Good Location, But room could be cleaner. 2.5 star

Cons: Overall, I think they could have an nice hotel. For now, this is just an average hotel.... And the 2.5 star rating is accurate.
Location: Lots of food options and a state park
The reviews are mixed on this property so I hope this helps. This is just an average hotel.... And the 2.5 star rating is accurate. My husband and I had an overnight stay. We arrived late at almost 10pm . True, check-in was a bit slow as other have stated. And yes, it is a safe area, close to food and not too far from the mall and near a state park.. YES, It was a bit tricky to find, because it does sit up a hill surrounded by trees. The property was quiet and I liked the fact that it was nestled amongst the trees. We stayed in room #205, the room was decent sized. There was no carpet in our room and I was very glad about that. YES, I agree the kitchenette was a bit dated and well used. But was decent enough. True, you have to go to the front desk to get plates, pans and items to use if you plan to cook. And True, the front desk people did NOT mention this to us either when we checked-in. Yes, it would be nice to have this informed at check-in. But we weren't cooking so. Our room didn't have dead insects, however we did find the top of the frig had thick dust ( I only mention because at 5'5" I could see on top of the frig.) Not very appetizing, but I cleaned it off, as far as I could reach. So that was too big a deal. Yes, I too had a microwave that could have used a bit more wiping off- as it had what appeared to be grease on the front, but that wasn't too bad either. However the bathroom sink, toilet and shower were a different story. I worked in ja

Cons: Where to start. More friendly/nice staff. Floors and lobby vacuumed.

When I checked in, the lobby hasn't been vacuumed. The front desk lady acted as if she didn't want to be there. She was not sociable at all. The manager had to be found, wasn't ready available for the front desk lady. Front desk lady had to leave the area to find the manager. The hotel smelled stale. As if it had been locked up and the air condition just turned on. The hall ways had not been vacuumed. I will not recommend this hotel anyone.

decent for the price

Pros: it was close to where i needed to be quiet
Cons: more blankets on bed there needs to be better signage to it, even though I had my gps i missed the turn and did the same thing the next day...
Felt safe (I was alone with my teen daughter so that was important to me). The room felt a bit bare and I think the whole inside needs a good paint job, but it was ok. The breakfast is 'grab and go' peanut bars and apples etc

I understand that I paid a cheap price, but Id at least expect the room to be clean. Did not want to walk barefoot in the bathroom or on the carpet. There was filth everywhere. The tub did not drain I could see hair clogged in it, and they entire hotel had a nauseating smell. Breakfast was joke, yes, it was free, but everything was expired and the fruit was old. The only good thing was the coffee. The location was good and the so was the price, but other than that I wouldn't recommended staying here. Thankfully I only needed a room for one night. This hotel needs a seriously interior remodel and the staff to do a better job cleaning the rooms. The front desk staff was okay.

Not terrible... but disappointing

Pros: Strength Overall - Second day staff was hospitable. Hotel area is convenient.
Cons: Weakness Overall - Hotel needs better cleaning staff. Security for strange people, and more towels and washcloths to prevent "Sorry, we are out".
Location: Highway, Harry's Pizza (ok)
Checkin was ok. Staff was cordial. However, when got to the room, the pillow on the bed had a huge makeup smear and there was only one washcloth. (Normally you receive 2 per person). I took the pillow to the front desk - I was told 'the cleaner must have missed it'. *missed changing a pillowcase - ugh* I asked for 3 additional washcloths (2 people paid room). 'Sorry, we are out of washcloths. Would you like a kitchen cloth?' *ughh.. NO!!* I waited until morning to ask the next staff on shift and received 3 additional cloths. Strange people constantly sitting in the common area.. and I mean STRANGE!!. Asked someone who looked to be Manager or owner where the ice machine was.. 'We don't have an ice machine'. Cornflakes under the couch and lint bunnies from hell! Bathroom and tub had a clog as the water drained really slow.

I would not recommend this hotel. The AC didn't work and when calling to ask about it, I followed her instructions. This didn't solve the problem. I mentioned to the front desk as we were leaving and was told they were sold out and no one was there to come look at it. I had to sleep with the window open all night, which caused major noise for us. I also went down around 9:30am, after breakfast concluded at 9am, to ask for coffee. This is maybe the first hotel I have stayed at that didn't offer coffee past the breakfast time or all day like many others do. Lastly, it smelled like someone had literally died on the 2nd floor. The smell was so bad it was nauseating to us both. I mentioned to the front desk and also to a house keeper.

The hotel was a great place to stay. The service was fast and efficient. The best part is the location like a hideaway.
