Staff did not seem well trained

Posted 27-Jul-2014 on Hotels.com
I stayed at The Red Mill Inn because a friend was getting married there. I had attempted to request early check-in several times before arriving but none of the staff I spoke was able to deal with this so I had to take my chances. I was, luckily, able to check in about an hour ahead of time, which was 2 1/2 hours before the ceremony. The entire hotel smelled of fried fish (not pleasant) yet fried fish was not on the wedding menu. Throughout my stay, which was only about 20 hours, the very small staff seemed overwhelmed with any request. And though they clearly specialize in hosting weddings, they clearly did not have a system in place for all this entailed.

Second time staying in this hotel. Owners and staff have always been very friendly. We needed assistance to find several services in the area and staff was helpful and gave the extra mile!Check in and check out very smooth, rooms are very clean and spacious. The site surrounding the hotel is gorgeous!!!

Stay at Red Mill Inn

Posted 28-May-2014
Pros: It was pleasant to enter the lobby and being greeted by the owner. The room was very comfortable; and the staff was very pleasant.
Cons: We think it is a nice place to stay; the town has grown very much. There are many restaurants, musical performances in Summer
Location: The Canal offers boating, swimming; The Beaver Lake Nature Center with hiking trails is very enjoyable.
The last time we had seen the building was as the Old Mill. We lived for many years in Baldwinsville and did not pay much attention to the building; only looking at the river from the bridge every now and then. We had come for a visit with old friends who did not realize that the OLD MILL was a Hotel now. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Hotel. .

Lovely hotel, nice location. I like being off the major highway, but not too far. Close enough to major shopping. Friendly staff too!
