This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and is not what it shows online. The toilet in our room had to be repaired upon arrival, the bed was smaller then I had asked for the door had trouble locking and the bathroom door had holes that could be seen through….. there is no where to store food, literally the smallest rooms I have ever seen. Everything from the hallway echos into the rooms and be prepared to hear your hotel neighbours using the bathroom in their room….. or anything else they choose to use their rooms for. I do not recommended this hotel at all worst. If you complain (ie our toilet not working) first question asked was “well what did you do?” then asked my son “what’s your problem?” very rude staff DO NOT STAY HERE ITS A RIP OFF

We are of course rather surprised to read what you left us as we receive very positive review scores and comments by the vast majority of our esteemed guests.To address some of the points you made: The room you booked with us is a small double room, we have larger rooms available, and the size of the room you booked was known at point of booking of course. If we had not been fully booked during your single night's stay we would have happily provided you an upgrade if it was available of course.Sound proofing in this long standing monumental building we are in, as is often the case in Amsterdam's city center, is a challenge indeed and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however we do mostly hear from our guests that our hotel is quiet, and night's rests are had in a positive manner.The toilet in your bathroom was in act not broken however due to ongoing renovations of all rooms the water had to be turned on, and after you informed us this was done and everything worked again.We believe that there must have been some level of language or cultural misunderstanding regarding your perception of our staff being rude. As is evident in all our reviews our team is highly rated for their friendliness and helpfulness to all our guests, and whenever we are notified of issues during a guests' stay we always take action to make sure the stay is a positive one.We are sorry to hear that you experienced and perceived matters in the way that left you feeling anything less than positive and hope other travelers that read this and the overwhelming majority of our reviews can be informed of the service and quality that we at Hotel de Looier truly do provide all our guests during their stays with us.

Room was spotless nice breakfast and attentive staff….only criticism was the pillows . They were very soft and uncomfortable/unsupportive for my liking . Other than that a very nice hotel.

I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel with my fiance. We booked for 11 nights so truly got a feel of the area and hotel and with true honesty I can say its the best holiday desicion we ever made to 1) come to this district of amsterdam and 2) choose this hotel. We dealt with most if not all the reception staff, and some of the cleaning staff, and not a bad word can be said. They were all friendly, knowledgeable, warm and welcoming. The rooms were so much better than we imagined. The best thing we enjoyed about the rooms were the ability to open windows and use radiators to control the temperature of the room. In other hotels we experienced either the radiator was too noisy, or windows didn't open over 1cm. But here at Hotel de Looier you are in full control of the room. The shower pressure and temperature were great, the bed was comfy, the curtains are black out and the mirror is nice large and clean. The only way the room could get better was I personally found the pillows a little large and firm, but I'm sure if I had mentioned to reception they would have tried their best to find me an alternative. My fiance used the pillows just fine. We went for the smaller of their double bedrooms and frankly it was still plenty of space. As for location, honestly it couldn't get any better. We were in walking distance of everything and the area the hotel is in is quiet enough to be out of the business of the city but close enough to everything that we really did walk everywhere.

Great location and so easy to get to from Schipol by bus 397 instead of the train. Despite being very central it's in a quiet street so we slept well! Recommend!

Hotel was very clean but basic. The hotel had everything that we needed and the bed was comfortable for a good nights sleep. Hotel staff were all very helpful and polite especially Dave who gave us a free breakfast for the morning after we arrived to help us start our very busy day celebrating a friends 50th. The hotel was walkable into the centre with restaurants and bars nearby. I would definitely return to this hotel if ever in Amsterdam again.

Great location. Staff are really helpful and friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean but unfortunately the fan in the bathroom kept going off every time we walked in there and would stay on for another 10 mins afterwards. This was a nuisance in the middle of the night when getting up to use the bathroom and trying to be as quiet as possible so as not to disturb my husband…both of us had broken sleep because of that darn fan.

A little gem of a hotel situated in the beautiful Jordaan district. Located near the elegant Elandsgracht, a wide boulevard full of interesting shops and café/restsurants, you can follow this street straight into the heart of old Amsterdam centre. Perfect for the directionally challenged like myself, I always managed to find my way back to the hotel on foot no matter where I wandered.

The staff at the front desk was super friendly, polite and helpful. We loved the location, we were able to walk everywhere, plenty of coffee shops and restaurants and small unique boutiques within short walking distance. The room was very spacious and the bathroom very comfortable and newly renovated. I definitely recommend it and will return to this lovely Hotel. I should mention that I left about 10 euros in coins on my bedside table the last day of our stay and when I returned after visiting the museum district to get changed for the New Year’s Eve celebration the coins were gone. It was just bothersome and not a big deal since nothing else was missing. I still would highly recommend this property

Hotel very clean and comfortable. Very central for exploring the city. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had a slight problem with the flush on the toilet but it was fixed very quickly once I had reported it to the receptionist.

The staff here were excellent. Very helpful and accommodating. We stayed about a week and enjoyed it the whole time. Could get slightly noisy during the day but it didn’t matter much as we were off sightseeing. Had a genuinely great time and would absolutely stay again especially for the price and location. Everything was a 20 min walk or less away!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The only downside was the bed it’s very low to the floor. Also would prefer regular milk rather than powdered.

Great out-of-the-way off the beaten path hotel, close to tram stops and bus 397 for airport. Short walk to shopping. Breakfast was simple but filling, room was austere with harsh lighting, could use a couple of floor lamps and desk lamp to make the room feel cozy, but bed was comfortable and nice pillows.
