Clean and worked very well for a short stay. Friendly front-desk staff. The room was standard, small with a comfy bed. Fresh towels every day. Within the room the shower was smelly (the drain). The shower head was also leaky. These were just minor things, otherwise pretty good value.

We stayed here as a budget friendly alternative to staying in Geneva. It wasn't fancy but you aren't paying for fancy. The room was clean, spacious, great shower, comfy bed, free wifi and large fluffy towels. The staff all spoke great English, were really friendly and helpful. We stayed over a weekend and we could hear the bars and restaurants below on the Saturday night but it didn't stop us sleeping, The other nights we heard nothing. Transport links were great for both the train and tram. We easily explored Geneva and the Alps.

Bit of a nightmare.
Took them 3 attempts to give us a clean room, we had to change rooms after the first night and they charged us twice. But hey, they gave us a free breakfast. The walls to the rooms were insanely thin and we could hear every single noise outside. But the location is pretty damn good.

We booked a 4-person unit, even though there were only 3 of us traveling. We expected it to be more spacious. It just included one queen bed, and two twin beds. There wasn't any real dresser, so we had to keep our clothes in the tiny closet, or the open-shelf unit. Mostly kept stuff in our packing cubes. The room was directly on a busy street, so noise was a problem at night. Staff were extremely nice, and very helpful.

We expect better from Best Western!
We chose this hotel as an ideal location to break a journey to the French Alps, but after the long drive from the UK, we were kept awake by the noise from a popular bar opposite the hotel, and then by a crowd of youngsters who had chosen the adjacent room (205) to hold a party at 1:00am! The night porter did come up, following my request, and spoke to the occupants, but loud chatter continued until 6:00am! Thankfully, the hotel breakfast lifted our spirits, but we will not be staying here again.

From your surname and location, we deduced you were the unhappy guest that wanted the AC, when it was only 16 C° outside. When the temperature drops beneath 20C°, we do switch to heating for the comfort of our guests. Sure Hotel was very comfortable with attentive staff. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Off street parking was easily accessed. Room was a bit tired, but clean, and they even provided extra pillows without asking.

A good alternative when visiting Geneva
When visiting Geneva, this offered a cheaper alternative to the expensive Swiss hotels. The number 61 bus stops close by, or for early morning or late night journeys the terminus of the regular number 12 tram is about a 25 minute walk away (and work is well underway to bring the tramline much closer).

Thank you for leaving a review. You have recapped everything :) We are located a few minutes on foot to the nearest bus stop for Geneva, and offer prices that are very different from Switzerland. The new tram you write about will come and go every 10 minutes, allowing you to come and go from and to Geneva earlier in the day and later in the night. It will also have multiple stops in Geneva, bringing you closer to your desired location. The first part will open in less than two month, with a stop a few minutes away on foot from the hotel, and the second part in 2020-2021 will be just one minute on foot from the hotel. La Place is the place.
Everything was as you would like it. Particularly good WiFi connectivity and helpful friendly staff. Very handy for trains and buses - will be even better when Ceva operational. Only one very minor down - had to keep asking for milk and tea bags! Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is comfortable and in a safe environment. Though its far from Geneva Centre but its close to public transport and there is constant transport to geneva Centre. Perfect place when one wants to be away from the pressure of city life. Staff very friendly and could also speak english which was good for me. Very clean and comfortable as well.

Our room was wonderful, clean and comfortable for a family of 4. Though the location was quite busy and noisy at night with restaurants and bars beneath. The parking was tricky too.

Decent alternative to Geneva
Decent alternative should you find Geneva full/overbooked, kept clean & a good range at breakfast in a pleasant Basement room. Access to Annemasse should improve when the works to extend Geneva's tram system to the town are complete, otherwise the bus service is ample, but taxis are somewhat expensive for the short distance covered.

Right in Downtown Annemasse
We were in Switzerland and wanted to spend a night in France. Annemasse is only a few kilometers from Geneva. We were right downtown which is like a small village. They have off road parking in a secure place behind the hotel. The restaurants and shops are all a short walk away including the train station and TI center. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was that we were on the street side of the hotel so it was noisy from the street traffic. The continental breakfast was fine

Convenient and Good value
We only stayed one night en route to Geneva airport -- we were at the hotel for a short sleep of 6 hours. The price was right, the room was clean, the bathroom modern and the bed comfortable. The room is small, so we don't recommend for a long stay. Karim, The night night receptionist, was pleasant and helpful. The location was good but we had no time to see Annemasse. Last, if you want to be close to Geneva airport, the prices of hotels in Annemasse are far less. It took us only 30 minutes to get to the car rental return location. Good value for our purpose.

A basic hotel, but with pleasant and helpful staff
Hotel La Place, is an old style French town hotel. Basic yet clean and with helpful pleasant staff. Bed Linen was good, but the mattress was cheap and too hard for my taste. I stayed at Hotel La Place whilst working in Geneva as all the hotels there were full. It certainly does not compare in quality to a Geneva hotel, but the price is much lower to compensate.

Was ok.. The cheapest option I could find
Had to go to palexpo during a busy week and booked last minute. Did not realise that the hotel Is actually in France, although that was not a problem. The room is pretty straightforward, no frills, but it was very clean, quiet and I got a good sleep, which was what I needed.

It is a good value hotel ! very convenient close to everything. Staff is welcoming ! Room was confortable and clean ! I will recommend this hotel !
