“Exceeds expectations”
We read online reviews whenever we book a hotel and while they do offer a lot of insight, the hotels are never as good as the best reviews say they are, this one was the exception. From the minute you walk through the door you're treated like family. The resort is small, just 33 cottages, so you see the same people everyday and by the second day we were on a first name basis with all of the staff. Our cottage was a beachfront with a plunge pool, worth the upgrade. There was a big deck in the front overlooking the ocean with a big hammock and table and chairs. The outdoor shower is cool too. The food was excellent. The dinner menu changes daily with many styles of cuisine featured and they always offer a "Catch of the Day". One thing you absolutely must do is a wine tasting with Cleus, the sommelier. There are many activities offered through the hotel, we did a tour of the botanical gardens, waterfalls and the volcano, took a shopping trip to Castries (capital city), and another must do is the Friday night fish festival in Anse La Raye, but they were all fun. They also do diving and snorkeling trips but we just rented the gear and snorkeled right in the bay and it was amazing, better than the snorkeling trip we did in Hawaii. You'll read horror stories in other reviews about the stairs down to the beach, don't worry about it. The pros at this resort so far outweigh the cons that they aren't even worth mentioning. I highly recommend and you might see us there when you go...
“Great place”
We had a great time, the location is beautiful, getting there is a little tricky. We hired a car, the "main" roads are quite winding, and it is quite a long way down a very steep track. Once you get there it is great - but don't expect to pop out to the shops or an offsite restaurant without quite a trip. The hotel arrange lots of trips and excursions, so if you want to see other sites on the island then you can easily arrange them even without a car. There is a reef in the bay with some interesting coral (quite a young reef, but a variety of types of coral and lots of fish), it is very shallow, so no need to scuba dive you can see it with a snorkel which you can hire from the dive shop at the beach. They also have sea kayaks for use of guests - and there are some completely deserted beaches only reachable by sea in kayak range. The rooms are lovely with AC and the food was all good.
“BEST PLACE FOR HONEYMOON - 100% ROMANTIC GETAWAY!”
100% ABOVE EXPECTED! I read about TiKaye Village online as a ROMANTIC Carribean Getaway and did not expect to receive the nice service as I did! EVERYONE was very friendly, the staff was great, the oceanfront cttages were very private and romantic. I RATE THIS HOTEL 5.0 OUT OF 5.0! The nice little private beach at Anse Cochon is great. there are some friendly locals selling souveniers, but they are also very nice! I took my Wife here in March 2010 for our Honeymoon and we were 100% satisfied. Very Private and romantic. If you are looking for a place to go for romance, this is it. 90% of the people staying here were couples, so if you are looking for a place to go with family, this is NOT THE PLACE!
“romantic interlude”
Hotel has a great cliff-top location, does not permit kids under 12, and promotes heavily and apparently very successfully to honeymooners. This gives it a particular character The beach is not great (but not many on St Lucia are!) and is at the bottom of long staircase down the cliff. . . accessibility problems for some!
“this resort is fantastic (if a bit isolated)”
The worst thing I can say about this resort is you can't walk from the beach to your room without going through the bar/restaurant. If that is the worst thing about somewhere you know it is pretty special. If you want to relax with your other half go there now. If you want a lively time with big nights out this isn't for you.
“Another satisfied customer”
This was our first visit to St Lucia and was a Honeymoon. The hotel is great and we feel really lucky to have chosen it. We had zero problems with the service, and the food was always very well presented. All transactions are conducted in USD at the resort and were added to a 'tab'. Other guests mentioned 'meal plans' but we were unaware of how to get them. The resort will organise excursions for you and also run their own taxi service, however the prices are high and are always per person even when sharing transport (my only moan). We found it more reasonable and enjoyable to rent a 4x4. The beach is lovely and sun loungers and sea kayaks are provided at no cost to guests, snorkel equipment can be rented as needed. The beach seems to be growing in popularity as often noisy cruise boats and other resorts bring their customers to it, especially in the afternoon. The jewellery sellers on the beach were quite persistent but respond to polite conversation, and understand 'no thank you'. The booking was confirmed by email after an internet search turned up their website. The rooms are superb, we had an 'oceanview' room, which it turns out they all are. We didnt have a plunge-pool and didnt miss it, but were told (of course) how wonderful it is. Even during Hurricane Dean, the staff remained highly professional and continually made our stay there a pleasure. Highly recommended.
“Remote but Worth the Drive!”
The first exposure to the resort is after a torturous one mile rough road entrance, but as the hill is crested, the red roofs set against backdrop of the blue Caribbean Sea you realize the bumps, holes, mud and ruts are worth it! The staff was excellent, helping out with everything you could need. The rooms were air conditioned and spacious, the outdoor shower invigorating and the lack of television refreshing. The beach was amazing, and the few vendors would show their wares, then leave you alone. You could easily spend your whole time on the Island at the resort, but there is much to do, and the staff will be more than happy to help you arrange your vacation priorities. Overall a great experience at Ti Kaye, I'd go back in a heartbeat!
“Would definitely go back...”
My boyfriend and I stayed at TiKaye for four days. We had unfortunate luck while we were there and it rained non-stop the first two days and I was sick and literally bed-bound the last 2 days but I have to say there is no better place to be stuck in a room for 48 hours. The hotel is lovely, the rooms...more like villas, are breath-taking. It is literally as if you have your own apt. The hammock on the porch was my fave and heads up there is no tv in the room. The staff is amongst the friendliest i've met yet and they do a great job at remembering your name and making you feel at home. The nightlife is non-existent and hotel bar closes at 11pm so make sure to do as many excursions as you can in the AM. There is only ONE place to eat dinner each night, so if you dont like the prices you either have to suck it up or go to sleep hungry. I would have appreciated a snack shop or something along those lines. I read these reviews before booking my stay here and they were not kidding about all the steps to the beach, my calves were KILLING me! The kayaking is free and a lot of fun...even in the rain. You can save yourself a few dollars if you bring your own snorkel gear. The only excursion we did was the zip line but I highly recommend it, its exhilarating. If you're a light sleeper you might want to bring some ear plugs, the chirping birds/crickets dont stop all night. Its a wonderful place, I cant wait to stay here again one day.
“Excellent service”
Perfect location for a getaway. Convenient marine sanctuary for snorkeling from the beach. Hotel staff provided best service of any place we have ever stayed. They truly made us feel welcome. Every staff member throughout the resort took the trouble to learn our names and addressed us by name wherever we went.
“Bautiful hotel and very nice staff”
Great place. Very nice stuff. We had a wonderful week and would definetly go back. Online downer are the partyboats during the daytime in the bay - most of them are fine (just weird) but some play loud music. However the Hotel and the staff is worth coming back. One thing to know - there are is a stairway to the beach.
