A 24,000-square-foot casino opens at noon for slot machines, with blackjack, craps, roulette, Caribbean stud poker, and three-card poker available from 5 PM until the casino closes at 3 AM (schedule subject to change). The casino bar hosts live music nightly.
Wireless Internet access (surcharge) is available throughout the Occidental Grand Resort. A business center contains five computers with high-speed Internet access (surcharge). The hotel also offers massages; advanced reservations are required.

The Occidental Grand Aruba offers 391 guestrooms in two nine-story buildings with red-tile roofs. Furnished balconies and patios face the pool, garden, or sea. Two-poster beds are topped with white damask comforters, blue-tone throws, and blue throw pillows. Mahogany-stained furniture includes desks. Rattan-paddle ceiling fans supplement air conditioning. Rooms have upholstered chaise longues. Marble bathrooms include glassed-in shower/tub combinations.
TVs offer U.S./international cable channels. DVD and CD players are also provided. Compact refrigerators contain water, soft drinks, and beer. Wireless Internet access is available (surcharge, except in Royal Club rooms).
Royal Club rooms are located on the top three floors (7–9). Guests of these rooms enjoy access to an exclusive 9th-floor, panoramic-sea-view concierge/check-in lounge serving buffet and à la carte breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. These rooms also include complimentary wireless Internet access, 24-hour room service, bathrobes, and turndown service. Royal Club guests receive a fruit basket and bottle of wine upon arrival. This room type cannot accommodate a rollaway bed.

The Occidental Grand Aruba faces a 137-m (50-yard) stretch of Palm Beach along the turquoise Caribbean Sea. There are sun loungers, towels, and umbrellas on the beach. A 137-m (50-yard) lagoon-style pool includes a swimup bar and a rock-waterfall island with two spa tubs.
The resort supplies snorkeling gear, windsurfers, small sailboats, pedal boats, and kayaks. Water-sports centers on the beach rent personal watercraft and offer parasailing, banana-boating, waterskiing, tubing, kneeboarding, wakeboarding, snorkeling, scuba, and sailing adventures.
Land sports include tennis on two lighted courts, beach volleyball, and basketball.
The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the resort; fees may apply.

“Great Hotel”
We had a wonderful time,the people were friendly,the service good and the hotel very, very beautiful. We chose an all-inclusive because we had never been to Aruba before and didn't know what to expect but even though the food at the Occidental was great we did eat out a couple of nights. The hotel is right in the middle of all the action on this strip of beach and you can walk to pretty much anything you want from Hard Rock to Iguana's. We felt very safe in our surrounding and took advantage of the snuba diving and motorcycling opportunities. Will go back!!
“Had a great time.”
My husband, sister in law and brother in law just spent 5 days at the hotel to celebrate his birthday. After reading the mixed reviews, I was a little concerned. However, we had a wonderful stay. The staff was extremely friendly, the food very good and the beach & pool area very nice. We stayed on the Royal Club level which was very convenient for booking dinners, water view room and room service. We plan to go back again.

Very clean hotel, friendly service, was rennovated in 2006 so it's up-to-date looking. Food was good at most of the restaurants. Nice pool & beach area. No real complaints. Would stay again...
“Very Impressed”
We traveled July 26 - July 31 and had no problems whatsoever. We were alittle concerned after reading some of the other reviews but found no validity to other's remarks. We had no problem checking in, i.e. extended wait time. We had no problem getting dinner reservations and found the restaurants to have very good service and food. Our minibar was stocked every other day as scheduled. The hotel was immaculately maintained and clean. Everything met or exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend the hotel and would certainly stay there again.

“Best Vibe in Town”
My wife and I just got back from our second honeymoon, and all I have to say is "I cant wait to go back". We were hesitant to book the Occidental because of many poor reviews, but we took a chance and were completely satisfied. A lot of bang for the buck, the bartenders were all super friendly and generous on the pour. Can't go wrong with breakfast or lunch but dinner was better than average. Great grounds and atmosphere, the pool crowd was the most active at of all the resorts we saw. Walking distance to many satelite restaurants and shops. Met some new friends and had a blast, give it a shot if your not impossible to please.
“Relaxing Romantic and so fun!!”
It's great!! I am from Puerto Rico so I have seen my share of beautifull beaches, but this hotels beach is perfect. I loved the room, and the "all inclusive" is really ALL INCLUSIVE. I strongly recomend this hotel. Must try the Asian restaurant. It's very romantic and beautifull, i's a perfect place to have youre martinis with your special someone enjoying the beautifull view.
“Very nice EXCELLENT FOOD”
We went here on our honeymoon and we had alot of fun. the hotel is very clean and the food omg it was always fresh especially the seafood night witht the lobster and crab legs my husband went crazy lol. The only thing is the room the bathroom the tiles could have been plastered better it was a bit of an eyesore but other than that the room was clean but it does have alittle mildewy smell like some other reviewers mentioned i think its cuz of the humidity and the ac so we opened the balcony and let the room air out and it did the trick! I have absoluetly no complaints about this hotel they had a wonderful beach great pool good bars friendly staff. we had the grand romance package and they gave us the strawberrys champagne massage it was nice. We will be back to aruba again.
“Great Anniversary for Experienced Travelers”
We chose Aruba for our 20th wedding anniversary. We have been to multiple all inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, Cancun, Riviera Maya, and Jamaica. We chose the Occidental because it was an all-inclusive and because of price. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The food was excellent and varied. It was no problem getting reservations in the specialty restaurants; the Oriental was fantastic and the service at L'Olio (italian) was first-rate (Edgar was our server). The pool and beach areas were clean and beautiful. While people did put towels on chairs, we never had trouble securing a seat in sun or in shade, regardless of when we arrived. Drinks were plentiful, and the liquors used were not the cheapest variety. The building is a bit "dated" on the exterior, but our room was clean and nice, with good water pressure and NO bugs despite being on the first floor. Upon hearing it was our anniversary, Sandra, the manager, sent us a lovely note, acknowledged us on the daily information sheet, and sent a bottle of champagne to our room. The location of the hotel is fantastic - there are shops, eateries, music, and dancing just across the street. The nightly entertainment in the bar area (7 -9 pm), and live music was fantastic. We usually travel with our children (13 and 9). Few children were at this resort, but it may have been due to the time of the year. We would definitely choose Aruba and the Occidental again!
