“Great Location for Cultural Visit”
This is a fantastic option for people traveling on a budget and looking for a safe, centrally located place to sleep. Virtually next door to the Heineken Brewery, there is a departure point across the street for boat tours, the best museums are walking distance or a short tram ride away, there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars within a block or two, as well as the Albert Cuijp market which has fresh food, clothes, treats and much more. This hotel has a sister hotel which is a couple of doors down the street. It is shabbier, feels less safe and the stairwell is not completely sealed off, which is concerning, if you are traveling with children. If they try to relocate you down the street, insist that you booked with Vivaldi because of the safety and the manned reception 24 hours a day. The staff are Chinese, speak excellent English and are very solution oriented if you are respectful and give them an opportunity to strategize. Because the hotel has quadruple rooms, groups of young people frequent the place. It attracts a wholesome, international crowd. This a great place to stay if you are looking to experience the best that an 800 year old city has to offer and you are happy to steer clear of the seedier parts of town.
“Small but Convenient”
I reserved a single room with Internet. The room was smaller than a typical European room. No real desk and no chair. With my bags on the floor could not really take a step in any direction. Internet was available but the connection reset about every 10 minutes. Breakfast was anemic. The good news is that it is located on two tram lines that go to Centraal Station and numerous restaurants are close by.
“bien mais pas top”
chambre petite, bruyante et pas très propre, mais le petit dej est très copieux.malgré ça, l'hôtel est situé en face d'un parc assez sympa, quelques musées a proximité, le tram a 200m vous amènera direct dans le coeur de la ville. bref hôtel un peu miteux mais bien situé.
“Amsterdam Hostel”
Well, we rsv for the VIVALDI hotel but they reasigned to another near it, from the same chinesse ones. It doesnt have elevator and the lauggage was so heavy. The room was clean, and the bathroom. The beds are tiny, but the location is wonderful.
“Not impressed”
Recoment only for people with low budjet. Have breakfast, internet in reception area, people tried to help Room was were small , mirrow broken, but shower was new Price very low
“Dirty horrible hotel”
Great location (5mins walk from Leidseplein) but really isnt even basic, calling it a hostel would be being kind. Room was so small & dirty with a broken set of drawers. Sheets filthy & mould over corners of walls.....would not ever stay here again.

The former is the huge national art collection. The Stedelijk is largely cutting-edge post-1945 art. The Van Gogh is home to 200 of the artists paintings. Nearby Leidseplein is the centre of Amsterdams more raucous nightlife, with famous clubs such as Paradiso and Melkweg. By day, visit the Art Deco Café Americain.
