My husband and I had the opportunity to spend a night at the Copper Whale Inn . We had planned a date night in Anchorage starting at the Performing Arts Center wine tasting along with a carriage ride, shopping and dinner. From the time we checked into the Copper Whale Inn to the time we checked out we found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and quiet. We enjoyed a delicious continental breakfast visiting with staff and other visitors.

We've traveled quite a bit and stayed in many B&B's in several countries and have to say that this was amongst our best overall experiences. It's rare to find such a wonderful combination of setting, lovely furnishings and truly delicious breakfast in one place, all delivered with sincere joy by the host. Susan clearly enjoys what she's doing and it comes through in all aspects of her home and hospitality. We'd go again in a heartbeat. Perhaps Winter? Mush!

We cannot say enough about Maria's Creekside B&B. A beautiful home, beautifully furnished, with a beautiful hostess. Maria helped us with different aspects of our stay and was so generous to us. She is also a great cook. The B&B is located in the center of so much - The Dimond Mall area, hospital, etc. Our room was roomy, quiet, and comfortable. Thank you, Maria, for all of your kindnesses toward us. We have already referred people to you. Our best, Vitto and Aurora Kleinschmidt.

Our family of 5 just returned from a stay at the Hotel Alyeska. We had two ajoining rooms. It was beautiful (although my husband did think the hotel reminded him of the hotel in the Shining). Since it was off season there weren't many choices for dining, although the Aurora Bar and Grill was very good, so it wasn't that big of a deal that we had to eat there twice. We did get breakfast one morning at the Tramway Cafe, and I would not have eaten there again.
The indoor pool and hot tub were very nice. The grounds and trails right outside the hotel were also very nice. I would definitely stay at this hotel if I ever traveled to Alaska again.

We liked this place, yes, it was near the railway station but so is the Hilton and the cost of staying there would be far more expensive to listen to the same sounds. If you are planning on going on a train trip and want somewhere to stay close by, this is the place. Fresh cookies on arrival and the staff were very helpful at all times. Apartments were a little dated but spacious, comfortable, clean with great views from the windows. Well equiped kitchen but no dishwashing liquid so you will have to supply your own. TV's don't have fox but we were never in our room to watch TV, only a little time before bed. Very convenient to the Anchorage markets on Saturday and Sunday, we could actually look at them from our window. Short walk to town, and small grocery store 3 blocks away but it only opens at 10am on Saturdays. In fact not much opens before 10am in Anchorage, very relaxed place compared to other cities. Parking was also easy, out front spot to drop off bags, then free parking lot next door. All you need is a ticket everyday from the reception. Can't really fault this place, and we have stayed at many others. Its all you need when exploring Anchorage. Double curtains also to block out the long summer daylight hours. Plenty of storage also. Free wifi which worked well.
