Room Amenities
Rooms
The Lloyd Hotel, Amsterdam, has 117 guestrooms spread across 7 floors. It was one of the first hotels in the world to offer room accommodations ranging from basic (1 star) to luxurious (5 stars). Each room was individually styled by Dutch designers (such as Claudy Jongstra, Hella Jongerius, De Bazel, Marcel Wanders, and Richard Hutten). Many rooms retain original features such as glazed ceramic tiles and wooden beams, blended seamlessly into design statements. Furnishings range from original 1920s chairs to bold contemporary pieces. Decor mainly leans towards the minimal. 5-star rooms offer statement pieces such as a grand piano, and a 4-meter bed that sleeps up to 8 people.
All rooms include satellite TV with free movie channels, desks, and complimentary wireless Internet access. All but 1-star rooms have ensuite bathrooms, some of which innovatively fold away, others with fiberglass-molded bathtubs. All guestrooms are nonsmoking.

“hotel lloyd à Amsterdam : très bien situé par rapport au transport pour aller au centre ville”
bien situé par rapport aux transports pour aller dans le centre ville (tram 26), l'hôtel est bien tenue, le personnel très agréable (il vaut mieux parler anglais), on peut y manger toute la journée, les chambres sont confortables, un peu atypique... le petit déj est complet et très bon (17 euros) un conseil : vous pouvez y aller !
“Fascinating hotel”
The Lloyd Hotel is a great hotel for a family (as we were) but we would recommend it also for anyone who likes their hotel not to be a uniform chain style. The restaurant staff were really friendly to all of us and brought the children their own pot of chocolate sprinkles at breakfast. Nice food at dinner, too.The Lloyd Hotel is very quirky. The rooms are all very different to each other. We had 2 3star rooms and 1 4star room. The 4 star was great with children as it was a very big room divided by dividing doors into 3 normal sized rooms. The first had 2 single beds for the children. The second was the bathroom and the third a very light, nicely decorated double room. The 3 stars did not have lots of cupboard space but were fine for a weekend. One of them had an enormous freestanding bath in the middle! The hotel has lots of nooks and crannies to explore, staircases all over the place and photos of its prison past. It is in the Eastern Docklands but is only 5 minutes from Centraal by tram 26.
“Excellent hotel and holiday”
Stayed in the Lloyd for three nights with my boyfriend in a three star room. Very strange layout but we loved it and the bed was the comfiest ever! The hotel had so much character and the staff were very efficient and friendly. Food prices werent bad compared to the rest of amsterdam. The tram service was just behind the hotel and across the road from the hotel were great food shops which just added the how great we thought the hotel was. We plan on booking again in future trips to amsterdam and would strongly reccommend! Well worth the money.
“A unique stay”
This is a hotel with many surprises. My husband and I were completely charmed, but it might put off travelers who don't like the unexpected. Our only real complaint was that our room was near the elevators on the main floor, and we could hear a lot of noise (people talking) as a result.
“A must visit hotel, I'll be back.”
Having stayed in many hotels throughout the world, the experience we had at the Lloyd, far surpasses virtually all other hotels, even those of a higher star rating. The entire staff made us feel as if we were old friends, rather than mere guests, with friendly helpful service at every request. The quirky and eclectic mix of good design combined with the history of the hotel, made the total feel homely and welcoming. Would we go back again? Tomorrow. Highly recommended.
“Hotel Lloyd”
I've stayed at the Hotel LLOYD on various occasions for several years now. I've always been very pleased with the place, customer service and general vibe- The Lloyd is quirky, artsy and comfortable- not for 5 star must haves-but definitely an excellent value. I'd recommend it again...
“A very modern and slightly quirky dutch experience”
A hotel that attracts a diverse clientele, ranging from families through local youth workers to business executives. The rooms are clean, open plan and some of them come with quite spectacular art installations. They will appeal to the more adventerous traveller. The staff are very friendly, if occassionally a little distracted (they were running a series of conventions while we there there and seemed a little overstretched). The restuarant is modern Dutch, mixing Dutch classics (try the meatball - just the one extermely large one!) with a good smattering of pastas, meats, veggie dishes, fish etc. Something for all the family, even our fussy nine year old was happy. Location is in the eastern Docklands, if you like modern urban architecture this is for you. It is a little out of the way, but ten minutes on the 26 will get you to Central Station. There are a few local restuarants but you will need to eat breakfast in the hotel as nothing else is open at that time.
“Can't wait to go back!!!!!!!!!”
The Lloyd Hotel is located extremely close to Central Station and Dam square, every room is unique from the others, and the staff was very friendly. I just don't understand why our particular bathroom did not have a shower curtain to stop water from getting on the floor (I do not mean to imply that this is typical of all rooms, it was just a little different). Don't get me wrong, though, this is a phenomenal hotel in which to stay and I will stay there again when I go back!!! I would recommend this hotel to everyone!!!
“best bed ever”
spent most of weekend in bed due to the comfort of the room - staff great and food good too
“This hotel was the icing on the cake”
Staying at this hotel will make your trip to Amsterdam unforgettable. It was outside of the touristy canal area, but not inconvenient. The hotel itself is stunningly beautiful and includes an art gallery, library, and a great restaurant and bar. Our 3-star room was great! Plus, super soft sheets. I would return again and again to the Lloyd.
