“very impressed”
Hotel Badia di Campoleone We are an adult couple and were guests at this hotel for 4 nights and have extended our stay for another 2. The hotel is probably the best countryside we have ever stayed in within Tuscany or Italy. It has everything right – from the ample space in and around, the real country house atmosphere of Tuscany and the best food. The swimming pool as well as the around excursions in the nearby village and its beautiful landscape, the peaceful surrounding and the vicinity to Arezzo makes the stay ideal. The overall score for all categories is 5.
“Beautiful place to escape in Tuscany”
We went outside school holidays so the resort was extremely quiet. Beautiful setting and pool. The restuarant on the terrace was amazing with fabulous food every night prepaered to an extremely high standard. The standard of hotel, quailty of food and accommodation were way beyond what we expected for the price we paid.
“Beautifully restored Tuscan villa with amazing food and service”
Just got back from a 3-night stay. Can't recommend this hotel enough. My friend and I were among the only people there (end of the season of Tuscany) and in fact the only people there the last night, but we were treated like royalty. The hotel is beautifully restored and very well run. The suites in the house are particularly gorgeous--we got the full tour and saw many of them. Beautiful murals and wonderful antiques; perfect mix of traditional and modern luxe. Restaurant is very good--try the Tuscan menu (but skip a meal before you do it!). Spa is also good--extensive range of treatments; my massage was wonderful. The hotel will arrange a shuttle into Arezzo during the day (otherwise it's a 15 euro trip by taxi) and Florence is an easy hour away by train, but I would recommend saving some time to just enjoy the villa and its grounds, especially in the summer when the pool is open. Most of all, the service at the hotel is excellent--polite, professional, warm and you can tell that they are all proud of the property. It all made for a really magical experience.
“fabuleux”
“Culinary Heaven in the Tuscan Countryside”
We were a little apprehensive after getting off the Autostrada and entering a light industrial area on our way to Badia. Our concerns were quickly dispelled, however, when our GPS (very helpful finding this somewhat off the beaten path resport)then led us down country roads past sunflowers and grapevines. We were greeted with a warm welcome and soon ensconsed in the ancient osteria for an authentic Tuscan dinner. The water menu! was a bit offputting at first, but the dinner actually ended up being informal and comfortable, with fantastic food and wine. We had another outdoor 7-course dinner for the mid-August festival, which was absolutely amazing, with many extras (prosecco, appetizers, a great live singer). The maitre'd, sommelier and wait staff were all knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms (we shared a 2-bedroom apartment with our kids)were quality and comfort all the way. Picturesque, clean, roomy, with all needed services, including a small kitchenette (market within walking distance). We used Badia as a well-located base for day trips to Florence and numerous other Tuscan destinations, and still found part of a day to enjoy the pool and beautiful grounds. We didn't get around to using the spa services, but they seemed quite popular. Never did find out what the "emotional shower" was. We'd like to return some day with a larger group.
“Best Choice we could have made for a special occasion”
This hotel exceeded all our expectations. Apart from the buil;ding and location which were excellent all the staff were extremely friendly and willing to assist. The menu and food were excellent. The pool was luxurious. The extra wellness centre was excellent. If you are interested in the golf facility then make sure it is completed and available. Our only gripes were the fact thet the air condiitoning automatically turned off when the room was vacated so one returned to a warm room, and the top power selection did not quickly restore a comfo5rtable environment; also we would have liked to have been able to make a coffee or teain the room. Neither of these criticisms were in any way major or would deter us from returning or recommending to others. You can make no better choice than this hotel.
“Great countryside hotel - central for exploring much of Tuscany”
This hotel is nr Arezzo, a lovely historic town with a beautiful central piazza, and lots of restaurants and cafes if you choose not to eat at the hotel. There are also lots of historic churches and some of the best 'frescoes' in Italy. The hotel is about 1hr away from Florence, one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. We stayed in a tri-cale 2bed apartment which sleeped 6. It had excellent facilities (2 bathrooms and kitchenette), away from the main hotel building - but all the hotel facilities were nearby - and were available for our use. The pool and pool bar were in daily use, but never too busy. Linen and towels were changed daily, including towels for use at the pool, and the apartment was cleaned. We did not experience a complimentary 'emotional' shower in the health spa, but it was offered, and many clients appeared to be using these facilities. We were too busy exploring to use it!!! We ate in the hotel restaurant for dinner one evening and found the food fabulous, albeit not as cheap as restaurants in Arezzo. We would go back to Tuscany and book into this hotel again. A really luxurious stay.
“Beautiful Tuscan villa tucked into the countryside”
We LOVED the peaceful setting. Gorgeous rooms! Beautiful grounds, w/ well-kept gardens and enormous pool area. The chef was fantastic -- we took many of our meals at the restaurant. If you want to get away from it all, this is the perfect retreat!!!
“Exquisite setting. Great place to stay and be.”
Exquisite, setting and beautiful architechture and decor. Great food/dining room and helpful and great staff. Lots to do in the area. Arezzo is incredible and only 10 minutes away. Chianti area is next door too. Beautiful quiet setting and pool. Great spa. Out in the country-side. A bit tough to find the first time, but well worth that part of the adventure. Get a map if possible.
“calme et volupté”
Une villa italienne, un parc, une piscine, un jardin, un décor de rêve
