“Good safe choice.”
Nice small hotel with updated amenities on a quiet street
“Fab hotel”
Wonderful room, with floor to ceiling windows on two sides - lovely high ceiling. Hotel is right on the edge of the canal ring but within easy walking distance of all major attractions. We declined the breakfast option, which at €18 per person per day we thought to be very expensive, and instead found the delightful Village Bagel shop around the corner on Prinsengracht.
“A lovely hotel in a perfect location”
We stayed three nights at this hotel and have nothing negative to say about it. It was immaculate and stylish and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a bit more expensive than we wanted to pay but we stuck our head in to see what it was like and it looked fresh and the choice was good. We would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
“A very comfortable and convenient base to explore Amsterdam”
This Mercure hotel is quite nicely located, away from the hustle and bustle but close to tram routes. One can walk into the main centre or its surrounding areas if you wish but trams are so convenient. Hotel was spotless and staff more than helpful. Our room was a good size (2 adults and one teenager) but our only adverse comment is the dark coloured walls and soft lighting could make it seem dark at times. This is a great medium-cost hotel and we would stay here again!
“Highly recommended”
This is a quiet but well situated hotel, between the main centre and the museums. It's also on a tram line that goes to the Central Station, which is useful when you arrive/leave. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but had it at local cafes. Plenty of restaurants in Utrechtestraat nearby for dinner. The decor of the room was modern without being alienating. The beds were super comfy and the pillows and duvets too. Plenty of room, and in the bathroom too. Great shower. Friendly staff.
“Fantastic for all the family...”
A fantastic hotel with modern, simple, funky decor and very friendly, helpful staff. Fantastic for the whole family. Loved the intimate downstairs bar to chill out in during the evenings. The hotel's located a little further out from the heart of the city so it was wonderfully quiet and smack bang in between the musuem quarter and the inner districts. Also within two blocks of one of the best streets for eating. We will definitely stay again.
“Great hotel!”
I stayed at this hotel for two nights with my husband as a treat for his birthday. We arrived on Saturday morning, and whilst we were too early to check in, the very polite reception staff offered to let us leave our bags at the hotel, and gave us a map showing the main squares in Amsterdam as well as the hotel itself. We returned in the afternoon and checked in. Our room was on the third floor and looked out over a residential street. I booked the hotel through Expedia and we were given a Privilege Room- and what a fantastic room it was! It was really spacious, reall well decorated and clean, with a huge, very comfortable bed (and I never sleep well in hotel beds!)and a lovely bathroom with a great shower. The room had a mini bar and a safe, along with a tea tray, and free wireless. The only slight downsides are the noise of the plumbing (it is a bit clunky) and the lack of shower curtain which meant that the bathroom floor got wet when we showered- but these two things didn't in any way ruin our enjoyment of the hotel! The location of the hotel was fantastic, around a mile from AnneFrankHuis and the main shopping area, so we walked everywhere. We didn't eat at the hotel, but did have a drink in the bar which was really cosy and had complimentary nuts with your drinks. I would highly recommend this hotel and would not stay anywhere else in Amsterdam.
“Happy to be there”
A quiet location and interesting quirky details in the hotel, clever use of colour and decoration made it an ideal and interesting place to stay. A pleasure to walk into. Staff very helpful too.
“Great value”
great hotel, spacious room (by European standards), great breakfast.
“A super find”
A super little hotel, tucked away in a quiet side street and a reasonable stroll from most central attractions. The staff were superbly professional and efficient and the rooms very well appointed. An added bonus was on-site parking, which was well priced and very, very convenient. Top tip - there are just half a dozen spaces and it's operated on a fist-come-first-served basis. We timed our arrival to coincide with all the business travellers checking out at 9am and nabbed a space as quick as a flash! Otherwise, take your chance with on-street parking. We felt that the continental breakfast buffet was good, but a touch overpriced. We would certainly stay here again.

Canal Ring, Amsterdam, Netherlands: The classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic muchphotographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.
