Outdated hotel below average

Posted 26-Jan-2015
Cons: Just rebuild it...
Old building; not clean; wallpaper falling off the walls; old and smelly bathroom towels; horrible breakfast; no remote control in room. Better go across the street to Comfort Inn...

Old hotel with low maintenance

Posted 20-Jan-2015
I was disappointed. I was willing to go with a room that its window is looking out to the hotel's roofed patio (serving as the breakfast area), which meant no natural sunlight. But then, in the morning I found out there were no hot water for shower. It took a while to find anyone to talk to and when I did, the person promised that it is just a matter of 'pressing a restart button' and that within less than an hour there will be hot water. It didn't happen and i didn't wait to see how long it did...

It was very strange! It looked like the place was built with grand plans and then the owners just stopped caring for it at all.

Do not stay at this hotel

Posted 1-Dec-2014
Pros: no much.
Cons: start over and renovate entire building
Location: Convenient to campus
We booked this hotel since it was close to Clemson's campus. It is a good candidate for "Hotel Impossible" Staff are friendly, but the hotel is old and in need of repair. Clear packing tape was used to hold up a panel on a hallway air conditioner. Ceiling tiles were warped, mold in bathroom ceiling. No stopper for sink in bathroom. As mentioned in previous posts, the photos of this hotel are very deceiving. We thought the hotel was abandoned when we first drove up and wasn't sure where the front lobby was; it wasn't marked.

Front Desk Staff Unprofessional

Posted 24-Nov-2014
Pros: Clean, comfortable, good location, decent price
Cons: Front desk professionalism and cleaning up marks on doors and walls of hallways.
Location: Very good location, close to the Clemson University Stadium and other things on campus
The lobby and hallways could use a little sprucing up, but the rooms were clean, nice, and very comfortable. The front desk staff was totally unprofessional. When we walked in about 11:30 PM, one staffer immediately said they were changing shifts and could we wait about 5 minutes to check in. We said yes, but thought since there was no one else checking in at the time they should have checked us in and then changed shifts. So we waited 5 minutes; then 10 minutes; then I had to ask the other staffer if she could check us in then. She said simply yes (no apology or thank you for waiting, etc) and checked us in. The other staffer who had originally asked us to wait just walked off without saying anything while she talked to her boss on the phone giving her/him the update on the night. Never mind taking care of the customers that she had asked to wait. I thought this wise highly unprofessional!

Location: location to Clemson University is great
kind of run down, could use some upgrades. WAY over priced on football weekends. continental breakfast leaves a lot to be desired, but Starbucks and IHop are just around the corner.

Not so much

Posted 30-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
Not sure why a town that attracts 80,000 people to a football game does not have a nice hotel to stay in. This hotel is conveniently located to Clemson University, and we were able to walk to a very nice restaurant for dinner, but the hotel itself is very run down with peeling wallpaper in the bathroom. We took one look at the breakfast buffet in the a.m. and headed to IHOP. Even the coffee was undrinkable, like brown water. Otherwise the staff was very nice, but not much else to say.

Clemson game

Posted 30-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
Enjoyed our stay; we came to see the Clemson game. Receptionist was friendly, but not very knowledgeable about the area. We asked about parking options/recommendations for the Clemson game, but she was unable to provide assistance. We asked another staff member and they were unable to help us. We are not from the area; this would have saved some frustration and wasted time for us. Recommendations: Educate staff so that they can answer simple questions about the area and have hard copies of maps to stadium.
