“Nova hotel, Amsterdam”
Good basic three star hotel, clean rooms, comfortable beds, great shower, decent basic breakfast, fabulous central location yet still quiet. Only thing I'd suggest is to make check in a bit earlier (2pm now, early flight arrival forces you to leave your luggage in their storage room, which is open to whoever asks for the key), or have the clerk be the only one who opens the storage room for people, making it safer.

Area:
Canal Ring, Amsterdam, Netherlands: The classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic muchphotographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.
