“No frills but clean and convenient”
No frills but a perfect place to stay if you want something very basic, close to many attractions (minutes from Leidplein), and cheap! The staff was very helpful and nice. Everything was very clean and it was definitely worth the price.
“Hôtel de charme”
Salle de bains très petite, douche mal conçue donc de l'eau partout même en faisant attention. Sinon, hôtel très bien situé, près des musées. Charme des vieilles maisons d'Amsterdam. Personnel agréable.
“Nice Amsterdam Experience”
People there were very friendly & helpful; besides staying on 4th floor, everything was fine. We loved the location & it was walking distance to everything plus beautiful view of the canal. Breakfast was simple but satisfying w/yogurt, & local breads, coffee & juice. Also, need to know that the stairs were a very steep spiral & elevator out. For the price, nice clean room w/good water pressure in shower & comfortable beds, along w/wonderful view if you get canal view. I loved Amsterdam & will stay @Quentin Hotel again hopefully soon when I return.
“Better than i expected!”
For the price I payed for 4 nights here I wasn't expecting much, but I was very pleased. Sure some people would say its basic but my twin room had 2 beds, a toilet and a shower which were all fine and all I really needed as it was just a place to lay my head, the staff were friendly and spoke excellent English, they even provided free tour guides and gave us directions when we needed them. The hotel is in a great location right next to the Leidseplein which has a great night-life and loads of restaurants & coffee shops, it is also only a 20 minute walk from all the high street shops, Dam square and the Red light district and is surrounded by the beautiful canals and main attractions such as the Heineken experience, Anne Frank Huis, Vondelpark etc. Overall I would rate my experience here an 8/10 and would definitely stay here again next time I come to Amsterdam. Thanks!
“cheap and cheerful”
for reasonable price staying in heart of dam was excellent location but for the room it was adequate except for four flights of very steep and windy stairs, hotel should invest in repairing lift that has been out of action since 2008.no kettle in rooms that was needed as has to go out just to get coffee.
“Two day city visit”
Location is great for seeing Amsterdam. Easy walk to park, museums and trams (that can get you anywhere in city for 7 euro per day). My room was small, basically a bed closet and desk - that was all I needed as I spent very little time there. Facility was clean, read previous reviews that the lift was not functional, burt worked fine during my stay. Nice view of canal. Breakfast was simple, but served my purpose.
“Good cheap accomodation”
I stayed in the economy double room and it was very small but comfortable enough with a good shower and comfy bed. The hotel is in a great location, a fair walk from central station and dam square, however there is lots to do around such as the van gogh museum and heineken experience within easy walking distance. I wouldnt recommend you stay here if you dont like stairs as the lift looks like it has never worked and the stairs are very steep which isnt the most convenient with luggage and the hotel staff didnt offer to help us with it up to our room.
“location”
As long as you're OK with step narrow stairs this is a great location and clean rooms. Not the most comfortable matress you'll ever lay your head on however.
“Perfect Location. Good rates. Friendly employees.”
Room was small and had a view of another wall two feet away. They were working on the elevator while we were there and it was pretty obnoxiously loud in the morning. Also considering that the elevator was broken, the hike up 4 flights of stairs as steep as ladders was kinda of winding. I know typical lazy american. Overall my stay was good with this hotel, ht eare was perfect, loved the staff and would stay again with a better view and the elevator working.
