“Disappointed”

Having paid Expedia in full for my stay, I was surprised to be told that I had to pay and additional 4 Euros in local taxes upon checking in to the hotel. The amount was not a lot, but clearly this was a hidden additional charge which I should have known about at the time of making my booking? For the record, I had already paid to Expedia the sum of US $7.33 to cover local taxes and service charges. Other than that, my room was not clean and the bath towel in my room was worn and frayed. I have stayed in this hotel before, but it is unlikely that I will stay there again.

“Hotel Schiphol A4 Amsterdams secret”

Hotel Schiphol A4 Is located just out side of Amsterdam. Surrounded by open field. After walking Amsterdam all day its nice to get away from the noise and relax in a comfrotable room with a balcany, a shower and sleep off the days party. Then to wake up to the "FULL" U.S. syle all you can eat breakfast buffet. A short 15 min train ride for another full days sight seeing and shopping. Hotel Schiphol A4 also has a full lounge bar with great atmospher and plenty of awesome and good people to meet. Its also a great spot if you rent car for the free parking if you want to venture out into the Neitherlands, you will learn driving in Amsterdam is not a simple task and not recommened. Hotel Schiphol A4 is right off the highway and is easy to find. All round the best Amsterdam local keep secret!

“Convenient for connecting flights.”

We arrived from Vancouver mid afternoon and caught the hotel shuttle outside the airport entrance. The shuttle got us promptly to the hotel. The gentleman at the desk was very friendly. Our room was adequate but I felt it could have been cleaner. Our balcony outside the patio window had a dirty ashtray with a cup on the floor also full of cig butts. This was supposed to be a non smoking room but obviously the cleaning crew did not check the deck. The carpet in the room appeared to need a shampoo soon. The morning buffet breakfast was fabulous. The next a.m. the shuttle took us to the airport to catch our connecting flight to Capetown, South Africa.

“Not bad minus the location”

We were under the impression that the hotel was fairly close to Amsterdam. It was not, It was a shuttle bus ride to the airport and then a train ride to Amsterdam from the airport. It wasn't too bad but we were not expecting to have to do that. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, across the street there is a KFC and a Burger King and also a restaurant that is not open very late. That is all there is around. The location of the hotel is not good however the cleanliness, staff, breakfast and accomodations were all great. Not sure if we would stay here again due to location. If it was around more things we would definately stay again. Hotel very clean and the included buffett breakfast is very good with lots to choose from.

“Not Impressed" looked great but service was awful”

there is no help for luggage in or out of the hotel after getting to the room we found that there was not even a way to make coffee everything was way overly priced...we were forced to rent two room after seeing the rooms there was more than enough room in just one room for us to relax for 11 hours in......in reality we didnt not even use the second room

Area recommendations

if its just a lay over of 13 hours get one room and rotate the people in ur family in and out so that you dont have to pay for two rooms if u have large family traveling with you

“The best choice for us. Also they have an amazing buffet breakfast and good food at reasonable price”

The telephone problem was obviously temporary ( but had already lasted for days). Many hotels would immediately have taken steps to make free telephones available at their reception desk. They did not , and the reception staff showed a lack of concern and understanding for their clients' needs, showing a lack of proper training. In fact, we had to ask first, and were then 'allowed' to use one of the spare phones. However, in all other respects the service level at the hotel is very high. We have always been very satisfied. Will also go back.

“Nice place to stay”

The hotel is very clean. Nice people and very helpful. They have a large lounge/bar and a large restaurant. Very comfortable room with a large bathroom. There isn't much around the hotel. A small place across the parking lot on the highway with two fast food places, one a KFC, and a clothing store and a gas station.
