“Clean, comfortable, friendly!”
Great hotel! Less than 10 minutes to beautiful black sand beach, restaurants, tour operators, etc. Located on a quiet street with parking lot, breakfast included. Charming hotel painted white and blue. Smelled nice, very clean. Had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
“Superb location and service”
The hotel is minutes walk from Plaka, the acropolis, and the old nice city. Also 200m from the place Syntagma so very convenient for buses and tube.
“Calme bien que très proche de Plaka”
Situé dans une petite rue à deux pas de la place Syntagma et très proche de Plaka, les chambres sont très propres et très calmes. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et irréprochable.
“A hidden gem!”
From the moment we arrived at the Hermes Hotel in Athens, we were impressed. The reception area is airy and welcoming. The man on reception (sorry didn't get his name) was very helpful and was able to allocate us our room immediately although we arrived at 10.00 am on a Saturday morning. Lovely room with balcony bathed in sunshine. Always welcome in Athens hotels to have a fridge. The breakfast was varied with cereals, fruit, juice, yoghurt & honey and plenty of bread and pastries. Also some cooked food (eggs and sausages I think). Although Apollonia street quite quiet, smack in between Syntagma Square and Plaka so perfect tourist location. Would definitely return here.
“Excellent!”
This hotel was a delight. A competent and friendly staff, a hot breakfast every morning and plenty of hot water for showering, which is sometimes rare in Greece. The room was Spartan but served us well.
“Hermes Hotel Athens review from EDINBURGH visitors”
good comfortable well run friendly professional helpful hotel in excellent situation near Syntagma and Acropolis....easy to find easy to locate
“Couldn't be better”
An excellent value hotel in a superb central location. We arrived in the evening during the demonstrations and got caught up in the tear-gas being fired by the police in the main square. The staff were fantastic in looking after us and making sure we were all right. The next day everything was back to normal and we had a great holiday seeing the fantastic sights of Athens
“Great Hotel, Great Bargin!!”
The hotel is well kept. Very helpful staff and it has a great location. It is rated as a 2 star hotel ,but it is a lot closer to a 4 star hotel.
“Hermes Hotel Athens”
Excellent value for money. Friendly, helpful staff. Easy walking distance to Syntagma, Plaka and Acropolis. Wide choice for Breakfast.
“Perfect, central, quiet and clean”
This little hotel is modern, comfortable and most importantly, quiet. It's on a small side street just a couple of mins walk from Syntagma Square, the streets of Plaka and some of the main sites. The reception staff are helpful and speak enough English to help out with most requests. There is a lounge, some books and mags, and internet access. The rooms are modern, comfortable and clean. The air con works (and boy do you need it in sweltering Athens heat!), but like every hotel we've stayed at, it is a little noisy at night if you need to leave it on. Buffet breakfast was fine - nothing special, but a decent choice of breads, toasts, fruit. Not hugely cheap, but a good choice for central Athens.

Area:
Plaka, Athens, Greece: Quaint and touristy, Athens oldest residential quarter sits in the shadow of the Acropolis. Plakas narrow cobbled streets are lined with bougainvillea-clad neoclassical mansions, souvenir shops and pseudo-traditional tavernas, some with live music. A village atmosphere prevails, despite the crowds. Close to all the top sights, it makes the best base for a short stay.
