“Great Hotel”
Just got back from Athens, stayed a week. The Hotel upgraded us as it was my birthday, gave us ice for our own champagne and a complimentary bottle of wine plus fresh fruit and nuts to go with the champagne. They couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and the restaurant service and food quality was excellent too. Try the greek specialities, no more expensive than downtown. The only downside to the Hotel was that the pool wasn't open and neither was the terrace just to be able to chill. The area isn't that great but as another recent reviewer added the whole of Athens had some very dodgy people around, as long as you are sensible its no problem. We didn't rate the food in the restaurant across the road but it was cheaper and all our food came at different times. If you are there for a few days you can buy a ticket which will last a week for 14 euros which you can use on any of the transport in and around Athens. The port of Pireus was grotty so don't waste your time going there, unless you catch a boat from there to another island, Aegena was nice and about an hours trip. My favourite trip was to Lake Vouglameni [40 mins on bus] which is a salt water inland lake, where you can swim and the fish nibble the dead skin on your toes. The Parthenon and Olympic stadium were my favourite city sites.
“Wonderful experience”
Apart from having my purse stolen on the way to the hotel, our whole experience in Athens was wonderful. The hotel, the Greek people and the city are amazing. Parts of the City are very run down, but other areas are extremely interesting . Until you see the city and the sights you just cannot appreciate the history and age of Athens. I cannot wait to go back to Greece again
“a very pleasant 7 days...”
We spent a week at the classical Athens hotel and it made for a great abode... The hotel was pretty modern and had all the amenities. The staff was very courteous and all our requests were accommodated in a timely manner. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job of maintaining the room. The roof top pool was very nice with great views of the acropolis. The breakfast buffet was yummy... The hotel was kid friendly and our 9 mo old had a wonderful time. We had an absolute wonderful time and hope you do too...
“Loved it. Would definitely stay there again.”
Literally a block away from the metro station which makes it super convenient to get to the main tourist attractions. A really comfortable, clean, nice looking hotel for a great value. Toiletries provided. Awesome gyros across the street. Gorgeous rooftop with pool and bar/restaurant that provides a stunning view of the Acropolis at night. What more could you ask for? Would totally return if I make it back to Athens.
“Fantastic hotel in the center of Athens at great value”
The Classical Athens Imperial is a modern hotel with all amenities. The comfortable rooms and excellent hotel service deserve the five-star hotel ranking. During my stay I made use of the hotel bar/restaurant - which has a wonderful breakfast buffet and a great variety of snacks, lunch and dinner options. On any of my questions, the hotel staff was very helpful with assisting me. The hotel itself is situation in the Omonia part of Athens, walking distance from Syntagma Square, Plaka and some museums. It's a very convenient and central location. Recently, Omonia saw some violent demonstrations. Hotel staff are not shy to point out that the hotel neighborhood is not particularly nice and somewhat run-down. They advise not to walk in the area at night. However, the metro stop is just across from the hotel entrance, and I had not problem walking from the hotel into Syntagma and Plaka during the day. I was there when the rooftop pool was still closed. But anyone arriving in May and later will without doubt enjoy a spectacular view onto the city and enjoy the outdoor swimming pool. The only thing that was a little bit disappointing was the small gym. There were two treadmills but one was not working properly. Within the gym, there is also a sauna. I had a great time and will definitely consider staying at the Classical Athens Imperial again on my next trip! I can only recommend it.
“Home far away from home”
This place was superb. Honestly take my review into consideration and leave the negatives behind. Expect a big delicious breakfast every morning, and free wifi! You need it, call the front desk and they'll get it. I work at the Hilton back home, and this was identical to what we provide. The only downfall is that we went second week of April and the hotels rooftop pool and bar was closed, had we known we probably would have stayed elsewhere, because a drink at the end of the night viewing the acropolis is what we wanted (no one to blame).
“Merci”
MERCI
“Fit for a King!”
This is a fantastic hotel with professional, polite and helpful staff in a great location. The Metro station was just across the road and allowed quick and easy access to the whole of the city, and we felt safe walking around as we followed the hotel's advice of sticking to the main streets. We were given maps of the city and other helpful advice whenever we enquired anything, the staff were all very friendly and approachable. The breakfast was varied and delicious, ranging from fresh fruits, continental style, hot cooked variety and plenty of cakes :-) Unfortunately the swimming pool was not open during our stay in mid May, I guess this is a seasonal issue, and we gladly took the option of a room upgrade offered to us without asking. The room was exceptionally clean and well kept, the cleaning staff courteous and friendly, the upgraded room was a bonus to an already brilliant holiday in Athens. I would recommend this hotel to anyone; it was reasonably priced, clean, well kept and the breakfast was great, what's not to like?
“Real 5 Stars, not-so-good neighborhood but Central”
A real five-star hotel - with a budget price. The only issue: not the best neighborhood in Athens; however, very centrally located, next to the Metro, minutes away from all important attractions. Nice (but very small) gym; cute roof-top swimming pool, with amazing views of Athens!
“dodgy area hotel”
The entire trip went without a hitch. The extra trips around Athens and the Saronic Islands were especially well organised - being picked up at the hotel was a huge plus. The only negative was the location of the hotel as it skirted a slightly ghetto area. Otherwise the hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff were very courteous. We didn't eat at the hotel because prices were unrealistically high. The use of the Metro was a fantasticway to get around and not in the least scary.
