“the facilities”
Was pleasantly suprised by the many facilities provided by the hotel. Was a very relaxing and comfortable experience.
“On The Bus Line”
This is an older hotel but well maintained with some unexpected features like a generous complimentary breakfast and a computer with web access in each room. Four buses that go through the Center City stop almost in front of the building so even though the neighborhood is a bit off putting at first sight, the hotel is pleasant and the city accessible for only .50 Euro's per trip. I would stay there again and considered it a very good bargain -- especially in the height of tourist season.
“Loved Greece”
This was a small budget hotel with quaint little rooms. I immediately felt good when I entered my room. It was clean and cozy and it had free internet service. It was perfect to be able to take care of those things I needed done online. It is located on Sygrou which is not far from the Syntagma station and easy access to the local transportation. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. I really enjoyed my time there.
“Average hotel”
The hotel was quiet but the bathroom was unimpressive. There was a wierd sit down tub but other than that it was pretty good. Free internet here downstairs btw.
“Funtional & good value”
I stayed for 3 nights in April 2007 and was satisfied with the facilities. Room was fine, but benefited from being at the back of the hotel and therefore away from most of the noise of the busy dual carriage way where the hotel is located. Food was fine - usual continental style buffet breakfast and good choice of evening meals. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I opted to walk into Athens city centre and this took about 45 mins, although buses are available. The square behind the hotel is a walk of about 10 mins, where numerous shops, bars and restaurants are located.
“Good budget hotel”
A good budget hotel. Once you work out the bus system the trip to the city centre doesn't seem so daunting. On the whole, staff were friendly and helpful. On the down side, the safe in our room wasn't working - so we had to leave our valuables in reception and we had no internet access our room, but used the free public access downstairs. I'd stay there again.
“Nice small hotel”
Excellent service; at reception desk staff was very friendly and prompt to give you the necessary information in English. Hotel is located few bus stations from Sygroo-Fix subway station, which is the first one from Acropolys station, then from city center. Room was small but clean and comfortable; we had even a balcony to the site of the hotel; we asked for a quiet room and we got it. Nice surprise: we had free Internet access, air conditioner and a fridge in our room. Everything was working well in the bathroom; the only thing mising was a fresh coat of paint; bathroom needed a renovation for aestetics reasons. The breakfast was excellent not different from the one we had at a four star hotel we had with a tour booked in Canada on the same vacation. we discovered a nice, convenient restaurant at Sygroo-Fix subaway station (Ambrosia) with outdoor terrace. Admire Athens from top of Lycabetos Hill; go with the cable car and wait there for the sun set. Visit the National Archeological Museum; free entrance all Sundays. Take the feryboat from Pyreus (15 euros both ways) to Aegina island and visit there the ancient Afaia-Ahtens temple or/and more recent Saint Necatarios the Healer monastery. Or book a day trip to Delphi; the scenic road goes through magnificent mountains and valleys
“Excellent Location and very friendly staff”
This hotel was actually in a very good location to walk everywhere. Turn right out of the hotel and carry on walking for 20-30 mins and you are in the City centre, also excellent for public transport links. Staff were very friendly especially in the bar - try the 'Gin Fizz' - delicious!! The only complaint I had was that the shower was ridiculous - we had to crouch into a tiny bath to try and wash - but it didn't impact at all on a fabulous weekend. Full aircon, internet in each room and a TV wil English channels. A bargain for a Capital City hotel.
“Convenient place to stay”
This hotel was conveniently located next to a bus stop and wasn't far from Athens' city centre. It wasn't in the best condition, but it was clean and acceptable to stay in for the few nights that we were there. The staff were courteous and helpful as well.
“great time”
Hotel was old, next to a strip bar, main highway but buses. There were plenty of car dealers, some restaurants, and a store a couple blocks away. The room had no shower, weird half tub you had to sit and shower yourself, no curtain. The traffic noise was constant. The bus took us straight to the downtown for transfer to see the sights. For the price it was great. The Greeks do not like americans so tell them you are from Canada or Britain and they will warm up to you. It was great.
