Served its purpose

Great for the price. Location not the best. Were there for a very short stay, so it served its purpose.

Don't Go There

Posted 13-Jan-2015
Pros: The restaurant next door was awesome, when we return to Atlanta we will eat there again.
Cons: Update rooms, train staff in customer service, how to clean, replace mattresses and really cheap furniture.
Location: Fairly close to the Georgia Dome and downtown, said there was an arts district nearby but the neighborhood was bad and we did not venture out.
The rooms are worn and dirty, there was no shower curtain on the tub, coffee grounds left from another guest in the coffee pot, the bathroom door would not shut and the door handle and lock were loose , the mattress had a 8-12 inch depression in the middle. Saturday night there was a triple shooting two blocks away, sirens blasting. The Restaurant next door (75 feet away) was power washing the sidewalks at 11:00pm Sunday night. You could hear EVERY word spoken on the halls or rooms above and next door. The staff seemed unsure of procedures and often ignored guests as they passed by the front desk. I tired to send an email via the Castleberry Inn and Suites website and the email was returned. No wonder they only have two reviews! Even the elevator had damaged walls and the damage was old based on the dirt and dust. The pictures given to Expedia and on the Castleberry website look nothing like the room we had.

Wouldn't recommend

Posted 13-Jan-2015
Have to fight the restaurant next door for parking or park across the road, found hair in one of the beds, sink and shower. No wifi. Hvac was extremely loud. Towels were stained. Turn on the tv and it was on a r rated movie and my 4 year old heard a string of vulgarity. Beds were awful. Can hear everything in surrounding rooms down to the foot steps. Wouldn't stay there again at any price.

nothing special

Posted 13-Jan-2015
Pros: price
Cons: the hotel needs a make over and bad!
Location: AmericasMart / Georgia Dome / Downtown Atlanta
Apparently I had the better of the rooms my colleagues were staying in at the Castleberry. They complained of broken plumbing, crappy beds and dirty bathrooms. My room was as I would have expected ... nothing special, but clean.

Pros: Staff
Cons: Dated furniture
Location: Close to many attractions (Coke cola Museum, Aquarium), but seedy part of town.
Nothing fancy, iffy side of town, but the staff was attentive, responsive and polite. The shower water pressure could put an eye out.

I would expect a cleaner, better room in Haiti. The smell was sickening.

Very spacious rooms

Posted 5-Jan-2015
Pros: Room space.
Cons: Elevator.
Location: Close to downtown
The rooms was much bigger than I expected, very good value! Not the location I thought, didn't feel safe to walk at night, but that's what Uber is for. Would definitely stay again.

Pros: Closeness to Georgia Dome, continental breakfast
Cons: Housekeeping overlooked a few things in our two night stay. Easy fixes for missing/ low stocked items: toilet paper, kleenex, bath towels
The hotel was walking distance to Georgia Dome - our destination. Not in the best part of town, but parking lot was secure with a guard on duty at night.

A last resort type of place.

Posted 2-Jan-2015
Pros: Hot shower. Free breakfast.
Cons: Staff training and lack of people skills.
Location: Neighborhood is one in which you should not venture out at night.
I stayed here for New years and will never go back. The hotel stuff is profane and unprofessional, and the facilities are depressing at best. I stayed here because it was in walking distance to the Georgia Dome, however the next time I travel to Atlanta, I will pay for a taxi rather than stay here. I will say that I was able to take a hot shower in my room and they did provide a free hot breakfast. I believe that those are the only positives I can come up with. I definitely would not bring my family to this place, however if you are traveling and only looking for a place to lay your head for a few hours at night and cannot find any other place then this will work.

Good for Sleeping/Not a Resort

Posted 15-Nov-2014
Pros: The price was right.
Cons: Move the breakfast start time to 6:30 a.m. and don't charge for computer use.
Location: A little over a mile from downtown Atlanta and entertainment venues. Nothing worthwhile in walking distance.
The facility was okay for someone who just needed to have somewhere to sleep and not spend a lot of time in the room. My room was small, bed was comfortable; there was a desk, tv, clock radio and clean bathroom. Nice lobby and typical breakfast with waffle maker, cereal selection, bagels, toast, yogurt, coffee, tea, and juice. Very nice southern restaurant on the premises. Only other nearby eatery is a Burger King across the street. The only negative was a charge to use the computer to print out anything you may need or airplane boarding passes. The hotel is a little over a mile from the heart of downtown - an easy drive by car or by taxi. The plus is that parking is free. As I started off by saying,I was up and out of the room in the morning and returned late to just sleep. It was a good deal.
