“One of the Best Hotels I have statyed in”
I liked the hotel very much. Amazed to see the amenities they provide and they have good staff too.
“Lovely hotel”
This was a very very nice hotel indeed. It is not central in Amsterdam, but isn't far either. There is a free shuttle bus at certain times (more often at weekends) and a free ferry service which goes all night. The ferry service is about 15 minutes walk straight down the road and runs from centraal station. Very clean and comfortable and a nice relaxing bar. It is happy hour early evening, which makes the drinks a reasonable price. Very good value for the standard of hotel. There a couple of restaurants nearby and bars also a couple of shops.
“The Nicest Hotel We Stayed At in Europe”
Our large modern room had air conditioning, 3 telephones, a refrigerator and a hot water pot with complimentary tea and coffee. Quiet location. Free ice available from machine. Free shuttle bus service from the hotel to the Amsterdam Central Station where all public transit arrives and leaves,or a 3 minute walk to catch the #39 bus to the Central Station, 10 minutes away. Good Turkish restaurant across the street.
“Good”
Overall it was a great experience. The rooms are small for a family but compared to many rooms in Europe, this one was pretty manageable for the price. The only issue we had was that I called down for an extra pillow the first night and they said they would bring one, but it never showed up. This is really a lovely little hotel with decent customer service in a quiet residential district. It's much quieter than hotels in the Central Station area. Unfortunately this hotel is primarily used by Northwest Airlines for their flight crews and they definitely received preferential treatment. Their rooms were ready first and they rec'd better service at the bar -- Several instances I was presented a bill for food services only to have it amended to a higher value when they realized I was not with Northwest. The restaurant and bar serves purely Americanized food, so don't expect this hotel to provide you with any sort of feeling of the Netherlands. Overall it was still a good hotel with decent American amenities.
“out of the city but very nice”
aside from the hotel being a short bus ride or taxi ride away, I definetly recommend this hotel. The staff are very nice and late night food menu is exceptional. I would not call the USA from the room, the rates are outragous.
“Great Hotel”
The hotel was really nice. It is calm and away from the city. The walk from the ferry to the hotel is not bad. There is the shuttle service, which is great.
“'dont bother'”
lacking in character with grumpy shuttle bus drivers who spend their journeys on their mobiles. Not brilliant but not all bad. we were lucky to get a balcony which afforded us a lovely view of the city. Room vary basic and very small.room service very limited and quite a walk if you brave it to town without the shuttle bus!
“Clean & Quiet”
Clean & Quiet hotel that is reasonably priced. Many of the Northwest flight crews stay at this hotel. The only drawback is that there is no room service after the restaurant closes (around 10pm). Easy walk to the hotel if you use the free ferry behind the central station to cross the canal.
