They were kind, just the only problem we had was the lock of the door which was not working at first they changed our room but after sending us 3 times to the room to checka dn come back to reception. other things were good although we stayed just one night.

“Perfect for on-the-go travelers!”

I was down in Austin with a friend for the music festival. We checked right in with no problems and had a clean, comfortable room. Breakfast was great in the morning and perfect for saving extra bucks!

I spent one night in Austin at the Howard Johnson on I35. I had a conference to attend at UT and it was very convenient for me to drive to and from hotel to UT campus. Being a school teacher, it was quite affordable as well. Also knowing that the parking lot had camera supervision I felt safe and comfortable leaving my new car parked out in parking lot. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely book here again if I need to stay in Austin.

“HJ Inn Austin ROCKS!”

We were greeted by a very friendly staff member upon check-in. She discussed all of the hotel amenities and told us about some local hot spots to try out. The rib joint she suggested was AWESOME! Good food and good Austin music! The room was clean and very comfortable. Even with all the bikes from the ROT Rally in town, the room was quiet and we slept like babies! Highly recommend this hotel. Made this out of town guest feel at home!

The hotel staff was very friendly and knowledgable of the area. The rooms were very clean. Hotel was located close to downtown area.

“You get more than what you pay for.”

It is often tricky making a decision about where to stay based on other people's wildly varying opinions. I am baffled that establishments such as this one garner negative reviews as it is certainly not expensive and comparitively, the customers get more than they pay for. How much cheaper can it get? I can only conclude that the average American traveller, having so much choice, is very difficult to please and is easily dis-satidfied. This HoJo is either very new or has recently had a refurb. Pleasantly, it is a hotel rather than a motel with internal access to the rooms. Our room was very spacious, spotlessly clean and very quiet. Whilst the pool is smallish, it is fortunately not bathtub-esque in its' proportions like some I have encountered. There is a computer in the lobby with free internet access for all guests to use. It is located right on the freeway approx 5 mins drive from downtown which is not far, I believe searching for hotels of the SAME STANDARD any closer to downtown will yield zero results. You need a car to get around Austin, relying on public transport is naive at best and will obviously slow you down. There is a motel next door to this one which is a fraction cheaper but looks a lot more well-worn. We had a thoroughly pleasant stay here, did not encounter any suspicious characters (?) and would happily recommend it to anybody.

“A Nice Place to Stay and a Good Value for the Money”

For the cost, the hotel was excellent. It was relatively convenient, if you had a car (downtown, capital, and university just minutes away); it was quiet, even on the weekend; the staff was friendly; and the room was clean. Because of hotel refurbishment, the continental breakfast was limited but okay.
