Thanksgiving with Family

Posted 3-Dec-2013
Pros: It was very quiet and the location was very nice by the Erie Canal.
Cons: The breakfast was just OK. It could have had a few more options. The TV in the room was old and the heating using was noisy.
Location: It is not too far from Syracuse and there are a number of places to eat locally.
The room was small but nice, we liked the feel of an old inn but the bathroom was updated.

Nice Hotel With Some Reservations

Posted 24-Apr-2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is charming and scenic, as most of the reviews state. It is a restored 180-year-old mill. I liked how you can see the massive beams from the original structure which the remodeling architects allowed to remain visable. Walking around the raging Seneca River and over the lock of the canal was very interesting. Baldwinsville is a quaint and charming town. As for the reservations: The description of the hotel said that microwaves were available and that was not true. The manager apologized and was very nice to give me a double queen when I asked, even though I booked a single queen, for no extra charge. They did supply the refridgerator. This was a minor inconvenience. The manager said I was welcome to use the microwave they had in the kitchen. In the morning, I asked the girl who manned the breakfast area a question about a food item and she asked me if I could step out of the kitchen, which I thought was rude. Later, it was the same girl when I asked for a late checkout; she reluctantly agreed to 12:00. As I was pulling my suitcases out of the room a few minutes after 12:00, she was coming down the hall (she came all the way up to the 3rd floor!) and said she wanted to make sure I was leaving...geeez! Her presence tarnished the otherwise nice experience of this quaint inn. On a positive note, the other staff were quite friendly and helpful.

Close to all we needed to see and do.

We liked the non-chain hotel feel. Historical with modern conveniences. Spacious rooms. Comfy beds. We had a corner room, so we had a view of the Main Street as well a s the Erie Canal !

Wonderful stay

Posted 29-Mar-2013 on Hotels.com
To be honest I picked the Red Mill Inn somewhat randomly, just needing a quick overnight stay on a business trip. What a pleasant surprise. The hotel is very well-maintained, friendly, eco-friendly, and scenic (right on the Seneca River). Baldwinsville is a very nice little town. I plan on returning.

A cute hotel with charm

Posted 22-Mar-2013 on Hotels.com
My husband and I stopped here on our way home from Toronto to Boston. It was about 10 minutes away from I90 which made the location for us perfect. This hotel was quiet, clean, affordable and also had a lot of charm. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The bathroom was really clean and came with nice shampoo and conditioner. Parking right next to the hotel. The Breakfast came with our stay and it was fine for us-basic continental.
