Nice hotel near centre. Good value for money. After some reviews did wonder about cleanliness of shower - fine. Bar/Brasserie not open when I stayed. Optional breakfast not worth it. Goog place for budget travellers: I would certainly stay there again.

“Great Place to Stay”

Friendly and helpful. Arrived early and they still accommodated me. Rooms are in good condition, clean and room service does a good cleanup job. If there were to be any negatives about the hotel, the only things that come to mind are: 1) Only about a third of the rooms have a good view (the rooms on the front of the building). Any other room and all your looking at are other room windows. 2) No elevator. So if your way up, you have to climb very narrow little stairs. If the two points above don't bother you, then I definitely recommend this hotel. I will stay there again the next time I go to Amsterdam.

“Get exactly what you pay for”

There's nothing *wrong* with this hotel, per se. It's just a very cheap hotel. The location is ridiculously excellent (it's not quite ON Rembrantplein, but that's a blessing in disguise, since it's on a much quieter street a few blocks away) and the building is nice, and then the rooms are the size of a file cabinet. But what were you expecting? Staff were friendly, spoke English better than I did, and were helpful.

“Good Hotel for the Budget with a great staff.”

I was pleased with this hotel for my stay in Amsterdam. Besides the lack of an elevator and the television was a little fuzzy on certain channels, everything else was acceptable. The staff made every effort to make our stay comfortable. The room was cleaned and the sheets changed every day. Breakfast was prepared each morning and delicious and the bar had reasonable prices that were cheaper than the other places around town. The view of the canal from our room was amazing. The area was close to the hot spot, but for enough away to be quiet at night. I will definately be staying here again next time I visit Amsterdam.

“Lovely Location”

First impression when seeing the hotel from the other side of the canal was still the impression when we left. It's in such a lovely quite location within walking distance to all the main attractions.. it's just knowing where to go, which the hotel staff helped with directions. There are alot of stairs but that comes with the nature of the city so be prepared. The rooms did have a lot of mirrors but it did help with making the room feel a little bigger. The staff were friendly and helpful on all occasions. Lovely hotel, lovely location and lovely staff.

“Great location and staff, rooms are just ok”

Initally I was NOT ahppy at all! I had to climb up very small steps to the 4th floor, and 1st room placed in was terrible, the 2nd room wasn't a little better but no shower curtain, basically wanted a refund, but Marco (front desk guy), basically made sense in telling me it's just a place to go to sleep and that is true. After the next day and a good night sleep from a long time being awake, I warmed up to the staff. All very freidndly and accomdating, my last night staff and other guests sat around the bar drinking free of charge and having a really really good time, laughs and all. I'm sorry to say I wish I had felt this way to begin with and not being as negative as I was. As far as the property itself it is a very old building and quaint, everything in city centre is a 15 walk to any direction, unfortunately there are no elevatos and steps are pretty steep, but if in good shape it shouldn't be a problem. The rooms itself are not the best no remote control for tv, tvs are just ok, bedding is ok too. But what made the stay the best was the stafff especially Marco, really super nice guy, speaks really good English too!

“Basic but clean warm & good if on budget”

The hotel is ideally situated near to Dam Square which was convienient, the staff were friendly & helpful. The breakfast provided was scrambled eggs, cheese, ham with toast tea coffee & fresh orange juice which was basic but adequate. The hotel was clean with fresh beding however very shabby decor wise. Unfortunately we were on 5th floor with very narrow twisting stairs which would not suit everyone, this is typical of houses in Amsterdam tall and narrow. The room was warm although not very spacious the en-suite was in need of modernisation although we had plenty of hot water. There were no tea/coffee making facilities provided however we did borrow a kettle for a few days. I'd rate this hotel 3/5 basic with no frills but for money.

“centrale, mais sale et mal entretenu”

papier peint qui se décolle, moquette tachée, couette une place pour un lit double, 1 serviette "roi lion" walt disney, pas de produits de toilettes, draps tachés et troués...bref, malgré la gentillesse du personnel et l'emplacement très centrale dans une petite rue très jolie, je ne peux pas vraiment conseiller cet hotel.
