“Tiny, but safe, clean and convenient”
The hotel is conveniently located. It is on two tram lines, and there is a canal boat tour dock across the street. The hotel was also very clean. However, the rooms are small, even for a European hotel. You must be comfortable living out of your suitcase - no chair, table, desk, etc. to unpack. Also, there is no alarm clock. But, as a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe. There is someone at the front desk at all times, and they unlock the door only for hotel guests. For the price, it was a great deal.
“Not bad.”
I had quite a small room with only the basics (bed, chair, table lamps, telly on a wall bracket) but for the price I think it was OK value. The girl in reception was really nice and asked if I wanted anything (useful as there was no drinking glass or ash tray in the room) and the bathroom was very clean. It felt quite secure as well, the reception is staffed 24hrs and you have to ring a bell to be let in. Its about a 10 min walk to the centre of town.
“Hotel Paganini”
For the price it costs - good enough. I had a 1 night stay, from 21 till 10 of the next morning. Room had a great view to the canals and huge window.
“hotel bien situé mais de qualité très moyenne”
hotel bien situé dans le centre, permettant de visiter ammsterdam à pied, à vélo ou en bateau mais avec des prestations très moyennes. Chambre très exigüe, sans chaise, sans armoire, sans penderie. Propreté de l'hotel en général laissant vraiment à désirer. Je pense que l'on peut trouver sur Amsterdam, un hôtel de meilleure tenue à prix égal !!
“This hotel is a smelly dump. Not impressed”
Key points from our experience: -the staff were pleasant enough but not particularly helpful -the general look of the corridors, reception and breakfast room was an overall lack of maintenance and care -in the building where our room was the smell of boiled cabbage in the corridors and in the bathroom was really repulsive. Fortunatly our room itself did not have that smell but our bathroom certainly did. - the shower basin had black mould all around it -the furnishing everywhere was abysmal, in our room broken mirror, broken picture, old dirty looking curtains, inadequate lighting and the room was so small. We had one of the better room as we had two big windows overlooking the canal. The bed was a small double with a mattress that had seen better days.
“the worst hotel i ever stayed in”
what a filthy room! i am glad it was dark without any outside windows, so we could not see how dirty it really was. but the hairs in the shower we could not overlook. and lousy breakfast. this was the worst hotel i ever stayed in. i would have expected something like this in a backbacker trap in south east asia, but not in amsterdam. if you look for accommodation close to the heineken museum, look for something else.
“Horrible”
This hotel is horrible, as the rooms have windows but they do not open (they are meant not to open as if they would they would open to a corridor where guests go past). There is no ventilation at all in the rooms, as there is also no window in the toilets. It gets very warm during the night and it can be unbearable. Also, the hotel is dirty and the bed very uncomfortable. The only decent thing is the shower. I would never go back there.
“I would not let my dog stay at this hotel !!”
Upon arrival at the hotel you find a sheet of paper taped to the door telling you to walk a block back to check-in, not easy when lugging your bags. The woman at the check-in ignores you while she is on the computer and then makes a phone call before saying hello. The hotel itself smells as though it has been a brothel for the past 50years. The hallway smell is highly offensive. I refused to stay and the woman actually yelled at me that she would charge me and my associate for a whole nights stay. I reminded her that Expedia has a small charge of I believe 40USD. She refused to accept this and said she will charge me the whole amount. My associate and I left with her scowling at us.
