We stayed in cabin C5 and the room is spacious and clean. We did have 3 issues (1) the very firm bed which felt like we were sleeping on the spring box and not a mattress; (2) the bathroom door creaked so loudly that we were certain it woke up all our neighbors and the animals outside when we used the bathroom at night and (3) the shower water never got hot, just warm. If you don't mind any of these then the place is fine and a good value for the money.

Beautiful gardens and view of arenal volcano. Loved the hiking path on the property (about a 30min. Walk to complete the trail). Nice breakfast area with view of bird bath that attracts many different kinds of birds. Breakfast was not included in our stay, so we only had breakfast on site once.

A major disappointment. No staff, no service. Reception amounts to handing over the key and off you go unescorted down the hill to your accommodation. Room was not bad, reasonably comfortable and furnished but lacked hot water. Cable television never worked during our three night stay.. No bar or food available during the day. Small restaurant with one worker to do everything. Fortunately he was a very good cook and pleasant waiter. but we never stayed around to see how he handled the dish washing. We had an excellent meal in an empty restaurant. We were the only people there that night, and wanted to return the next night, a week night, to save us driving into town, only to be informed that the restaurant would be closed. In short if you are only looking for a dry and clean room to hang your head this place works. As a resort hotel it falls very short. There must be better places to be found in the area for the same price.

Booked through Expedia Plainly said breakfast included Had coffee only & partner had a full breakfast Upon checkout the guy told me I owed for two full breakfast I showed him the receipt from Expedia & he told me I still owed for 2 full breakfast Had to argue with him & ended up paying for 1 full breakfast & coffee Bed in room was Very Hard Little parking with lots of Muddy area’s

Great stay in La Fortuna! This property is slightly removed from the town which we thoroughly enjoyed the quiet. The grounds are very clean and well kept with lots of birds, flowers, puppies, and a beautiful view. The room was very clean, staff were friendly and breakfast was fantastic! Highly recommend and would stay here again!

We stayed there for one night. The room was nice and clean. The area is nice. The staff is very friendly. We dined at the restaurant “yellow tree” inside the hotel properties, we loved the food! It was tasty, well presented and the chef was friendly too.

Incredible!
This was a little gem! One of our favourite stays for a fun natural stay. Fall asleep to the animals in the rainforest. Hear the rain fall. Customer service was second to none. Exceptional care of those staying here. Restaurant was awesome, too. Just a great place overall!

In a quiet part of la Fortuna, I’m on the hill. Beautiful garden surrounding the cabanas, full of birds. Nice room with 6 beds, perfect for our family. Water a bit wonky and cloudy out of the tap. We never saw the owner checking in or anyone at all checking out. I would definitely stay there again

I would just like to clarify that in Costa Rica when there is a lot of water pressure in the pipes it is normal that due to the pressure, the water comes out a little white but it happens throughout our country, Costa Rica has 100% potable water, we hope you can visit us again soon.

The garden is beautiful. It's close to downtown, and quiet location. The front desk is very helpful. One of our tour guides didn't show up, the front desk helped us to find an alternative tour on that day. She also recommended a local hot spring which only costs $8 pp, and it's wonderful experience, definitely worth it.

Gorgeous Place run by Lovely People
Loved Brisas Arenal. Gardens are beautiful. Room was large. Staff were AMAZING. Food was delicious. I definitely recommend this hotel. I would suggest hiring a car if you want to stay here though as Taxi's are expensive and you are out of town so really need transport.

We loved being off the main road and the uniqueness of the property. We enjoyed sitting on the porch with nature around us and the view of the Arenal volcano. We enjoyed the hammocks too.

Hidden gem that's close to town
This place felt like a hidden gem. Private little cabins on gorgeous grounds with a beautiful view of the volcano (when the clouds parted). But it was super close to downtown La Fortuna and other activities in and around town. Our only complaints were that the breakfast was not good and the wifi was spotty. But the price was very reasonable and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

The property grounds are very beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are not luxurious by any standard, but they seemed adequate upon arrival. On our second day of our 2 day stay, our room became infested with countless flying insects (maybe termites). The staff was responsive and did move us to another room, which helped, but the overall impression of the stay turned from neutral to negative after that experience, especially because this happened during bedtime, and we had an early morning ahead of us to get back to San Jose and drop off our rental car before our flight. With 3 small children, this made our last night in Costa Rica not exactly pleasant and relaxing. Speaking of 3 small children, I booked this particular hotel through Expedia with them in mind, for two reasons. 1) it had a room with bunk beds 2) breakfast was said to be included. We arrived at the hotel at 8:30pm, and the lights at the reception building were off and doors were locked. So keep that in mind if you stay here. Arrive before 7pm. Also, the included breakfast isn't included. You have to order it the night before, and it's $6 per adult, $3 per child, and they bring it to your room. When I booked the room through Expedia, I had my party listed as 2 adults and 3 small children, but somehow the booking didn't end up including the kids. I didn't know this, but when I was asking about breakfast, the front desk guy demanded I pay them more money. I laughed at him and left. I rate my stay 3/10

Good morning Stephen, to begin with, we are sorry that your stay was not what you expected, but as data to highlight, on July 17, you did not want your room to be cleaned, so we do not know how clean it was, our hotel is in the middle of the mountain, so it is totally logical that there are insects and other animals, ants usually enter the rooms if there is food leftovers due to lack of cleanliness and in your case, the room is not cleaned because you do not wanted it, even so the inconvenience was quickly solved Regarding the reservation, both in our system and on the Expedia page, your reservation was made for 2 people, therefore the price was for 2 people, it is the guest's responsibility to verify the details of their reservation, dates, number of nights and number of people, and if in our system the reservation says 2 people and you arrive with 5, it is logical that there are additional people. Regarding breakfast, I personally explained to you that it was not included but that I had the authorization to include 2 breakfasts but you would have to pay for extra breakfast, as well as explaining in a friendly way that according to our policies the client is responsible for paying for any extra person, and in this case it was 2, since you had a child under 1 year old and even so I tried to help the best I could, but nevertheless, you recognize that you laughed at me and left, when I had nothing what to do with what happened. We are sorry that the general impression of your stay went from neutral to negative. Regards

I have to say for being a off the beaten path property it is one of my top ten places I’ve stayed at in overall comparison.. Starting with the gentlemen that checked us in to the hospitality of the breakfast.. As for location: Amazing.. Getting there is a bit dicey but well worth the drive from La fortuna.. This place is amazing and a defininate come back.. Please tell your guy who checked us in thank you for the map and all the suggestions specially about cacique and the taster.. Those guys are awesome!!!!! Over all 5 Stars.. I’ve been all over US and other countries and gotta say this is top 3…

It’s basically a cabin. So it can be noisy with the birds and bugs outside and ants get in very easily (and into your food). But the staff are amazing, accommodating, and welcoming. The on site restaurant is absolutely delicious with the best host and cook you could ask for. We had children with us and the only thing we wish we had at this hotel was a pool. The kids still loved searching the hotel grounds for animals. We felt very safe and at home.

Quiet, friendly gem of a place
Loved this place! It was so quiet with a beautiful view of Arenal. When we were checking in, we saw some created guans in a tree, and lots of other varieties of birds right on the property. The staff were also incredibly friendly, with the receptionist recommending the locals’ favorite hot springs, Termalitas, over fancier options like Tabacon. Would definitely come again!

Very comfortable stay
Lovely place just a few minutes drive from La Fortuna, with lots of things to do very nearby. The accommodation is extremely generous and comfortable as all other reviews say. We were quite disappointed as there was no view from our room... the view of the volcano was obscured by the staff accommodation, and we had other guests cars parked directly outside our seating area which really spoilt the outlook. Better care could be given to parking arrangements I think, the cars shouldn't park here... management could easily fix this to improve these rooms (area C). We went to go to the on-site restaurant on our second but our it wasn't opening that day. But of a shame as it has been open the night before and looked lovely. No info was given about when it would be open/closed. The grounds of the Brisas are absolutely gorgeous, and there's a nice little forest trail you can walk too. All in all, a good stay, very good value for the money we paid and we were happy overall.

We were blown away by the beauty of the property! The rooms were nice and big. Our shower wasn’t real warm but it was fine for the 3 days we were there. Beds were okay but we slept just fine. The restaurant on property was fantastic. Would stay here again

The person checking us in was from the coffeeshop a d couldn't give much information on the room/hotel. Tried to take a shower after checking in, only cold water. Tried taking a shower in the morning ONLY cold water, tried everything to no a avail....VERY disappointed to say the least. Coffeemaker didn't work and the sheets smelled like a chemical.

This hotel is a little gem. We loved having leisurely dinners in the restaurant and the chefs makes fabulous food. Breakfast on our porch with hammock and rocking chairs and a view of the volcano was so special. We would definitely come stay here again.
