of an issue related to proper management of staff as opposed to a problem with staff. Waitress in breakfast for example wearing food stained uniform. Staff at the security gate not very polite (though there were some good exceptions) . Fitness facilities nice and modern. Main Pool area also very nice though some of the decor like the pink orchid needs to be removed or replaced long ago.

One of the most magical resorts I have stayed at. I felt I instantly at peace there. Great breakfast and were very accommodating to my dietary needs. The room was spacious, bright & clean. The finishing touch on a great experience was the fact they provided 2 x 1.5 litre bottles of water every day and got me more so promptly every time I requested it. Only thing I would have liked is milk in the mini bar for my coffee.

Great property for mature adults. Quiet and peaceful. Check in was poor. Arrived late and room not ready. They put us up in another room at midnight and we moved in the morning. Quite spoiled first day. Very clean and large room. Big pool you can lap. Wouldn’t stay again as too quiet for me.

The room was wow. Big room with comfortable bedding and spacious toilet. However, this hotel is located in a very quiet area. There are some restaurants at the beach but the whole area is boring. The shower water smells of sewage and we had to check out early as my children had developed a rash. Staff were very helpful and understanding. Their service was excellent. But do note that this area is really quiet and lacked vibrancy. If you have kids looking for fun and games and things to see and explore, this is not the place to stay. If you are a retiree looking for peace and quiet, then this is the place for you.

The staff at the hotel are amazing. The breakfast was superb and staff so attentive. Pool area lovely. Location perfect right on the beach with loads restaurants supermarkets chemist money changers nearby. The renovations are a bit inconvenient but I am sure once complete the grounds will be superb. Awesome hotel
Great hotel. Location is excellent with easy beach access. Rooms amazing. All staff super friendly & helpful. Breakfast choices excellent. Our only gripe was the lack of pool loungers & umbrellas. For a big hotel the number is totally inadequate. You also have the usual problem of people leaving personal items on the lounges early in morning, to reserve them, and then not coming back until mid morning. The hotel needs to have visible signs discouraging this & need to take action to stop it. We had a family with 3 children taking 5 loungers & not coming back to the pool area until 11am. Very selfish of people to do this.

WOW, is how I will start this. We used this property for our last night in Bali since it was close to the airport. WOW, for the staff they are truly amazing. WOW, for the resort it is quiet and very nice. WOW, for the upgraded Villa they gave us for our final stay in Bali. If you can get a villa here we would highly recommend they are truly amazing. The staff was amazing everywhere you went. From beginning to the end they were amazing. Food is amazing also, the executive chefs sourdough bread is a must during breakfast you will not regret it. We tried it because the executive chef came out and introduced himself and told us the story about the starts that have been in his family for 3 generations and WOW was it amazing. During our stay there was one staff member that stood out above all the rest and he was out standing. The buggy driver Ade who was also our driver to the airport was truly amazing. Made our one night at this resort truly enjoyable and memorable. Thank you Ade… if you are thinking of a stay here, book it you won’t regret it and if you meet Ade say hello from us he is truly the best.

we felt like were in heaven. its really awesome stay. all staff treated us very well and kind, friendly. i been worried about some negative reviews but nothing is justified. i can't even found one negativity during my stay. worth for spending money. very god breakfasts easy access to beach . i felt i gained more energy during my holiday. i recommend this for all category of stay family, friends and honeymoon ❤️ 💜 💕 ♥️ 😊 💖

The staff at the hotel made our first visit to Bali memorable. When we checked in, they gave us a refreshing drink and a chilled towel. Our junior suite was wonderful with a porch, tub and shower and effective cooling and fans. The meals were delicious, the staff was friendly and happy. We enjoyed our spa treatments and shopping in the nearby markets.

Clear maintenance issues
Dear Team, I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent stay at your hotel. As a guest, I was expecting a comfortable and seamless experience, but unfortunately, that was not the case. During our stay, we encountered several issues that indicate a general maintenance problem at your hotel. Upon arriving at our room after a long journey, my partner and I encountered an issue with the key card. It was not functioning properly, and we had to ask the staff to call for assistance to get it fixed after our long travelling Furthermore, we experienced a problem with the balcony door. Due to a poor design, we got locked out of the balcony, and we had to climb out of the window and ask for help. This was a safety hazard and made us feel uncomfortable. This design flaw could have been avoided with better maintenance and attention to detail. On our last night, we attempted to use the bathtub, but we found a major leak that made the toilet unusable. This was an unpleasant experience and caused us inconvenience. It was also a clear indication of a maintenance problem that needs to be addressed. Although the staff was friendly and accommodating, I expected more from a five-star hotel. I hope that you can take the necessary steps to address these maintenance issues and improve the experience for future guests. Thanks Chris K

The hotel advertises “newly renovated”, however, nearly half of the hotel is still undergoing renovations. One restaurant was closed and it was inconvenient to get around the property as sections were closed off. The beach should be cleaned daily as there is seaweed and some plastic in the water and on the sand. The location is good if you want to be able to walk in the town and experience the local environment. On a positive note, the room and hotel property was clean. The room was large and comfortable with good air conditioning and plenty of hot water. The pool was lovely, overlooking the beach and very clean. There was one breakfast room and one dinner restaurant. There are tables by the pool for lunch but the menu and cooking is from the dinner restaurant. The service and staff were wonderful and responded to any requests and/concerns we had. Overall we enjoyed our stay but will not stay in this area if we were to visit Bali in the future.

I think the hotel has not ready to open yet with intercontinental brand. Anyone agree with me? May be the staff need to learn from intercontinental jimbaran, and trying not differentiate local tourist and international tourist so obvious. Do not you have learn hard enough during covid time ?

Like: big room with ocean-view wide foyer, smiley and helpful staffs in the morning breakfast restaurant, facilities and receptions, created nice ambiance to our small family gathering throughout the last week to new year. Little improvements needed: take time to ask for another hour late check-out (while waiting for our late afternoon flight) although we have indicated this at the check-in staff (4-days ago).

Shocked this is an Intercontinental Hotel
While various aspects of the hotel are under renovation, the grounds need help too, specifically, the lotus ponds (dead) and landscape water features/waterfalls. Could be beautiful but disappointing particularly compared to other nearby hotels as similar/lower price points. Convinced my husband to opt for Intercontinental over the nearby Hyatt. Stunned the Intercontinental charges the rate we paid given the overall condition. Bathrooms are huge but so dimly lit they need updating. Bicycles for guest use might be from the 60s. Saving grace is the pool which is expansive. Staff are great but cannot make up for the dismal property. Call before thinking about staying here as would be surprised the renovation is done. We were there on 9/1-3 2022.

Great Beach Hotel with stellar service.
Great hotel. We loved it. We had a problem with our room - the water wasn't hot and they moved us right away to an upgraded room. The service was exceptional everyone was smiling and super helpful.

Loved the outdoor living space with coffee press for enjoying the morning sunrise, Bluetooth built in speakers for listening to music, and peaceful property. Breakfasts were excellent, staff so kind, and happy hour cocktails were tasty and refreshing. The only improvements that I could suggest is to repair the mildew stained caulking in the shower and to work on keeping the pool crystal clear. We had a fantastic vacation at the Fairmont and would be happy to return!

The staff and service is amazing. Very nice people. However the property just isn’t up-to the name fairmont. Don’t get me wrong. Rooms are decent sized with decent views. But you can see the age. Moldy with leaks ...Beach has a lot of weed. Which they try to clean up but you can’t really go in the water. Restaurants are limited (2). Location is nice so you can enjoy other restaurants nearby. 1 adult pool. Kids area is just plain depressing ...in the basement almost ...with no windows and very small.

While the room was fantastic, it was damp. The smell of mould as you entered was overpowering and the bed itself damp and smelly. We also suffered from no hot water, we’re unable to shower on the first night, took a cold shower on the second, and were finally moved for the final 2 nights of our stay. The new room was neither damp nor suffered water issues suggesting it was limited to our room. While the staff were great we lost half of our stay and had no sleep at all in the second night which was very annoying.
